🌴Bali is truly my No.1 recommended overseas destination!✨
I've been to Bali three times, and each time it's breathtakingly beautiful!
This time I finally captured a stunning photo that got crazy likes on my social feed~📸

Hello everyone~
I’m Bu Chi Jing 🐳
A travel photographer who has been to over 30 countries✈️
·
Here’s a summary of my photography tips👇

🌳Jungle blockbuster hotspot:
Uluwatu Cliff Park
📍Address: Pecatu, South Kuta
🕒Hours: 7:00-19:00
Captured a stunning sunset silhouette here, with an 80-meter vertical cliff and crystal blue sea—every shot looks like a masterpiece!🏞️One of my favorite check-in spots~

🌄Volcanic scenic secret:
Batur Volcano Viewing Platform
📍Address: North Batur, Kintamani
🕕Best time: 4:00-6:00
Waking up at 4 AM is totally worth it! Sunrise above the sea of clouds with a full view of Mount Agung, just like National Geographic!🌋I recommend wearing a thick jacket, it’s really cold in the morning~

🌊Sunset at the Sea Temple:
Tanah Lot Temple
📍Address: Beraban, Kediri
🕔Best time: 16:00-18:00
If you want to shoot the temple at sunset, be sure to arrive early to secure a spot! The Sea Temple is super dreamy at high tide, and you can walk to it at low tide~Tip: remember to check the tide schedule⏳

🌿Rice field paradise:
Tegallalang Rice Terraces
📍Address: Jl. Raya Tegallalang
🕗Open: All day
But it’s better to come early for better light~The coconut tree terraces here are incredibly photogenic! Wearing local costumes makes your photos even better!👗There are also some popular swings here, don’t forget to bargain~

💡Photography TIPS:
- Always bring extra batteries!📷
- Don’t miss the golden hour one hour before sunrise
- Prepare US dollars to exchange for Indonesian rupiah💵
- Renting a car is much cheaper than taking taxis🚗

I’m already planning my fourth trip to Bali!

This luxurious hotel has a pleasant, small but adequate beach. You can access it from the surf school grounds to the left or from the right. You can also enter the hotel parking lot, where they'll take your license plate number and check your trunk, and then proceed directly to the beach.

This pool villa in Seminyak, Bali offers great value for money! Recently, the pool villa was just over 500! 🌴 Plus, the location is very convenient, only about a ten-minute drive from the airport!

🏡 The villa’s facilities are very new, making the stay especially comfortable. The private pool is absolutely amazing! The rooms are spacious, and the bedding is new and very comfortable!

Avoid the crowds at Kuta Beach and venture deep into Ubud’s inland, where you’ll discover a magical world blending art, jungle, and countryside. The Tegallalang Rice Terraces are not just for sightseeing—they’re an immersive playground for families to enjoy for half a day or more.

🌳 Various Ways to Enjoy Tegallalang Rice Terraces

Jungle Trekking and Treasure Hunt: Follow the terrace trails deeper into the jungle, surrounded by tropical plants. Along the way, you’ll find many Balinese-style art sculptures and installations, like giant cave faces, sparking your children’s sense of adventure.

Rice Terrace Art Class: With the layered terraces and coconut trees as your backdrop, sketch with your kids or take a series of natural, wild-themed family photos.

Mountain-Top Pool Swim: Some hotels and cafes in or near the area feature cliffside or jungle pools. For the price of a drink, your kids can swim in a pool overlooking endless green terraces—a truly unique experience.

Handicraft Workshops: Nearby workshops offer opportunities for kids to try making traditional Balinese ceremonial items or painting.

🚗 Transportation and Itinerary Tips

Location: Tegallalang Rice Terraces are located north of Ubud, about a 20-30 minute scooter ride from central Ubud.

Combined Visits: You can visit Tirta Empul Temple (to experience a religious purification ritual) and Tegallalang Rice Terraces on the same day, as they are conveniently located and offer complementary experiences.

Car Rental Suggestion: For families with elders and children, renting a car for a day in Bali (about 200-300 RMB) is a very comfortable and safe option.

💆 Family Relaxation Moment: Bali SPA
After a day of exploring with your kids, enjoy an authentic Balinese massage. Choose Bhava SPA or Ubud Traditional SPA, where you’ll fill out a health questionnaire beforehand—very professional. Try their signature flower bath to help your kids relax in a fragrant atmosphere.

🛒 Shopping and Souvenirs

Supermarket Shopping: Before leaving, visit Bintang Supermarket to stock up on souvenirs in one go: Ellips hair oil, Herborist hand cream, ABC chili sauce, various dried fruits, and coconut cookies—all much cheaper than at the airport.

Market Bargaining: When buying souvenirs at Ubud Market, remember to bargain boldly, usually starting from 30% of the original price.

🏨 Unique Stays in Ubud

Capella Ubud, Bali: Top-tier wild luxury, nestled between rainforest and valley, offering an impeccable experience.

Mandapa, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve, Ubud, Bali: Also in the ultra-luxury category, with rich cultural experience activities.

The Hanging Gardens of Bali, Ubud: Famous for its double-level infinity pools, seemingly floating above the jungle.

My personal favorite and top recommendation on this trip is Andaz Bali, part of the Hyatt group, full of design vibes, the kind of place you wish to stay for a whole week 💕

📍Location: Sanur Beach

🏠Design: Modern Balinese style, stepping in feels like entering a vast rainforest filled with birds and various small creatures chirping. The contrast between the secluded dampness and vibrant sunshine is striking. Passing through this area leads to a clear view of the sea, and just walking through here refreshes your whole being.

🛏️Room: I chose the pool view room, with a large balcony directly overlooking the silent pool. The interior features sliding doors connecting spaces, and the amenities include Byredo's Eleventh Hour (totally obsessed 😍).

🍽️Dining: First of all, everyone must try the room service fried rice! Incredibly fragrant! Open a bottle of wine, enjoy the warm aroma and cool bubbles, then take a stroll by the sea after eating. You don’t even need to leave the hotel for a perfect summer night~

🥐Wake up naturally and have breakfast, which offers a super rich selection. There are many kinds of smoothies, drinks made with local spices and plants, pandan-flavored cakes, and the matcha gelato is also delicious 😆.

🌅Activities: Tried sunrise Pilates and feeding sea turtles, both very interesting. Highly recommend aqua aerobics—dancing with the instructor in the seaside pool, then jumping in for fun, holding hands and spinning in the water. It really clears your mind and fills you with happiness.

There are many other activities too, you won’t get bored staying at the hotel all day, and you might even feel like you haven’t played enough 🛼.

We checked into the Villa Natasya hotel (separate houses, built in August of this year, everything is new and intact, and the price is the same as a regular hotel). The owner showed up to ask if we needed anything. The staff is helpful, available 24/7, and they can rent you a Honda Scoop.

There are Tegallalang Rice Terraces nearby; they charge for parking everywhere, or if you stop at their cafe. You can park for free near the store. They're beautiful, but it was raining.

Nearby is Manuaba Waterfall Air Terjun Manuaba. This is the first waterfall, and further in, there are other waterfalls. We arrived in the evening, so we got in for free.

The Jatiluwih Rice Terraces are the most legendary, much larger and more beautiful than the first ones. There's an entrance fee, but it's worth it. There's a passageway inside the terraces; they say there's a fee, but we just walked in for free. There's also a cafe called Sunari Bali with good prices and a beautiful view right inside the terraces, more interesting than the cafe by the road.

Kantō Lampo Waterfall. There's a locker for clothes; use it to keep your clothes from getting wet. It's very deep right as you descend; I fell waist-deep into the water. A little further on, I slipped and fell. There's a long line for photos. You can also descend to the left, and there's a field up the mountain with a view of the waterfall.

Tegenungan Waterfall is large; you can swim closer to it, but it's waist-deep, so don't be afraid. The bottom is sandy (or earthy), but the entrance is rocky, and it gets deep right as you descend. That's why people don't go to the entrance, but to the bridge (you'll see it).

Lahangan Sweet Viewpoint. I don't know why everyone raves about it; it's not worth the money. Entry is 100,000 rubles per person, the walk there is very long, and it's so-so. There's nothing to do there, and the cafe is so-so. The volcano is invisible; it's in the clouds. Literally 20 minutes later, a cloud rolled in and it started raining.

If you're vacationing in Bali and want to avoid scams and wasting money, as a local guide, I've compiled six common traps tourists fall into based on firsthand experience leading tours. Follow these tips for a smooth trip~

First, the transportation trap! Drivers of tuk-tuks near the airport, Ubud Palace, and Kuta Beach often overcharge tourists. They ask for 300 from the airport to Denpasar city center, but the reasonable price is only 80-100. It's best to book a private car with a local guide in advance or use a ride-hailing app to see the fare before getting in. Never trust drivers who say they'll take you to cheap attractions—most are just trying to bring you to shops for commissions.

Next, the attraction trap! Popular spots like the Instagram-famous cliff swings and the Gates of Heaven have scalpers on the roadside offering to skip lines for 200, but official lines rarely take more than 30 minutes. Many "wild swings" have no safety guarantees. Also, some "off-the-beaten-path" viewpoints on Nusa Penida charge 50 entrance fees but only have a patch of weeds. It's better to have a local plan your route to avoid these paid traps.

Be careful with currency exchange too! Airport and hotel exchange rates are terrible and often have high fees. Official exchange shops in the city (marked "NO COMMISSION") offer better rates. Check the posted rates carefully before exchanging to avoid hidden fees. It's recommended to exchange money in smaller amounts multiple times rather than all at once.

Don't fall for food traps! Many trendy restaurants overcharge—fried rice can cost 100, but tastes worse than local street stalls. Authentic food is found near traditional markets: 5,000 IDR grilled corn, 30,000 IDR seafood fried rice, 20,000 IDR fresh juice—great value for money.

Watch out for shopping traps! Don't forget to bargain at Ubud Market; sellers usually start at 2-3 times the real price. Boldly haggle down to half and then negotiate slowly. Avoid buying "local specialties" like agarwood and essential oils—many are fake, and genuine ones are expensive and hard to distinguish.

Also, the weather trap! Bali’s rainy season (November to March) has frequent rain. Don’t trust day tours that promise "sun all day"—heavy rain often disrupts plans. Choose flexible itineraries with free cancellation during the rainy season, and check weather forecasts for outdoor activities to avoid wasted trips.

Most Bali traps come from information gaps. Having a local guide not only helps you avoid scams but also unlocks hidden gems and authentic food. If you have any itinerary questions, feel free to ask me—I can help customize a trap-free route just for you~

You wake up at 5 AM not because of an alarm, but because of the sunrise light streaming directly into your tent. 🌋☁️ Glamping in Kintamani truly defines "five-star camping," making you feel like you're above the clouds. No need to hassle with setting up a tent or getting dirty; you can enjoy the majestic view of Mount Batur and Lake Beratan right from under your blanket. It's truly a healing experience without the exhaustion!

Honestly, the best part is at night. You can sit by the campfire, listen to the serene sounds of nature, and gaze at the star-filled sky. The chilly Kintamani air is so addictive, especially when paired with hot chocolate or instant noodles—pure bliss! Every corner of the glamping site is incredibly Instagrammable, perfect for those who want to create "A Day in My Life" content with a back-to-nature vibe while still looking chic and luxurious.

What makes glamping here unmissable is the sensation of taking a warm shower amidst the bone-chilling cold air. It feels like all your worries just melt away! For those of you tired of the city's hustle and bustle and wanting to experience the magical vibes of Bali's mountains without hiking, glamping in Kintamani is the perfect choice. Waking up to a golden hour view—who wouldn't want that?
