4-Star Hotels in Atami

My friend from Osaka and I, after a long time, stayed here together. Being at an age where our bodies aren't as spry, we were extremely satisfied with the in-room hot spring. Both breakfast and dinner offered a great variety, which we thoroughly enjoyed. It was a bit challenging with the stairs, so next time, I'd like to book a room that doesn't require using them, so we can relax even more.

Except for the location which is far away, everything is good and worth the price. The family private soup upstairs is great. I am a little bit uncomfortable with the kaiseki cuisine, but the service is very good. There is a bus to the station every morning.

This hotel is about a 10-13 minute walk from Atami Station, or a one-stop taxi ride. Its biggest selling point is the multiple free private open-air baths on the rooftop, offering stunning views of Sagami Bay. The quality of their natural hot spring, which flows directly from its source, receives high praise. The ocean-view Japanese-style rooms are spacious. While the architecture leans towards a retro Showa-era style, it does show some signs of age, and some facilities are a bit worn. The dining quality isn't quite on par with top-tier ryokans. For the return trip to the station, it's an uphill walk, so taking a taxi or using a luggage delivery service is recommended. It's perfect for vacationers who want to enjoy great hot springs, ocean views, and a traditional ryokan atmosphere. Highly recommended!

It was a very nice hotel! The bath overlooking the sea was amazing. I stayed in a room with a sauna, and as a sauna lover, it was the ultimate luxury. Of course, there is also a cold bath and resting chairs. There are many lounges on site and the view from the rooftop terrace was amazing. After checking in, we enjoyed some drinks while enjoying the spectacular view. I was traveling with children, and the atmosphere was very warm, as they arranged meals for me in a private room, and greeted my children with smiles.

Overall, it was good, and the service was very patient. When we arrived at Atami Station, we called ahead and they immediately sent a car to pick us up, and also dropped us off at the station when we checked out. Actually, it's not far from Atami Station, but the many ups and downs and stairs make it inconvenient with luggage. They really wouldn't let us store our luggage; the front desk staff were all elderly and said they closed at 5 PM, so they were worried we wouldn't make it back in time. We ended up storing our luggage in a locker at Atami Station, which was also convenient. It's essentially a family-run guesthouse, and most of the service staff are elderly, so many unpleasant experiences might have been due to language barriers. I highly recommend the full Japanese-style meal; it's exquisite, delicious, and feels very ceremonial.

The hotel is close to the station. Just a few minutes walk. If you like to try the Japanese style hotel with in room dining, this is a good choice with reasonable price. The hotel staffs are friendly and can speak good English. The have public spa and also private spa. If you not get used to go public spa or has tattoo can’t go to the public one. You can book a small private spa for 40 minute each time. When booking, check the bath facilities. Because some room does not provide bathing facilities. I would stay again if I am in Atami.

The room is very spacious, great for family of 2-4. It is pity I was alone only one person travelled, got charged two persons tax because the system booked for two persons. Location a bit outside the center, however it is easy to reach via taxi or shuttle bus. There is a steep slope walking from main road to the hotel if you walk in.

The hotel is new and the room was decent. Location: It's quite far from Atami Station, and there are uphill and downhill slopes, plus stairs, which are extremely tiring when dragging luggage. There are many hotels along the way, and this one is a bit far from the beach as well. If you're considering coming, I'd recommend staying at La Vista, which is right across from the beach and just a few steps away. This hotel is also far from Kinomiya Station, and the uphill/downhill walks are exhausting. It takes about 15-20 minutes to walk to Kinomiya Shrine. The hotel's Wi-Fi signal is extremely poor, I'm genuinely fed up. I won't be staying here again.

Take the free shuttle bus directly from Yugawara Station. The room is a single without a bathtub or shower, but there are plenty of outlets and USB ports. However, there are only two hangers. The food was delicious. The hot springs in the new building are mostly for day trips, and it can be uncomfortable when there are noisy groups of guests. The main building is a little old, but it is only for overnight guests, so it is more relaxing. The only hot spring with free-flowing water is the rock bath in the new building. I went there to treat a bruised leg, and I think it was effective.

This hotel in Izu Atami is perched halfway up a hill, offering stunning views. The semi-open-air hot springs are incredibly relaxing. They even offer late-night ramen and small popsicles. We booked the half-board option, but the dinner was a bit disappointing and nowhere near as good as what we've had at onsen hotels in Hokkaido.
