It is a very good hostel they have daily cleaning of common areas as well as the rooms. The kitchen is well maintained and if ever there’s a problem the staff are there to help.

The room was very clean, which was great. I had to leave early in the morning this time, so I didn't get to have breakfast.
As a solo female traveler, having the toilets and showers on the same floor as the men made me feel a little uneasy. In particular, I was concerned about the large gap at the bottom of the shower room door, making it visible from the outside.
I thought it was great that it was close to the station, but since the train service was infrequent, I ended up taking a taxi. (I wish I had looked into that beforehand.)
This apartment faces out to the ocean, it has great views from every room, the apartment is old and not modern, but if you’re looking for a reasonably priced beach front apartment with a great location, and free onsite parking, then this is the one.

I recently stayed at Hides Hotel during a trip to Cairns and was pleasantly surprised by the value and charm this heritage-style hotel offers.
The location is absolutely unbeatable—right in the heart of the city and within walking distance of the Esplanade, night markets, Reef Fleet Terminal, and plenty of restaurants and cafes. Whether you’re heading out for a reef tour or just exploring the local area, Hides is a super convenient base.
The room was basic but clean and comfortable. It had everything I needed, including air-conditioning (a must in Cairns!), a small fridge, and free Wi-Fi. The building itself has an old-school character that’s a bit different from your typical chain hotels, which I actually really liked—it feels like you’re staying somewhere with history.
Staff were friendly and helpful throughout my stay, happy to give recommendations and assist with bookings. There’s also a lovely wide veranda on the upper level, which is a great spot to relax in the evening and take in the atmosphere of the city.
Only downside was that the hotel is a bit dated in places, and depending on the room you’re in, you might hear a bit of street noise—but that’s to be expected in a central location like this.
Overall, Hides Hotel is a great choice for budget-conscious travelers who want clean, central, no-fuss accommodation with character. I’d definitely consider staying again.

We arrived by train and although the hotel is very close to the station the signage is pathetic and leads to a parking... it's very ambiguous... finally we reached the hotel entrance by rolling our cases along the road trying to avoid the cars!!! The check in is not great and not as friendly as other hotels in the World, just because it is automated and sometimes completely UNATTENDED...
For the price the reception should be manned and NOT AUTOMATED... where is the WELCOMING SMILE in a machine???
Due to slow drainage in the bathroom that wasn't fixed, the hotel moved us to an upstairs room. It was a huge improvement from the previous one; the room and bathroom were spacious and clean, both with large windows that opened, offering a great view.

The room hygiene and service were both excellent, and the swimming pool was great too. The hotel is also very close to the seaside promenade, and the price was just right!
I was booking at trip.com, but I was likely to be pulled down by a bank card without confirming at check-in. When I told you that I had already finished payment many times, I finally went to the back room to confirm.
There is also a casino on the first floor and it is noisy with the explosion until midnight.
Although it was due to heavy rain, the floor of the room was soaked and all the bags were wet.

I am not expecting that it will be as quiet as i wanted coz i am on a 4 beds room. But i was concerned with the blanket coz not the same as before it was thick it was a comforter and now its just a flat sheet and its so cold. I miss the old one. But still thankful for the staff’s accommodation and granting my request to be on the bottom bunk.

Stayed here for 2 nights. Reception staff were friendly, helpful, and professional. The room was clean and tidy. The food at G floor was delicious and reasonably priced (had the lunch deal). Overall, it was a very pleasant stay.
The downsides are that,
1) the hotel is situated on top of a hill and getting there on foot with luggage wasn't great (budget traveller). I definitely would recommend uber-ing there despite its prime location to the city central, especially if you've got heavy or lots of luggage.
2) the walls are relatively thin and in the wee hours of the morning, I heard people running around the hallway and talking loudly which woke me up from my sleep (and I'm not a light sleeper). On another separate occasion, I also overheard a conversation from the next-door occupant, who was speaking loudly over the phone for over an hour. A little annoyed by the noise but otherwise everything else was a good experience!
Very Good

Pleasantly surprised by this spacious comfortable room. Will stay here again when coming to Brisbane.
I was going to a game at the Gabba , and wanted to stay overnight. This was the cheapest room I could find in a short walking distance , when I saw the price , compared to other hotels in the area , I wasnt expecting much. Pleasantly surprised to find a much better standard of room than I was expecting. the room is small but very clean and everything I needed for a one night stay , Tv , Air Cond , Tea & Coffee , clean sheets and well made bed. Bathroom had been recently renovated which was a nice surprise. If you're looking for an affordable short stay with great location to gabba , definately yes. Would I stay there again , absolutely
