It's been ages since I last left a hotel review, simply because nothing stood out. But The Footland broke that streak. Driving from Beijing to The Footland, the underground parking garage has five sharp right-angle turns – pretty fun for an experienced driver. The parking staff were super friendly, guiding me to the elevator upon arrival and showing me the exit turn when I left. I made a mental note of that. On the first floor, a staff member greeted me and helped with my luggage. After checking in at reception, a bellhop helped me retrieve my snowboard. It's worth mentioning that they have a dedicated, spacious room for snowboard storage, with everything neatly arranged. Just tell them the sender's name and arrival time, and the bellhop finds it in seconds. Then they help transport it to your room. I made a mental note of that. Coming back from night skiing, I had to walk up a short flight of stairs and bumped into the same bellhop who helped with the snowboard earlier. He proactively offered to carry our two snowboards. I made a mental note of that. Back in the room, there's a designated spot for snowboards right by the entrance, which is very practical. Both the room and bathroom have floor heating, which was lovely. I slept well; the room temperature and humidity were just right and very comfortable. I made a mental note of that. Stepping out the next day, I encountered the cleaning staff. They politely asked if I was heading out and offered bottled water. We told them just a quick tidy-up would be fine, no need for a thorough cleaning. The auntie kindly said it was no problem, that cleaning was their main job and duty. She tidied the bathroom for us and left our other belongings untouched. When we left, she also politely asked if we were checking out and if she could go in to clean. It all felt very natural and genuine. I made a mental note of that. To get to the ski resort, you can take the hotel shuttle, which runs hourly. It's about a ten-minute walk on your own (a bit slower with ski gear on). When I left in the morning, it was already 12:10 PM, and I missed the shuttle. The dispatcher patiently asked if we could ski on advanced slopes, suggesting we could take the cable car from the lower Prince Hotel. If we were going to Genting Hotel, he offered to arrange an extra shuttle for us as soon as possible at 12:30 PM, also reminding us that it might cut into the four-hour ski time. Such friendly service! I made a mental note of that. Before leaving, we needed to send off our snowboards. There were three bellhops; I felt two of them were specifically stationed in the lobby to observe guests, ready to help with heavy items and ensure you didn't feel burdened at all. The other bellhop was at the entrance of the concierge department, guiding us through the drop-off process. The whole thing took less than five minutes – quick, efficient, and excellent. I made a mental note of that. Among the ski resorts in China, The Footland is where I've most genuinely felt a hotel's dedication to professional training, meticulously executing every aspect of service with excellence. Every single staff member serves guests with sincerity, care, and wholeheartedness. To all of you who love your jobs, I made a mental note of that.

My stay here was great. The hotel was well located, right by a ski slope, and compared to other hotels, this area was quite secluded (or just less busy). Shan Lu is well run, with space for all activities (equipment storage, relaxing, KTV, spa, eating etc). I liked the free shuttle services, I liked how friendly and accomodating the staff were. The rooms were nice, aesthetic, and quite big. The bed/mattress was hard though, which made sleeping hard after a day of skiing and muscles tight and sore. But overall am happy with my stay here. I had such a good time. And also, the Buffet Breakafast was so so good. They had Everything you can think of! Sushi, chicken sausages, omelettes, juices, cereals, teas, breads, rice, curry, the list is endless!

This hotel is incredibly clean and well-maintained, and the decor is quite new. The shuttle service from the high-speed rail station is very convenient, and staff even help with luggage. There are always staff in the lobby ready to answer questions. The room facilities are excellent, and the breakfast quality is great. When you're heading out, you can easily find your way back to the hotel from the McDonald's location. In the morning, you can take the shuttle or, if you're up for it, walk a short distance with your ski gear – though that would be a bit of an effort. While no place is perfect, this is by far the most satisfying hotel I've stayed at in Chongli. The front desk also offers parcel receiving and sending services.

This is our second stay at Foothills, and we returned this year after a very pleasant family trip last year. The hotel staff, from the front desk to housekeeping, are all very friendly and attentive. The breakfast buffet is also quite good. The high-speed rail station shuttle service is very convenient. The only downside is the limited dinner options; the few restaurants in the hotel were almost empty. We ended up walking 10 minutes to the neighboring Prince Hotel, which had much more variety like BBQ, burgers, and hot pot. Last year, our room was really hot, but it was much better this year.

PROS: Friendly staff. Even though not many speak English, they really try to solve any issues that arise. Lily, one of the hotel staff members, spoke excellent English and assisted us on several occasions. Billiards room — free. Laundromat on the −1st floor — free. You can buy detergent in the convenience store on the same floor. Good breakfast, but Chinese food only. You can also have lunch and dinner in the same restaurant for an extra charge. Other restaurants in the hotel: Hotpot, Hunan cuisine, Yunnan cuisine. McDonald’s right outside (huge lunch lines, though). Gym on the 10th floor. Prince Hotel near the 22nd lift offers additional dining options. Yunting Hotel on the right also has options, plus a Burberry store and a coffee shop with good coffee, desserts, and even mulled wine. Ski-in / ski-out hotel. You can use the magic carpet to go to Genting (Yunting) Resort on the right and take a gondola to the top, or ski down to the left and take the 22nd chairlift — very convenient. Wanlong Resort is connected to Yunting; if you spend 78 RMB or more at Wanlong, you get free passage back. Thaiwoo Resort is about 10 minutes away by Didi. Fulong Resort is about 25 minutes away. A brand-new resort, Xue Ruyi, is also about 10 minutes away. The room has a bathtub — not very big, but cozy. Smart Toto toilet. Small but convenient shower. Plenty of space for luggage. Riding gear can be stored on the 1st or 2nd floor. CONS (minor): Dark bathroom. The room was very hot, even when it was −20°C outside. We had to open the window. The heated floors are very effective, but there’s no way to adjust them, even though there is a controller next to the switches in the corridor. Definitely bring shorts and tank tops for the room.

My favorite hotel at Genting Snow Park! The hotel's design and ambiance are fantastic, and the bathroom is spacious. The Jurlique toiletries are a big plus for me. While it's not strictly a ski-in/ski-out, it's super convenient for getting to Lift 22 and the ski-in/ski-out McDonald's. I stayed in two different room types this time and plan to come back for Chinese New Year. It would be even better if the hotel offered a loyalty program!
