SsidewongIt's been ages since I last left a hotel review, simply because nothing stood out. But The Footland broke that streak.
Driving from Beijing to The Footland, the underground parking garage has five sharp right-angle turns – pretty fun for an experienced driver. The parking staff were super friendly, guiding me to the elevator upon arrival and showing me the exit turn when I left. I made a mental note of that.
On the first floor, a staff member greeted me and helped with my luggage. After checking in at reception, a bellhop helped me retrieve my snowboard. It's worth mentioning that they have a dedicated, spacious room for snowboard storage, with everything neatly arranged. Just tell them the sender's name and arrival time, and the bellhop finds it in seconds. Then they help transport it to your room. I made a mental note of that.
Coming back from night skiing, I had to walk up a short flight of stairs and bumped into the same bellhop who helped with the snowboard earlier. He proactively offered to carry our two snowboards. I made a mental note of that.
Back in the room, there's a designated spot for snowboards right by the entrance, which is very practical. Both the room and bathroom have floor heating, which was lovely. I slept well; the room temperature and humidity were just right and very comfortable. I made a mental note of that.
Stepping out the next day, I encountered the cleaning staff. They politely asked if I was heading out and offered bottled water. We told them just a quick tidy-up would be fine, no need for a thorough cleaning. The auntie kindly said it was no problem, that cleaning was their main job and duty. She tidied the bathroom for us and left our other belongings untouched. When we left, she also politely asked if we were checking out and if she could go in to clean. It all felt very natural and genuine. I made a mental note of that.
To get to the ski resort, you can take the hotel shuttle, which runs hourly. It's about a ten-minute walk on your own (a bit slower with ski gear on). When I left in the morning, it was already 12:10 PM, and I missed the shuttle. The dispatcher patiently asked if we could ski on advanced slopes, suggesting we could take the cable car from the lower Prince Hotel. If we were going to Genting Hotel, he offered to arrange an extra shuttle for us as soon as possible at 12:30 PM, also reminding us that it might cut into the four-hour ski time. Such friendly service! I made a mental note of that.
Before leaving, we needed to send off our snowboards. There were three bellhops; I felt two of them were specifically stationed in the lobby to observe guests, ready to help with heavy items and ensure you didn't feel burdened at all. The other bellhop was at the entrance of the concierge department, guiding us through the drop-off process. The whole thing took less than five minutes – quick, efficient, and excellent. I made a mental note of that.
Among the ski resorts in China, The Footland is where I've most genuinely felt a hotel's dedication to professional training, meticulously executing every aspect of service with excellence. Every single staff member serves guests with sincerity, care, and wholeheartedness. To all of you who love your jobs, I made a mental note of that.
