2-Star Hotels in Southern Peninsula, Iceland

The hotel is a converted barracks left by the US military. It has two floors and an elevator that can handle luggage. It's clean and tidy, and there are taxis available at the front desk for airport transfers. We were on a tour; it seems inconvenient for independent travelers without a car.

The hotel service was great, and the staff were warm and friendly. Both check-in and check-out were very efficient, and the facilities were quite comprehensive. However, the overall room environment and cleanliness were just average; some areas felt a bit dated, and there's room for improvement in detailed cleaning. The location is convenient for catching a flight or for a layover, as it's close to Keflavik Airport. Overall, the value for money is pretty good.

Clean but very small room. Window was rusted and could not be fully closed. Would be nice to have a few more shelves/racks. Excellent early breakfast for early flights.

We stayed our last night and were pleasantly surprised. Very nice atmosphere, with a good breakfast. Upon our arrival we were able to relax in the outdoor jacuzzi and enjoyed a very pleasant conversation with Cristina who welcomed us and made us feel at home. We would not hesitate to stay again
