Located at the end of the mountain range north of No. 42 National Road connecting the Jishi Peninsula to the Ise/Nagoya area, the price has included breakfast, next to the Aeon supermarket, the best overnight spot for renting a car to and from Nagoya <> Jishi Peninsula
I chose this place on the way to Ise Road. The traffic is a bit inconvenient. Xiaoyun takes the fork road and needs to take a taxi to the rest station. Or make an appointment with the hotel in advance. There is a shuttle service to the Xingong. The room is good. It has its own restaurant. You can eat delicious food without ordering. The local chicken is very good, the service is very careful and serious, the large bathroom in the canyon is also very comfortable, clean and tidy, the next day, it is convenient to go to the wind and clouds, the hotel is very cost-effective, and it is worth choosing to have the opportunity to play here.
The phone in the room rang in the middle of the night! I was worried that the children of elementary school students who were staying in the opposite room were noisy and worried about the wrong phone ❓ from other rooms.
The hotel person is kind.
I wish I could choose bread and rice in the morning.
The coffee was very delicious.
Stayed here for five days, it is too beautiful to say, the boss and the proprietress are super good, the scenery is charming. That is, breakfast is fixed for one person every day, all the same, there is no choice, if you live for a long time, you will be tired of breakfast.
I travel here every year and stay here next time.
In terms of price and quality, the excellent option.
One of the staff members is almost perfect English and has helped me solve my problems very much. The others were also very friendly and hospitality.
It was a double room, but it was spacious and comfortable.
The bathroom had not only a bathtub but also a washing area, which was very nice. The breakfast was also ample, with bread, cereal, curry, sausages, salad, etc.
The only disappointment was that there was a gap around the entrance door, so you could hear people walking around outside.
Other than that, there were no problems.
Like a guesthouse, stay one night can not be too many requirements, is ok acceptable, in the morning look up the window door, see all the quilts, what is not dry cleaning? Maybe a family business, the whole family can be harmonious and answer all questions
KKennyMy stay at Shima Hantou in Shima City, Japan was a delightful experience. The location of the hotel is convenient, earning it a solid 4 out of 5 rating. Although it is a bit far from Ise City, it's easily accessible by car, with just a 1-hour journey.
The hotel's cleanliness also deserves a commendable 4 out of 5 rating. As a traditional Japanese hotel, the exterior has a charming appeal. While the interior design may not be the most modern, it is still well-maintained and clean.
One aspect that truly stood out during my stay was the exceptional service provided by the staff. They were incredibly friendly, accommodating, and always ready to assist, earning a perfect 5 out of 5 rating for service.
In terms of facilities, the hotel offers a basic hot spring bath, which was a relaxing experience. However, it's worth noting that there is only one pool for bathing, and the absence of a cold water bath and sauna facilities somewhat limited the options. Therefore, I would rate the facilities as 4 out of 5.
Overall, I highly recommend Shima Hantou for a pleasant stay in Shima City. The location, cleanliness, and exceptional service make it a great choice for travelers seeking a traditional Japanese hotel experience.
11228mandyThe hotel is relatively new and has a parking lot for self-driving guests. There is also a railway nearby, the location is very good! There is self-service coffee available, and toiletries are also provided for passengers, which is quite satisfying!

FFrancisBeautiful location and amazing room with view (book a sea view room). Owner went out of his way to help and was quick to advise me of bad weather forecast and not to attempt mountain passes the next day. Really great breakfast and good public bath. Next door to a shrine with a 1,000 year old camphor tree. Only shame no dinner available and no restaurants close by so not ideal for walkers but if shop ahead then totally worth it. Again host is great.
GGuest UserI usually stay here when I have work in Tsu City.
The price is very cheap and the room itself isn't very nice, but if you're just looking to sleep, I don't think it's a problem.
GGuest UserWe were met with such excellent hospitality with Rina and the New Hamaguchi-ya staff. They were thoughtful with their service, the meals provided were definitely prepared with love and great care. Despite the language barriers, we were treated very well and we would definitely come back and stay again!
임임네닉There aren't many restaurants around. There's a mart if you walk a little, and there are shops like izakayas and ramen shops around the station. Food is only allowed in the public areas. It's a guesthouse, but it's clean. The public bathrooms are clean too!
I didn't take any pictures of the accommodation... Would you like to see pictures of snacks I took at the accommodation before you go?
DDellAn older building but they can arrange for you to use the public bath at the Station Hotel just a a few minutes’ walk to the Nishi-Kuwana station. Location is fine with an APiTA supermarket quite close and a Matsuya for cheap meals. The older gentleman at the front desk speaks fluent English.
GGuest UserWhat a lovely hotel! My room was incredible, it was so comfortable and perfect after a day of hiking. I used the onsen as well which was lovely. Shared bathroom was very clean and nice. This was my favorite place to stay on the path of the Kumano Kodo.
