5-Star Hotels in Hebei, China

This is our third year celebrating Chinese New Year at the Sheraton Guan. Overall, it's pretty good; the room and dining services are excellent. Just a heads-up for anyone visiting in winter: avoid rooms facing south. They get incredibly hot. The hotel's central AC only blows hot air, and with the direct sunlight, the room becomes unbearable for sleeping. To make matters worse, the windows only open a tiny crack – it was truly a struggle!

It was already noon when we arrived, and the front desk kindly allowed us to check in early. They also prepared the extra bed rail and mineral water we requested. The chaise lounge in the room was incredibly useful for me; my child could play, sleep, and watch TV on it easily. 🍚 Breakfast: For children over 1.2m, there's an extra charge of 40 yuan. The variety was decent, mostly cold cuts or processed sausages for meat, with plenty of carbs, vegetables, and fruits. They also offered a savory milk tea, which was quite good. 🛝 The hotel has a small game room with a mini slide and trampoline, suitable for toddlers. It's a nice touch. 🏊 The pool costs 10 yuan per person for guests, and it's also open to the public. We participated in a promotional event that waived the fee. The changing rooms were clean. The pool isn't huge but sufficient, and there's a small mushroom pool with a higher temperature than the main pool, which was great. My little one had a lot of fun, and you can see the mountains and cable car from outside the pool area, offering nice views. Areas for improvement: We stayed on the 3rd floor. There might have been an odor from the sink, and the bathroom didn't have an exhaust fan, so the air felt stuffy. We kept the windows and doors open, but thankfully, there were no mosquitoes. Overall, I feel we chose the right hotel. After looking around, it seems much better than the Crowne Plaza.

The hotel service was absolutely wonderful! The staff were professional and kind, making the service experience excellent. They patiently answered all questions without any hint of impatience, and even helped us with a late check-out. Issues were resolved very quickly, and we received complimentary welcome fruit. The facilities are very new and don't feel old-fashioned; they're the best among hotels in the same price range. I highly recommend experiencing Wuzhou! The guest rooms are spacious with fantastic views from the panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows, and luxury amenities like a Dyson hairdryer and a scenic bathtub are all included. The breakfast selection is rich, and the local Ban Mian noodles taste authentic. Service response is very fast, and the robot delivery is super convenient. The environment is quiet and upscale, offering much better value for money than other hotels in the same price bracket – highly recommended! The ceiling-to-sky heated swimming pool is the biggest highlight! The water is clear and clean, the space is open, and the temperature is just right. It's free for guests, making it incredibly relaxing and great for photos.

Our family stayed at Nuoan Yuanjin, and our butler, Wendy, was incredibly attentive and thoughtful throughout. When we booked the deck time, I was concerned about mosquitos for the kids since it's outdoors, and I shared my worries with Wendy. She informed me beforehand that mosquito repellent would be available on-site and even helped reserve a more suitable seating area for us. During the deck time, we enjoyed some drinks and snacks, and it was a very comfortable and relaxing experience for the whole family. Afterward, she proactively asked about our dining experience. For daily needs, whether it was calling for the shuttle or requesting extra amenities for the room, communication was simple and efficient. The service was genuinely sincere, without any pretense or empty words. I'll definitely prioritize staying here again the next time I visit Aranya.

The environment is beautiful, nestled in a valley with lush greenery and blooming wildflowers. The air is fresh and cool, especially pleasant for a walk in the early morning and evening. The hotel's exterior architecture is very distinctive, and the small landscaping around it is charming, creating a resort-like atmosphere. The room is a bit small, in the Atour style, with an all-black decor that feels a bit oppressive. There's no air conditioning, and the window can't be fully opened, making the room noticeably stuffier and hotter than outside. There were also bits of paper and dust on the floor and around the desk lamp. Starting around 10 PM, large trucks outside the McDonald's downstairs were constantly loading and unloading goods, generating a lot of noise. We had to close the window, which made the room even more stuffy and hot, leading to a terrible night's sleep. Breakfast was standard for a star-rated hotel, with the pastries being particularly good.

The room size is quite spacious. Although the decor is a bit dated, the cleanliness is truly impeccable. Overall, the service attitude was very good. The front desk staff were very friendly. Telephone service was prompt; it's the fastest I've experienced at any hotel in terms of getting help to the room. The welcome fruit was incredibly fresh and substantial. Every piece was edible, not just good-looking but tasteless ones. What I wasn't happy with: Firstly, the doorman. We arrived around 2 PM, which I assume is peak check-in time. I only saw one attendant at the entrance. My family went to park, and I was left alone with my child, carrying a backpack, an iPad, dragging a suitcase, and a large bag of snacks. The attendant just took the luggage out of the car and left me to my own devices. It was quite chaotic. Even if he had just helped me get a luggage cart, it would have been much better. When traveling with children, you always have a lot of stuff, so this situation should be very common. I suggest increasing the number of doormen and having luggage carts readily available at the hotel entrance. Secondly, the toothbrush in the room was incredibly hard. After brushing, I was practically spitting blood. Also, the hairdryer was fixed inside a drawer with a very short cord, making it difficult to hold up. Plus, it was really hard to use. Can't they update to a better one? The cool air doesn't dry, and the hot air burns your scalp. Even with my relatively thin hair, it took ten minutes to somewhat dry, when at home it usually takes about a minute. It doesn't have to be as fancy as a Dyson, but a Xiaomi or Laifen would be an improvement. Finally, the automatic door on the first floor leading to the beach wasn't very sensitive. As I was walking out with my child, it started closing automatically before we were fully through, and my child bumped their face. Although it wasn't serious, it's still a safety hazard. I reported it to the front desk, and they were very kind and immediately asked about my child's well-being. I just hope the issue will be taken seriously.

The hotel environment is lovely, with an innovative design concept. From the king-size bed, opening the curtains reveals a truly healing view. The room is spacious and well laid out. It would be even better if the floors were wiped without leaving water marks, the room had a fresher scent (there was a slightly fishy smell after mopping), and the toiletries were a bit more refined. Breakfast is served next door at Luyu Restaurant, and the management there could use some improvement. When we went at 9:30 AM, there was no one to seat us, so we had to find a table ourselves, and no one was clearing tables promptly. The food selection is adequate for its price point, but the display fridge for bread and pastries had noticeable hygiene issues, both externally and internally. Overall, this hotel has clear pros and cons, but the timely butler service, excellent views, top-notch design, and clean, friendly animals make it worth trying.

Stayed here on the second day of my competition. Overall, the facilities were quite good. It has a bamboo-themed decor. I booked a mountain view room with a balcony. Some rooms have them, some don't, and I later switched to one with a balcony. My online booking was 20 yuan more expensive than the walk-in rate, so if you're not in a hurry, it's worth checking the on-site prices before booking to compare. The room had two bathrooms. The toilet and shower were separate, and there was plenty of space. The room itself was also very large and even had a sofa. The air was incredibly fresh, and the views were stunning. It was also super convenient to get to Genting Theme Park. The air conditioning worked great. The only minor issue was that the bed creaked every time I turned over. Breakfast was excellent too, with a wide variety of options. I get the feeling this place would be incredibly convenient for skiing, as the slopes lead right to the hotel. I'd definitely come back in winter if I get the chance.

I usually stay at one of two hotels when I'm on business in Cangzhou: the Golden Lion Hotel or the Arcadia. The front desk staff, especially Li Huize, provided excellent and thoughtful service, even preparing welcome gifts and drinks. First, about the room: it was clean, but the facilities were outdated. There wasn't even a USB port in the room, which I suggest the hotel updates. Next, the service: there was no doorman at the entrance to open the car door or help with luggage upon arrival. The service felt impersonal. This is definitely something the hotel should learn from the Golden Lion Hotel, where the service is much more welcoming and enthusiastic. Furthermore, the hotel's room service staff were not very warm; they seemed rather aloof. And the hallway had a pervasive musty smell. Finally, the hotel breakfast: the variety was not as good as the Golden Lion. The ham sausages were not pure meat, but starchy, and the bacon also looked pale and not like pure meat. There were no desserts, and the lamb intestine soup wasn't freshly prepared. When I called for ice to my room, it was brought in a large ramen-style bowl, not an ice bucket. This really felt out of place for a five-star hotel.

From the moment I checked in until I checked out, the entire experience was delightful. The lobby was grand and spotless, and Manager Bi always greeted me with a warm smile, which made me feel very welcome. My room had excellent natural light and a spacious view. The air conditioning and hot water worked perfectly, making for a very comfortable stay. The mattress was just right, not too soft and not too firm, and the pillows were comfortable too; I slept soundly until morning. Room service was very prompt; anything I requested usually arrived within ten minutes. Upon checkout, they even proactively asked about my stay, which shows their attention to detail. Overall, it was a very pleasant stay and highly recommended.
