Mengjing ·Xiyue Hotel (Nanping Pedestrian Street, Kunming Old Town)

Another cute, hidden gem. Tucked away in Nanping Pedestrian Street, so they come out to meet you after taxi drops you off and help you and your luggage in. I had booked this as a surprise ending to our 5th Anniversary, 30 days through China trip. They did a wonderful job specializing the room. The bed art was so cute that we joked about leaving it and sleeping on the sofa! The only thing missing is a mini fridge. Everything else in the room was just perfect. More than enough room for 2 people. Easy walking distance to food and shopping. In fact, across the street there is a huge shopping complex with many malls. The front desk staff did a wonderful job of trying to help us. One of the wheels on our suitcase broke on the way. He first called around to find a repair shop. Then called a luggage vendor in the mall to see if anyone could help. This was another location that had a beautiful rooftop location where we could sit, play cards, enjoy the night lights while doing our laundry. Unfortunately, we only spent 1 night here, but we would return again to do more exploring.

Excellent service. Very clean and seems newly retrofitted. Bed is very big & comfortable. All amenities provided. Location is awesome, near to Old Street Kunming. Location is good but first time to the hotel, may be a little challenging to find as not accessible by vehicle and you have to pull your luggage on the rocky pavement. But once you found the hotel, it’s so easily accessible.
