Amazing
AAnonymous UserAn unexpectedly warm stay, highly recommend to anyone visiting Toronto!
Choosing ”Maplewood Abode” in downtown Toronto was an excellent decision. The location is superb, within walking distance to the subway and major shopping areas, making it incredibly convenient for getting around and sightseeing.
What touched me most was the host. Communication was seamless throughout my stay, truly a case of ”no question left unanswered.” Whether it was advice on transit, restaurant recommendations, or tips on avoiding tourist traps, the host patiently offered tons of practical suggestions. Many were hidden gems only locals would know, saving me a lot of unnecessary detours.
The room was decorated very warmly, the bedding was clean and soft, and the surroundings were quiet. I was able to get a sound night's sleep every day, and all my travel fatigue just melted away. Even more delightful, the host enthusiastically shared some homemade food with me! I tried a chicken bun and a pork and radish bun – the wrappers were thin, the filling generous, and the taste was wonderfully authentic home-style cooking. Each bite was full of human kindness.
Overall, the experience far exceeded my expectations. It offered both the cleanliness and convenience of a hotel, along with the warmth of visiting a friend's home. I will definitely choose Maplewood Abode again on my next trip to Toronto, and I genuinely recommend it to anyone traveling for leisure or business in this city!
GGuest UserI stayed at this hotel for one night, and honestly, it turned out to be one of the best short stays I’ve had in a long time. From start to finish, everything exceeded my expectations.
The host was absolutely amazing — extremely helpful, responsive, and professional throughout the entire stay. They answered all of my questions quickly, even after I had already checked in, which made the whole experience feel very smooth and stress-free. It’s rare to find that level of attentiveness and genuine care.
The view was simply stunning. I loved the beautiful water view — waking up and seeing the water right outside was such a peaceful and memorable experience. It truly elevated the entire stay.
The unit itself was spotless and exceptionally clean. You can tell that a lot of care goes into maintaining the space. Everything felt fresh, organized, and very well taken care of.
The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed, which made it so convenient to prepare our own dinner. Having a proper kitchen setup really makes a difference, especially for a comfortable and relaxed night in.
The location is another huge plus. The area is fantastic — so many restaurants and bars within walking distance, and even grocery stores nearby. Being able to walk everywhere made the stay even more enjoyable and convenient.
Overall, this place is a solid 10/10. I would absolutely stay here again without hesitation and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a clean, comfortable, well-located place to stay downtown. Truly a five-star experience!

RRie DezBooked this hotel after driving five hours to Toronto, Canada for the Haiti vs. Tunisia World Cup game. The booking process was easy. Since it was a late booking, I was able to speak with customer service to advise I would be arriving late at 12:45 AM. The front desk was receptive and friendly. They gave me a wonderful room which was clean with a great view. The complimentary breakfast was fresh and delicious! I will definitely recommend and stay here again.
GGuest UserHotel itself is ok, however, checkin was denied even 2 hours after confirmed booking as hotel did not have our booking info. We have to call 3 different Trip.com toll free numbers for help but each of them said 'not my department' and gave us another number to make the next unsuccessful call. It took just about 1 hour to finally sort out the checkin issue. Then sometimes later, I got another confirmation with a revised booking number, the previous one got lost? This event has left a bad taste in my mouth and unfortunately will make me hesitate to book thru Trip.com next time.
TTam18The hotel's location is excellent, and the lobby and rooms are spacious. Having a simple coffee machine and kitchen access is a great plus. However, there were a few minor downsides: the lobby heating was insufficient, the shower head couldn't be adjusted, and the water pressure was low, resulting in a weak flow. On one occasion, the room wasn't tidied and the trash wasn't emptied, which, while not ruining the overall experience, was a bit odd for hotel service. Overall, the hotel is decent. But if it costs over $1300 a night with these issues, the value for money is questionable, and whether it's worth that price needs to be considered.
GGuest User1) This is a serviced apartment, so you won't see a hotel name, and there's no staff to help you check in. About three days before arrival, the manager contacted me via email and WhatsApp, asking me to send my passport details and credit card for a deposit. Finally, they sent a QR code by email, with instructions to use it at a key box outside the building to get the keys for the apartment. If you're a traveler who dislikes constantly checking emails while on vacation, you should definitely consider this before booking.
2) The unit is fully equipped with cooking facilities and cleaning supplies. However, the furniture is old and not as good as it appears in the photos.
3) When I booked, it was advertised as one bedroom and a study, but it turns out the 'study' doesn't have a door; it's more like a bed placed in a corner of the living room.
4) The cleanliness was subpar.
5) The sliding door to the balcony was damaged and couldn't be opened or closed.

GGuest UserWe booked this hotel based on location close to Toronto International Airport and that there was a shuttle service available. Our flight arrived at 12.30am and no sign of the shuttle. On ringing the hotel we were advised that the shuttle finished at 11.30pm. No where on the website mentioned the hours of operation. An expensive taxi ride later was met at reception by a very unhelpful and surly staff member. A $100.00 bond was put against our credit card in-case of damage to the room. I note that this now been charged to our credit card account, despite leaving the room exactly as we found it. Breakfast, the hot food was cold, coffee was undrinkable and the paper plates and plastic cutlery made eating breakfast difficult.
Our overall experience was poor and will not use this Comfort Inn ever again.
GGuest UserFirst of all, thank you for the free upgrade. The views from both the bedroom and the living room were excellent, and the space was large enough for a group of friends to relax, especially with the poker and foosball tables. The location is also great, right in downtown.
However, the shower amenities could be improved, particularly the shampoo and body wash, and the toothpaste looked quite messy (fortunately I brought my own). The soundproofing is also not ideal, as I could hear the couple in the next room talking, and I felt a bit uncomfortable using the bathroom and blow‑drying my hair after coming back late from a concert.
The check‑in time is quite rigid at 4 p.m., although they do allow you to delay check‑in until 7:30 p.m. I was initially confused because I waited for over 10 minutes at the original building (before the upgrade) and wasn’t sure if the receptionist would come to pick me up. Once we met, though, the receptionist was very friendly and clearly explained the amenities and check‑out procedures.
Overall, despite the strict rules and minor issues, I really liked the room and had a happy stay.

GGuest UserIdeal location for any downtown Toronto activity week with family or friends, 15 min walk to core downtown. 2 bed rooms one does not have a window but perfect for a peaceful sleep. View from the 37th floor of the downtown core and CN tower.
