GGuest UserIt was just an absolutely amazing experience from the very beginning and until the very end of our stay, not even just in the hotel, but in the city of Pingyao itself in general. Me and my friend are traveling very light and without guides, and in Pingyao we had only one day: from evening to evening of the next day. Huge huge thanks to everyone who made this day unforgettable and ultimately comfortable for tired us: Alice, Helen, Fenny, Hana, and all others who was there for us.
The hotel service is simply excellent: as soon as they learned about our late arrival, they immediately offered to meet us at the railway station, which was absolutely the sweetest thing. They brought us to the city gate, met us there, and walked us to the hotel. There they gave us a map, on which they explained in great detail where everything is, what is worth paying attention to, how it is better to build the route, and what opening hours different sights have. They also helped us organize a private transfer to Shaolin Temple the next morning. It was just perfect: we got there in 15 minutes instead of one and a half hours by foot, and after our walk in the temple they met us and brought us back. Also on the evening of arrival they helped us immediately buy the ticket for visiting all attractions of the city, valid for three days. And also they advised us where to eat, and gave us a hotel discount in both places. We did not regret it even once, the food was amazingly delicious in both places!
The hotel itself is just wonderful: it really looks exactly like in the photos. You want to photograph every corner and record how the sparrows are chirping on the roof, and how two wonderful cats are meowing. The room also matches and even exceeds expectations. A huge kang bed, very comfortable. Excellent shower with everything needed. Breakfast is included in the stay: the traditional Chinese one was very tasty! Unfortunately, we did not manage to eat the egg, it was freshly boiled and still hot, but we were hurrying to Shaolin Temple by opening time. Also the hotel has a laundry service, and special thanks for that too! Washing and drying were very fast, and we got our nicely smelling clothes back already after four hours, which was critical for us, because we were leaving the same day.
We felt like we really were honored guests, and we really appreciated it, even if only for one day.

GGuest UserThe owner contacted us ahead of time and was very friendly and helpful. They provided essentially all the amenities we needed. The highlight was the generous and delicious breakfast, and the courtyard offered a charming view. As I was checking out, I even got to pick an apple from the owner's apple tree to eat – what a lovely touch! I would definitely choose to stay here again if I return to Datong.

GGuest UserIve just left the Inn and on the train to the next destination. I wish I could stay longer as this was such a pleasant stay. The boss lady was so nice. I booked just a basic room but got upgraded to almost a studio flat with separate bedroom in the mezzanine and lounge downstairs. Everytime I come back from sightseeing, all hot tired, the boss lady gave me a bowl of delicious melons. It was sweet and juicy. The best melons I have had. The second time she also gave me bananas. It was so much needed.
The hotel is in the perfect location. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
1. From Datongnan station there are buses 608 or 61 which takes you directly to Huayansi stop, less than 1min from the hotel. However, the hotel frontage is a jewelry shop, I didn't know so ended up walking up/down the street for 10mins before the boss lady realised and came out to tell me I have arrived.
2. If you want to go to Yungang Grottoes. From the same bus stop take bus 38, then change to bus 3 to get to the Grottoes. Journey time about an hour in total. And cost 4RMB (2RMB per bus). However, you have to set up some kind of public travel app from Wechat to get the QR code to pay the bus fare. I didn't know this. Fortunately, some nice people helped pay my fare, then another lovely girl helped set up the app enabling me to use the bus from then as when I arrived and took the bus from the train station to hotel Wechatpay didn't work. Fortunately the driver let me ride for free as I guess he realised Im foreign and don't have this app. Only when I took the bus to Yungang Grottoes, the girl told me I need to set up the travel app etc and helped me set it up.
3. The hotel is also right opposite to the Huayan temple. A beautiful ancient temple. Deffo can't be missed.

CChenchenyangyangdedangaoayiI visited Pingyao with my 89-year-old mother, and Pusha is located on Chenghuangmiao Street, which is absolutely a prime location for accommodation within Pingyao Ancient City. It's not far from the main attractions, and just a short walk to Nanda Street, where many good restaurants are clustered. Choosing Pusha for a trip to the ancient city is definitely the right choice.
The owner was very responsible and contacted us via WeChat two days in advance to ask about our arrival time. He gave detailed instructions on where to take a taxi, and the staff even picked up and dropped off our luggage from the New East Gate, making our arrival and departure hassle-free.
The courtyard has typical Shanxi residential features. We chose a twin room, which was quite spacious, and the beds were very comfortable. My mother went back to the hotel early to rest and wanted to watch TV but couldn't figure out how to operate it. The owner, a young man, was incredibly patient. He spent over half an hour helping her and even left his own phone for her to cast TV shows. The service was truly excellent!👍

GGuest UserA very unique courtyard B&B inn. The rooms are clean, tidy and antique. The inn is located on the West Street of the Old City. It is right on the pedestrian street. It is very close to the Rishengchang Bank and the county government. The boss is very enthusiastic and the service is very good. I will give you a tip in advance. We sent location navigation and helped us pick up and drop off our luggage from the parking lot 🅿️. They introduced the ancient city travel suggestions in detail and arranged an ancient city guide for us to have an in-depth understanding of Pingyao’s historical and cultural heritage. GGuest UserAs a solo traveler, I was a little apprehensive before my trip, secretly hoping there wouldn't be any unpleasant surprises, but it turns out I worried too much. This place boasts an excellent location in Wulong Alley, with beautiful surroundings that are safe and comfortable, and fully equipped facilities. Because it's not right next to the busiest snack streets, it's very quiet at night, allowing for a truly restful sleep – huge thumbs up! It's close to the North City Wall and convenient for visiting attractions like Huayan Temple, Daiwangfu, and the Nine Dragon Screen in the ancient city. It was also easy to reach all the eateries on my must-try list, such as Longjuxiang, Zini 369, Heshengcai, and Xijindao Snacks, and I managed to check them all off! I passed by Kuixing Tower and its wishing doll countless times; perhaps it was fate, haha 😄. For those who are too lazy to even walk a kilometer, there are shared bikes available. The owner is incredibly welcoming; they contacted me half a day in advance, added me on WeChat, and waited for me at the entrance. They went over all the important details and even asked about my breakfast preferences for the next day. The breakfast itself was perfectly portioned, exquisite, and nutritious. This place exceeded my expectations, another big thumbs up! Choosing this accommodation has made me even more excited for future solo travels. I hope the owner's business thrives, and I look forward to returning with my child and family sometime in the future for another visit.

Llandscape456The host was very nice, understanding our needs in advance and personally picking us up from the parking lot to help with our luggage. The room was clean and hygienic, the bathroom was very large, and the toiletries were of good quality. The guesthouse is located in a residential area with antique-style buildings, mostly run by guesthouses; currently, parking is available on the roadside outside the complex. There are many restaurants nearby, but getting breakfast isn't very convenient. The old town center is about 1.6 kilometers from the guesthouse.

AAnonymous User對於渾源縣物價來説，這個房價委實有點高，畢竟五一也可以理解，但是後來發現比渾源的四星級酒店房價還高。樓下的餐飲好像很有名，很多人在吃飯。但是攜程上的外觀圖應該改一下，有點誤導消費者，我一開始還以為這酒店外觀顏值很高才選者的。前台感覺就是餐飲的收費處，門面不像酒店住宿。感覺不太好，房間內部倒是挺乾淨，還可以看到衡山。

RRoshan_hotmailWe had a fantastic stay here, largely thanks to the incredibly helpful and kind host. The hotel is housed in a 300-year-old building, giving you a beautiful, authentic experience of ancient China, but the interior is fully updated and very calm.
Arrival and Service: The host is highly organized. They arranged a free shuttle to pick us up the moment we stepped out of the Pingyao Gucheng railway station, and provided a free drop-off when it was time to leave. Upon arrival, the host sat down with a map, clearly explained how to navigate the walled city, and gave us great advice on what to prioritize.
The Room: It looks ancient from the outside, but it is a spacious, spotlessly clean, modern hotel room on the inside. It features a large flat-screen TV and a smart voice-control system for the lights. The bathroom was immaculate and entirely modern, complete with an excellent shower and a heated toilet seat. I cannot believe they provide a room of this quality for such an affordable price. It is truly worth it.
Location & Breakfast: The hotel is in a very convenient spot inside the Pingyao city walls, just a 10-minute walk to the evening light show. Breakfast is included. Rather than a standard buffet, they serve a nice traditional set meal featuring millet porridge (xiaomi), fried vegetables, and eggs (see my uploaded pictures).
I highly recommend this place if you want top-tier hospitality and a clean, comfortable blend of ancient atmosphere and modern convenience.

AAnonymous UserI previously spent a few days at another hotel that was too far away from all the temples.
So I decided to book a few days at this hotel and I'm really happy that I did!
A lot of things are within walking distance, and the main temple cluster is only two or three stops away on the free shuttle bus service (No 8)

- Convenience Store
- Fruit shops
- ATM machines
- Puhua Temple (peaceful and free lunch and dinner)
- Small lake and park
- Nanshan Temple (really peaceful)
Two/three stops away by bus:
- Main temple cluster
Room is spacious and the bins were changed daily.
The staff were really helpful and accommodating even though I couldn't speak Chinese. They were really friendly and warm, and never hesistated to answer any of my queries.
Highly recommend this hotel!
