Amazing
AAnonymous UserFirst impression of the lobby is grand yet intimate. They escort you to a table and bring a welcome drink while checking you in. The rooms are large with a wonderful view. The rooms look just like the photos. Breakfasts are great, they make Eggs Benedict every morning. One day there was mango juice. Green smoothie every day. You can also get soba noodles cooked. You can even exchange breakfast for lunch at the hotel next door, and use their larger pools there. The room description mentioned a sea view, but on the third floor, a triangular roof slightly obstructs it, though the view is still incredible.

GGuest User. Halekulani Okinawa is an outstanding resort that delivers exactly what you expect from the brand: impeccable service, exceptional comfort, and a deep sense of calm. The service is flawless—attentive, warm, and genuinely thoughtful without ever feeling intrusive. The rooms are extremely comfortable, beautifully designed, and perfectly suited for a slow, restorative stay. The surrounding nature is stunning, and the resort feels well integrated into its landscape, which adds a lot to the overall experience. We stayed in December, and despite it being winter, the atmosphere was still incredibly pleasant and charming. The main pool does not operate in winter, but honestly, it doesn’t feel like a drawback at all—there is so much more to the property than the pool. Breakfast deserves a special mention: it is excellent, with high-quality ingredients and great variety. I highly recommend trying breakfast in different restaurants during your stay, as each offers a slightly different experience. Overall, Halekulani Okinawa is a refined, serene, and beautifully executed resort. A perfect choice for those who value comfort, service, and atmosphere over loud entertainment—even in the winter season.

YYan ReevesWe had spent 4 nights at the hotel during the Golden Week which might have influenced the perception of service, but not dramatically. Among the advantages of the hotel are: nice spacious rooms (ours had a stunning sea view); generally good location with beautiful nature and access to the beaches where you could actually swim (not a given on the island) - at least until the tide goes too low; reasonably good food across the restaurants with rather friendly prices; stylish bar with quality drinks. Among the disadvantages are: very non-Japanese service (generally not very helpful, with low penetration of English among the staff) and lack of attention to detail that could make the resort actually very nice - again, not very typical case for Japan. A few pieces of advice to the management: 1. Bring the option of in-room breakfast. If a guest is sick and can’t go down, it’s impossible to order in-room breakfast on the day, while rooms service opens at 11:30. Same frustration goes to the coffee stall downstairs that doesn’t serve coffee during earlier breakfast hours 2. Consider equipping rooms with coffee machines and contemporary electronics - low costs to take, yet massive disadvantage for the 5* status for not having them 3. Pay more attention to room service: we spent 48h without shampoo and shower gel. Our glasses were washed occasionally. New bottles of drinking water arrived only once. 4. Fix the beach! The amenities there look like a poor community beach area, especially those shameful umbrellas. You have reasonable amenities at the pool - why not spreading them to the beach areas to make them feel more like a resort rather than public beaches that no one gave any care? 5. Gym and SPA amenities could use a bit of refreshment. I won’t mention SPA service itself which might be a result of poor luck with the specific technician 6. Empty mini bar equals lost revenue. You could easily cover the modifications above through adding more options for people to enjoy drinks at their balconies. What makes staying in Japan truly special - genuine care and attention to every detail - was completely missing over our stay at this Hyatt. In fact, we consistently had that feeling “this could actually be really nice” and then something would go terribly wrong with the awkward service. The hotel that looks like 5* on pictures leaves a 3* aftertaste at max. I am only writing this because I felt it didn’t have to - those are easy aspects to fix.

GGuest UserThis development consists of a hotel, a condominium and an annex building; my booking was in the condominium and it was a large one bedroom, one tatami space with a kitchen, one powder room , one bathroom plus another toilet. There was also a walk in closet area by the entrance. The hotel building and the condominium building had similar facing—sea view from living room and golf course view from the entrance. In the condominium you have a washing machine and laundry liquid provided but people in the hotel can use laundry facilities on the second floor. Lots of restaurants nearby. What a great place to stay!!

RRiya123The hotel is located quite far from the airport, it takes about two hours by bus. It is very convenient that there is a private beach, which you can get to directly from the hotel. The room has everything you need: a refrigerator, a thermos, toiletries. The room stock itself is a bit tired, the hotel is about 50 years old. The staff is friendly. There are minimarkets with everything you need within walking distance. Of the minuses: very expensive food, I did not take it. In neighboring restaurants, having lunch or dinner is several times cheaper. Another thing that was offending was that even sun loungers on the beach for hotel guests are paid, in my opinion, this is too much. There was also a strange situation with swimming: a net from jellyfish was installed on the beach, but in addition to the net itself, there were buoys and in the middle part of the fenced off area there were buoys. For some reason, they did not allow you to swim beyond the middle buoys, although in fact it is just a floating rope with buoys, and the net is installed much further. As a result, you feel like you are in a paddling pool and cannot swim normally.

GGuest UserSuitable for families and road trips, this is a convenient stopover. Easy to travel north to Churaumi Aquarium and Kouri Island, or to plan your central itinerary. Convenience stores and restaurants are within walking distance. Parking is available for those driving; quiet nights ensure a good night's sleep. Spacious rooms include a kitchen and washing machine (no dryer, so please be aware that thick winter clothes may take longer to dry). Simple breakfast options are provided, along with complimentary tea and coffee. Perfect for those who don't crave a resort-style hotel or a lavish breakfast, and value spaciousness and flexibility in their itinerary. Overall, a great stay; unanimously praised by my family! 👍

GGuest UserJust as you'd expect from a Hoshino Resort property. The place was spotless, and the amenities were excellent. Beyond the in-house cafe, the food trucks parked outside offered a great variety of dining options, giving guests more freedom of choice. My only slight surprise was finding a small insect in the room, but given the natural surroundings, it's probably unavoidable.

AAnonymous UserThe hotel is great, big brands really do stand out. The breakfast was also very good. All facilities within the hotel require an additional charge, but the service was excellent. The room was quite spacious too. Overall, it was a good stay, and I'd book here again.

GGuest UserThis is a traditional Japanese hotel and it's very clean overall. The large public bath is open until midnight. However, there aren't many restaurants nearby. The hotel has a small beach where many locals enjoy water activities. Overall, it's great, and I'd come back again. The price is also very reasonable, so I'm very satisfied! You can choose between a bed or a futon on tatami, but you can only pick one option, otherwise there's an extra charge. I didn't confirm the details with the hotel, but if you want to sleep on tatami, I recommend checking with the staff beforehand to see if both guests need to choose the same sleeping arrangement. The bed is also very large; two adults and one child can sleep comfortably without feeling cramped.

EEnzo & DanyThe hotel built around the pool is made of brick, while the other parts are large containers called chelet. The latter are very comfortable, large and functional. Ours had two queen-size beds and a mezzanine with three other beds where three children could fit. The bathroom, although small, lacked nothing. Very hot water, easily adjustable. There was also a sofa and a small table. The accessories included a washing machine and dryer, very convenient. The containers/chalets are painted in a nice way. The pool is really large and impeccably kept. The only negative note is the climb if you don't have a means of transport, which, especially with suitcases, is demanding. The staff is very helpful in everything.
