Villa Hotel
"Positives - I booked a night in this hotel because it is only a short distance from the local airport and I was catching a small plane to Colombo with Cinnamon Air. The hotel was on the waterfront with great views across the harbour. It had kerbside appeal and looked good on arrival. There was a restaurant in the hotel, so it was easy to get a relatively cheap and tasty evening meal and the staff were friendly and extremely helpful. They booked me a tuk tuk to take me to the airport the following day, they were careful with the food they prepared ensuring it didn't contain any chilli (allergy), and came promptly to replace the kettle when it fused the electricity in my room leaving me without power briefly. Negatives - There didn't appear to be any lifts and there were a lot of steep narrow stairs which would have been difficult with suitcases - luckily I only had a rucksack When I arrived, I saw that there was a small temple opposite, which I initially thought was a nice part of the view. However, I had obviously unknowingly booked during a festival and the extremely loud music and celebrations went on all night! I wasn't warned about this and the hotel had little sound proofing. The staff said that their other guests were ringing them at all hours to complain about the noise and the fact they couldn't get any sleep. I always carry earplugs with me and they blotted out a lot of the noise so l did get some sleep. If you want to stay here, I would check in advance with the staff about any festivals that may fall on your chosen dates. Overall it was very reasonable for the price."
Neem Tree House, Trincomalee
"Tranquil green space beside Trincomalee’s Main Street created by the owner Mali. Good stay topped with a personal touch- Mali prepared an Italian breakfast for us bruschetta with local fish Yummy 👍🏻"
Nilaveli Beach Hotel
"The hotel provided a beautiful experience with a stunning candle lit dinner on the beach! A once in a life time experience!"
Nilaveli Royal Paradise
"A truly fantastic hotel, very clean, the staff is always available and you feel like royalty. The food is excellent and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. We had a wonderful time relaxing!"
Havana Club Resort
"The location was perfect, about a 3-minute walk to the beach. There are shops nearby, so this is the perfect hotel for a relaxing beachside stay. The room was clean, but it would have been better if there were more amenities, such as a hairdryer."
Aa Inn
"The price and quality correspond. Cleaning is only on request, and the linen is not changed. There are no shampoos or conditioners, they put a small soap. The staff is polite and friendly. There is a parking lot, air conditioning in the room, weak wi-fi. In general, a simple and budget hotel, worth the money. Of course, you should not expect something extraordinary."
Anukama Resort
"From the moment we arrived we felt so welcome! Everybody was nice and friendly. We could ask for everything. The breakfast was delishes. The room was spacious und very clean. All in all we had a great stay there. Highly recommended - we would definitiv come back 🤗"
Hotel Jay R
"Actually that hotel facilities are very nice. And also their customer services were very superb❤️Thank you for your greatful service"
Jungle Beach an Uga Experience - Trincomalee
"The hotel staff is extremely friendly. But facilities are not as good. Many mosquitoes. Not a lot of food selection for dinner. Not worth the price."

Hotel Tobiko
"Late review! A nice place in Trinco. We went on a family trip. The premises were in a good location and the sea is a minute away. They have a big parking lot. Hospitality was exceptional. Aunty and Uncle were super friendly and helpful. Especially the breakfast. We ordered Sri Lankan breakfast as well as English breakfast. It was super delicious. The rooms were clean and well-organized. They have cute pets too. Overall, a good place to stay in Trinco. Highly recommended."
Sea Zone Hotel Nilaveli
"We stayed at this hotel on a family trip and were absolutely delighted! The rooms were clean and well-kept, which is a priority for us, especially when traveling with children. The hotel is located in a great location - very close to the beach, which was a big plus because we love spending time by the sea. We were there off-season and there was only one place to swim, a few steps from the nearest beach entrance to the hotel. The area is quiet and peaceful, perfect for a family vacation. There is a restaurant on site that serves delicious dishes. The cuisine is very good, and the food is fresh and tasty. An additional advantage of the hotel is the staff, who are extremely helpful and friendly. They were always smiling and willing to help. We would especially like to thank the staff for organizing a trip to the national park for us. At first we thought it would be impossible because local travel agencies did not offer such trips. However, the hotel staff did everything to help us and organized a private trip for us with an external operator, even though they offer such trips themselves! Thanks to this, we were able to see beautiful landscapes and spend unforgettable moments in Pigeon Island National Park. We will come back here again!"
Nilaveli Boutique Hotel
"A terrible experience. Our plan was to relax and do PADI diving, so we booked for three nights with a 24-hour cancellation policy. The room was awful; it smelled damp, crows were croaking on the ceiling, and it was very noisy. The window wouldn't even open. The room was actually more expensive than many other options in Upuveli or other more interesting areas. The worst part is that we only stayed one night and canceled the other two because they didn't give us any trouble. They told us they would refund our money, then excused themselves by saying that Booking.com's policies didn't allow it. A complete lie. Then they said they would refund it but that they weren't a big hotel and couldn't afford such excuses. Two weeks later, we're still waiting for a refund of about €80. Day after day, they keep giving us the runaround, saying they've gone to the bank and the transfer should be arriving soon, but we never get an answer. I don't recommend this place so you don't have the same bad experience we did. The room we were assigned was nothing like the ones shown in the pictures on ***********, TripAdvisor, or Google. There's nothing around, and few restaurants. The receptionist was very friendly and the breakfast was very good. The cancellation and refund process was terrible."
Casamia Oceanfront Condo Nilaveli
C Beyond Nilaveli
"A gorgeous boutique hotel - lovely rooms, tasteful decoration, great service and delicious food. The beach in front of the property is stunning (and deserted except for hotel guests and fishermen) and kept very clean. Very convenient and well-organised boat trips to Pigeon Island and Dolphin/whales spotting departed from the beach right outside the hotel. Our family stayed in a family room initially which was lovely and had an enormous bathroom and outside shower, then on the last night we moved to a private villa by the beach with a plunge pool and that was very special. We loved our stay as a family and the manager and staff looked after us all very well, including catering for my daughter's milk and egg allergy."
Thirumalai Park
"One of the worst hotels on the island...no air conditioning, the stuffiness is terrible. We spent two nights here. I had nightmares... I woke up every hour from lack of air. There is no hot water provided. The linen is of terrible quality... it feels like bed fleas are biting. 850 meters from the beach. Walk along the country road. There are a lot of cows and dogs on the beach. Quite dirty. On the left side is a security zone with a radiation sign. After 18:00 we couldn’t get to the beach due to a lot of wild and angry dogs... this is also the first time I’ve seen it. The food at the hotel is tasteless, they don’t know how to cook at all. And very expensive at that. 6,000 rupees for two for tuna overcooked to black and fresh juice from who knows what. There are a lot of intrusive dogs on the hotel premises that rush at you from all angles. God forbid you end up with food in your hands. To get into the room you have to work hard to drive them away. There is nowhere to eat outside the hotel. This is a village."
Secret Escape Nilaveli Ayurveda Hotel & Spa
"There is no facility that they mention here. Not as beautiful as in the photos. The kitchen is not clean and Additional money is charged for kitchen equipment.. Only the money required by the owner. I will never recommend to anyone this place. I'm very unsatisfied. 😡(Only minor servants are innocent)"
Amaranthe Bay Resort & Spa
"Hotel facilities and hotel staff all were fabulous We have a very nice stay here Room sizes, breakfast, view of the hotel, everything is super fantastic and amazing I will say the best stay we have in whole Sri Lanka trip is at amaranthe resort. Mr Sri mayuran, is a fantastic person He helped us a lot in getting our room upgraded and make our trip more memorable Thank you amaranthe for such a pleasant stay."
WoodyCrest
"The hotel consists of two two-story houses. The location is excellent, there is only another small hotel nearby. Very quiet and peaceful place. 5 minutes to the main road. 15 minutes to the beach. Friendly caretaker. If something is missing, he will organize everything! Breakfast is brought to the room, there is no kitchen or dining room. There are problems with ants, but they only appear if you leave open food for a long time. Gorgeous balcony on the second floor with a view of the ocean and mountains. Panoramic windows are cool."
Ceylon Beach Haven Uppuveli
"We stayed only one night so could say much. But stuff was very friendly, near the beach, simple rooms and small but very comfortable breakfeast. Maybe to simple place for long stay but nice in general"
Akki's Hostel
"The beach is very close and the mother of the owner is really helpful and nice. It’s good for solo travellers."
