GGuest UserI stayed in a D-Fourth Non smoking room on the 8th floor. The room has a nice view of Mount Hakodate from the balcony and a view of the port from the bedroom window. Room was clean and there is daily cleaning if you ask for it. Cooking utensils are available though no condiments provided. The bath system is electronic and took a while to figure out how to use it. Room was spacious and adequate for 4 of us. What we loved is that while the dryer did not really dry our clothes (separate washer and dryer), the heater in the room was strong enough to dry them and we could borrow a rack from the hotel to hang them out to dry. Only improvement we would like to suggest - we arrived when it was snowing heavily, and as we moved our luggage into the room the floor became wet and dirtied, we had to clean with tissue as there is no floor cleaner available.would be nice to provide self cleaning tools especially since there is a kitchen and things might spill. And also the balcony did not have any ‘balcony’ shoes so it was just too cold to step outside to enjoy the scenary. Nonetheless, we enjoyed our stay in the hotel. Would choose it again if we go Hakodate.

IIHFYSuper stay at this traditional onsen inn! It’s an easy 5 minutes walk from the tram stop and it is a peaceful and hospitable place to stay. We stayed for 2 nights with breakfast included (you have it in your room, the staff come to roll up your tatami 30 mins before - we just went to the onsen during this time) which was traditional Japanese style and delicious. The onsens are not too big but there are outdoor and indoor sections and perfectly adequate. The staff look after you warmly and we loved our experience of traditional Japanese culture here. Oh, and it’s near the Botanical Gardens where we saw monkeys bathing in the onsen.

The hotel staff were helpful and helpful in explaining things to us.
The hotel doesn't provide breakfast, and there aren't many nearby restaurants, which was a bit inconvenient.

For this price, it includes a dinner buffet and a breakfast buffet, both of which are excellent quality with a good variety of choices. This offers extremely high value for money.

GGuest UserThis was the most delightful onsen ryokan experience I had during my stay in Hakodate. The atmosphere is comfortable, warm, and full of refined taste. The staff were exceptionally kind and professional. I would especially like to thank the gentleman who assisted me during check-in on the afternoon of March 19 2026, due to my own mistake, I missed my dinner and breakfast reservations, but he patiently explained everything to me with great understanding and warmth. I truly appreciated his kindness.
Thank you again, I would be very happy to return here with my family in the future!

It was snowing heavily, and the bellhop was still waiting outside for guests to arrive, helping with luggage. The outdoor private onsen in the room was also exceptional; the view and atmosphere were incredible. The breakfast, with its unbeatable ocean view, topped it all off. I had a wonderful day in Hakodate!

GGuest UserI absolutely love Hanabishi Hotel — I had the best 2-night stay here. The hotel is quiet with no large tour groups, and I really enjoyed the traditional feel and relaxing vibes. I tried all of their room types, and my favorite is the futon room with a private onsen. The futon is very comfortable, and the room itself is incredibly spacious.
The staff are friendly and helpful, even assisting me with arranging taxi service. The location is convenient, only about a 10-minute drive from Hakodate Airport. I also loved both the breakfast buffet and the dinner set — they truly pampered me like I was the queen of the world.
The public onsen is beautiful and huge. I will forever choose to stay here whenever I’m in the area.

The room itself is quite spacious, and having a microwave and cooking utensils is a huge plus, great for making late-night snacks. What really stood out were the self-service toiletries available for guests, and the fabric freshener provided smelled wonderful and worked great! 😌

Ssonsy_liOur room was incredibly spacious, featuring a separate large bed and a traditional tatami room within the suite. It felt very open, and each day we could see little monkeys bathing in the tropical botanical garden across the way from our window. This Japanese hotel was incredibly relaxing, with a well-thought-out layout that definitely surpasses many five-star hotels in China, like the Park Hyatt Guangzhou we stayed at later – truly a 'fighter jet among rubbish.' While not luxurious, the meticulous design details made our stay exceptionally comfortable. The food was excellent; despite the crowds, everything was well-organized, and we never had to wait long. Every night, we enjoyed soaking in the hot spring to the sound of the ocean waves, followed by incredibly delicious drinks. The relaxing experience in Hakodate far exceeded that in Sapporo. The only minor drawback is that the hotel isn't directly on the beachfront, which explains why it's much more affordable than nearby places like Hanatsuki or Wakamatsu. It's mostly Japanese guests here, with no international tour groups. Plus, there's a washer and dryer on the top floor.

AAilvxingdeabuI absolutely loved this Lavista hotel! The breakfast was fantastic, with a great spread including salmon, sweet shrimp, ice cream, and pudding. There's a direct bus to Hakodate Airport right nearby, costing 700 yen, and it's conveniently located next to Meijikan. There are also plenty of restaurants in the vicinity. The Kanemori Red Brick Warehouses are just a 2-minute walk away, which is super handy for buying snacks and souvenirs. The onsen (public bath) was excellent, with good quality body lotion and hair conditioner provided. There were several outdoor baths, which were very relaxing. Plus, after a soak, you get free ice cream! It's about a 15-minute walk to both the Hakodateyama Ropeway and Hakodate JR Station. The views of Mount Hakodate are also beautiful. Highly recommend!
