My stay at Shima Hantou in Shima City, Japan was a delightful experience. The location of the hotel is convenient, earning it a solid 4 out of 5 rating. Although it is a bit far from Ise City, it's easily accessible by car, with just a 1-hour journey. The hotel's cleanliness also deserves a commendable 4 out of 5 rating. As a traditional Japanese hotel, the exterior has a charming appeal. While the interior design may not be the most modern, it is still well-maintained and clean. One aspect that truly stood out during my stay was the exceptional service provided by the staff. They were incredibly friendly, accommodating, and always ready to assist, earning a perfect 5 out of 5 rating for service. In terms of facilities, the hotel offers a basic hot spring bath, which was a relaxing experience. However, it's worth noting that there is only one pool for bathing, and the absence of a cold water bath and sauna facilities somewhat limited the options. Therefore, I would rate the facilities as 4 out of 5. Overall, I highly recommend Shima Hantou for a pleasant stay in Shima City. The location, cleanliness, and exceptional service make it a great choice for travelers seeking a traditional Japanese hotel experience.

It's a clean and nice hotel. However, the bathrobe-style loungewear is easy to come undone, and the knot hurts when you lie down, which is annoying. It's quite stressful for someone who has come from far away and is tired and finally arrives at the hotel. I look forward to the future. The staff's service is polite and elegant, and the location is very close to the station, so I would like to use it again in the future. Personally, I don't think it's necessary to serve customers with masks. I remember that the WHO also announced that masks are not effective for either coronavirus or influenza. Japan is the only country that is lagging behind in wearing masks, and it has become part of the etiquette at work, but it's scary to serve customers without seeing their faces.

We stayed at Sanco Inn Kuwana for a night when we were in town to attend a wedding and found it to be a small but well-equipped hotel in a quiet, charming town. While the room and bathroom were quite compact—just enough space to open one suitcase—they thoughtfully included a small bathtub, though it may be a tight fit for taller guests when showering. It was adequate for us (a family of 2 adults 1 toddler) The hotel impressed us with its attention to detail, offering various types of pillows and night robes in different sizes, even for children. Breakfast was a concise but well-curated selection. It’s best to come down early, as seating can be limited and there may be a queue for food. Conveniently, takeaway boxes were also available for those who prefer to eat on the go. The location was great, with several convenience stores nearby and the train station just a few minutes’ walk away. A comfortable and practical stay for a short trip!

Family run accommodation which doesn't feel like commercial hotels. It feels so homely with daily breakfast provided and served with their hearts. Right behind is a small floating platforms where you'll see baskets of scallops, oysters and also big fishes in nets. I chose this place because of this where I can just go to the back and start fishing with wonderful views all around. Parking lots are limited but was lucky to always come back with a lot available. Older gentleman was very kind to share how to fish even though there's a language barrier. Overall a very nice secluded area if you like peace and serenity. And fishing too of course.

Mainly there is really nothing to live in this neighborhood. This 12 o'clock curfew, about 6 minutes walk from Kumano City Station, there is nothing to eat nearby, but there is a big supermarket next to it. The hotel has a 12 o'clock curfew, there is a self-service vending machine in the building to sell wine and instant noodles, but it is still cheap in the supermarket next door. In the morning, you can go to the beach to watch the sunrise, which is very beautiful.

I made a reservation because it was just cheaper for a business trip. If you go nearby, the outer wall construction? Scaffolding ＆ curtain? I was a little surprised. huh? Is there such a guide? When. I think it's a long-term construction, so I think it's better to have a guide that you can understand at the time of booking. The scenery is no problem because it is not to open the window and enjoy it. I'm sure there will be noise in the time zone. I didn't care during my stay. The staff responded politely when I left my luggage early on the day and when I checked in. The facilities are quite old (the washbasin is cracked) but I think it is cleaned. I can use it without any problems and I would like to ask again. Thank you for your help.

Beautiful location and amazing room with view (book a sea view room). Owner went out of his way to help and was quick to advise me of bad weather forecast and not to attempt mountain passes the next day. Really great breakfast and good public bath. Next door to a shrine with a 1,000 year old camphor tree. Only shame no dinner available and no restaurants close by so not ideal for walkers but if shop ahead then totally worth it. Again host is great.

Anyway, for the price it was better than I expected. I was especially happy that I could park for free even though it was so close to the station. It may have been because it was a weekday, but it was quiet and I was able to relax. Can't you do something about the slippers?

The location is convenient. It takes 5 minutes to walk to Yokkaichi Station. There are not many parking spaces in the hotel, but there is a parking lot opposite for 24 hours for 700 yen. It is more peaceful than parking in the hotel. The room is not nice but the design is old. The toilet has a slight drainage smell Hotel staff and service are very good. Free coffee and tea are provided in the lobby. Behind the hotel is the crab shop which is very famous for eating crabs. It’s worth a try.

Very nice and welcoming owner. Good way very good and hotel a 3 star ryokan with private onsen, which we used alone in the evening. Cafes and nice shrine very short by. Also don’t miss the museum and story of the pearl diver women in that village! If you look for a small village at the coast, it is very natural and less touristic there!
