4-Star Hotels in Yangon

I prefer Wyndham as a solo traveler but going with my partner, we decided on a bigger room and the 2 bedroom offered by Kantharyar was perfect. Dual washer and dryer saved me from hotel laundry service. Rooms are big, housekeeping came daily, checking in was quick and easy. Can't complain, service and amenities are superb. The Kantharyar come with the same amenities as Wyndham, you get the pool, small gym, and there's a shopping mall right next door.

I commend all staff for your excellent service and attention to detail. You maintain the high standards of Myanmar hospitality, and I thank you all. In particular, I really loved the view of Shwedagon Pagoda from my room. You have an excellent location as well, and the breakfast is hearty and satisfying. I would like to especially thank the following staff: Thinn Zar and Harry — thank you for attending to me and accommodating my late dinner request Thet Aung Linn — I really appreciated his service as a trainee, and I note his potential. Warning: Major language barriers and smoking issues at this new hotel While this is a newly built hotel, I was shocked by the lack of English proficiency at a 5-star establishment in Yangon. The front desk staff spoke only Mandarin and Burnmese. Ironically, the IT technician was the only person who understood a bit of English, which was the only redeeming factor regarding communication. Key issues for international travelers: Language Barrier: Do not expect to use English with the reception; it is primarily a Mandarin-speaking environment. Smoking Regulation: Despite ”No Smoking” signs in the lobby lounge, guests were smoking openly on the coffee tables. I also encountered guests smoking in the hallways and elevator lobbies on the guest floors. It felt as though I was in China rather than Myanmar. Dining: The breakfast buffet is strictly Chinese-style. There were no Burmese food or drink options available at all. Room Condition: My room had a persistent smell of smoke and was full of mosquitoes. This is likely because housekeeping leaves the doors wide open during cleaning.

Location is basically good but not easy to find shops nearby, Inya lake is just on the opposite side of the road but have to walk long way from the hotel room because the hotel is situated in the inward inlet. There's no water bottle in the room but instead guests have to go to the hallway to use the water server machine, which never gave cold enough water. This is an European hotel and says a lot about eco-friendly or sustainable stuff, but it means downgraded service compared to other hotels run by Korea or Singapore. Breakfast is simply superb and I liked very much.  Overall good hotel but it is recommended those who can sacrifice comfort for the sake of some peculiar things like sustainability.

The room is of moderate size but very dark. There is no light. The window cannot be closed tightly. There is a portable air conditioner but the window cannot be closed. Fortunately, there are no mosquito bites. The hotel staff is enthusiastic. When checking in, someone will hand over drinks. Breakfast is selected one day in advance. It is not a buffet, but the taste is good and rich. After eating, they will take the initiative to ask how it tastes and what drinks are needed. The empty plates will be collected in time. The hotel is in a good location. It is within walking distance of the Shwedagon Pagoda. It also passes the zoo in the middle. The zoo ticket is cheap and very close to the animals

I would like to borrow from hotel the comb, shave, hand cotton. Hotel can NOT give them to me . When I asked for borrow, Hotel said that they will check and inform later. When I remind them about this. The hotel just said they cannot offer. There are two questions . Why hotel can NOT offer or just ̣ borrow the basic stuff such as comb, shave, hand cotton,... . Why the do NOT inform or feedback my request when they can solve my concerns ? Thanks,.

Was on a Business trip in Yangon, got this Hotel recommended. Good Location on a central Street with Bars and Eateries. A big Supermarket is just across the Street. The Hotel is in good shape, the staff friendly and eager to be of service. At their roof-top facilities and from the windows one has a good view to the Shwedagon Pagoda in the distance. Will go there again. Was a worthwhile stay.

It's a true journey through time, an enchan**ent that takes you to a ship from the year 1920. Several original details, such as a clock, the minibar inside a barrel, the bluetooth speaker that imitates a record player, all the leather furniture. The staff are extremely friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend it, without a doubt, it was a beautiful experience. The only point of the location is at night, as there is a night market that doesn't seem so safe and, despite being vintage, some small details lack maintenance such as the carpet in the room, for example

Excellent friendly service in beautiful legacy building with all the comforts. I can definitely recommend the Boundary!

Hotel staffs are so kind and helpful to guests, they are ready to help to solve problem of customers conveniently. Not much foreigners here but service is really excellent. I will come back here next time . Thanks for your services
