Hotel near Ueno/Asakusa/Ryougoku,Tokyo
Ueno Station Hostel Oriental 1(Men Only) is a 5-minute walk from JR Ueno Station and a 3-minute walk from JR Okachimachi Station. It offers compact and luxurious private rooms for you to enjoy your own time. All rooms are equipped with a TV and free Wifi. You can spend your time in your own space. The facility includes a 42℃ high-temperature large bath, a bath that generates ultrasonic waves through bubbles, a vibra bath, medicinal baths, and a radium spring that promotes metabolism by enveloping the body in bubbles. A large bath is the best way to relieve fatigue. Pouring water over heated stones produces steam that envelops the body. The balance of temperature and humidity creates a good "löyly" (steam bath). "Iki" in Finnish means "permanent, eternal." By skillfully manipulating fire and water and stacking a large number of stones, the sauna's origin "smoke sauna" was modeled to create the steam bath.

"The hostel is riight in the middle of downtown Tokyo close to skyliner and Ueno metto station and park. Its a capsule -style hostel but also have regular bunkbeds depending on the floor. The best thing is the sauna and bath facilities with a nice lounge to relax amd th only con is the vecinity of the railway though I didnt notice any noise due to the l window"

It is a good stay and it's only one stop away from Ikebukuro and two stops from Shinjuku."

"For Tokyo, the room size here was fantastic! It's a one-bedroom suite with a separate living area. The bedroom, about three tatami mats in size, felt just right. Even with a table in the living area, it was easy to move around, creating plenty of extra space. A mini-fridge was also a bonus! I made sure to visit the communal bathhouse and hot spring on the 6th floor almost every day – it was incredibly relaxing! Kimono robes were also provided in the room, and the bathroom featured a convenient wet/dry separation. Overall, the room offered plenty of functional space. The location is conveniently situated between Akihabara and Ueno. The only minor inconvenience was the uphill walk to and from the hotel, which could be a bit tiring, but it was perfect for a post-dinner stroll to digest! Just around the corner on a side street, there's a large supermarket that's great for browsing. Absolutely fantastic! It will definitely be my first choice for future visits!"

"The room is considered large for this location and is very close to the subway. I was initially hesitant to book because there were few reviews, but after booking, I had a great experience and it was excellent value for money. The room is really spacious, unlike most hotels. It's definitely a good choice. The host was very responsive and patient. The only downside was the lack of pillows; I hope they improve that. The only other thing was that there were no pillows provided; they just gave me a cushion. Everything else was great, and the price was really good. It's conveniently located near restaurants and shops, so it's a really good place."

"The front desk receptionist/ owner speaks very good English. Overall, the experience is good save for 2 matters; 1. Proximity to the railway tracks. More noise disturbances from the trains but this will subside once the train services stops after midnight. 2. Narrow staircase up to the second floor. Those with big heavy luggages will find it challenging to lift them up and navigating the steep and narrow staircase."

DDigitalNomad TravelerSurprisingly Great Stay in Shinjuku! I didn’t expect the hotel to be this good — it really exceeded my expectations! The place is modern, clean, and fully equipped with great amenities. From the bathroom to the capsule, everything was well-designed and thoughtfully provided — including pajamas and slippers. The capsule bed was quite comfortable and the design was sleek and stylish. The shared café/lounge area was also nice and cozy. Location-wise, it’s perfect! Just a 3-minute walk to the nearest station, and super close to 7-Eleven, cafes, and restaurants around the Shin-Okubo/Shinjuku area. Very convenient for exploring Tokyo. One thing to improve: the reception staff could be a bit more friendly and welcoming. A simple smile upon guest arrival would go a long way, especially for a hotel in the hospitality industry. Overall, I had an amazing 2-night stay here — definitely a great place to stay in Shinjuku!

GGuest UserThe staff were incredibly friendly, and the breakfast service was excellent. The hotel is located on the 7th floor of the building; simply take the elevator up. While there's a curfew, it didn't affect our family trip at all. On the contrary, we appreciated how quiet it made the place.

MmariahnStayed for 2 nights. The capsule hotel was alright for its price, since we only spent about 25 dollars for a night on the Women Only floor. The capsules themselves were pretty clean and spacious, especially convenient if you have the lower bunk. The capsules were assigned to us randomly though. They are pretty soundproof even though they close with just a curtain, but I didn’t hear anyone’s alarm or anything like that, plus you must be quiet in the capsule area. So if everyone is abiding by that rule everything should be fine. There is a built-in alarm in the capsules and a pretty smart lighting system with a lighting intensity control knob. The shower cabins were just a bit dirty, only two of them on the floor, but we never had to wait to use them. There were lockers for each capsule on the floor, pretty convenient. The “kitchen space” on the first floor was very small, we never ate there. Just a general lack of common space in this hotel - you can only sleep here, or sit in the rooftop “bar” (which we also didn’t do cause it was still too cold in April. If you’re like us who spends their whole day walking the town and don’t mind eating in cafes or anywhere else than it’s for you. If you would like to dine or work in the hotel then find a place with a bigger and more versatile common space. In the shower you can use common shampoos, soaps and conditioners, as well as hair dryers, but stuff like toothbrushing kits, razors, ear plugs - you can only buy it at the reception desk. We didn’t use the laundry room either because it’s these usual japanese laundromats which wash and dry only for about 30 minutes but cost 200 yen each + you must still pay for detergent (at the reception desk as well). But all in all, it’s a great budget hotel for its price. Not too dirty and pretty convenient. About 10 minute walk from the metro station, but you shouldn’t cut through the neighborhood and take the long route instead to avoid countless red light establishments, as this area looks dangerous to walk at night, if you’re a woman.

PPICHEWA_I had planned to go to the SEVENTEEN concert at Tokyo Dome, so I was searching for a convenient place to stay. This hotel, located just one station away and a short walk from the station, was the perfect find. The area is well-served with convenience stores, restaurants, and vending machines. The staff were welcoming and helpful. I checked in before my concert and left my luggage in the room, so I didn't have much time to take detailed photos. The room itself was quite compact, measuring only 6 square meters (approximately 2x3 meters). However, it was perfectly adequate for a solo traveler and I was able to fit my 28-inch suitcase on the floor. The bed was a fold-out and wasn't the most comfortable, but it was good enough for a one-night stay. The room wasn't as stuffy as I expected, and the air conditioning worked well. A small desk and chair were positioned near the window, and the curtains could be opened for natural light while getting ready. The desk wasn't huge, but it was quite long and could hold plenty of belongings. A TV was mounted on the wall next to the window, but I didn't have a chance to check it out. The room also featured a large mirror, clothes hangers, and a double-sided clothes rack. If you had a lot of luggage, you could store items on the upper shelf. The shared shower and bathroom facilities were clean and well-maintained, with two of each on each floor. There were also double sinks. Basic toiletries like soap and shampoo were provided. You can purchase a Metro Tokyo pass directly from the staff at the lobby. The hotel also offers various activities and services; feel free to inquire with the staff for more details.

WWeiHooI have tried a few capsule hotels, this is by far the worst. My capsule was on the fifth floor, but the lockers are located on the fourth floor which is very inconvenient since the shower is on the eighth floor. There is a sitting area outside the capsule room which is an unsightly mess as shown in the pictures. The mattress is hard and uncomfortable. What bothered me the most is the door that supposed to shun off the noise from outside, made a loud noise when it closes. I wonder if they are not aware of it or no one complains to them. Imagine how many people comes in and out the entire night and the cranky noise disturbed my sleep. I hope the management will be made known of this default. I will never come back again.

FFBaileAfter checking in, I found out that we were in another house🏠… The room was very small, and the bed was also very small. Three people stayed in one bed of about 150, and the other two had one bed of 90, which was even smaller than a small bed in a massage parlor… There was no washstand either, so we had to brush our teeth and wash our faces in the kitchen sink, which was very embarrassing, but the room price was not cheap. The only advantage was that it was close to Shinjuku subway station, about a 10-minute walk.

Mmay....ooThe room was clean, it was close to the station and there was a large public bath, so I was satisfied with the price. However, if you stay for multiple nights, the room needs to be cleaned every day, so it was a bit inconvenient that you had to go outside between 10am and 4pm. However, it was nice that you could enter the room as soon as the cleaning was finished. Thank you very much.

HHappyLoveThe condition is better than I expected, it's easy to get to Asakusa, and you can walk to the subway in less than 5 minutes. There are many restaurants nearby and convenience stores such as Lawson, Family Mart, and 7-Eleven are located within 5 minutes. First of all, the private bathroom is not in the room. It's outside. We used the second floor and were in rooms 201 and 202. If there are two rooms, there are two toilets and two bathrooms outside, which are used exclusively for the room. I don't have any pictures, so I'll just post a picture of the bathroom. It was nice that each item was separate. There aren't any downsides, but the owner was a bit harsh but not unfriendly. Still, I had a good stay. For 3 nights and 4 days And one thing is that the door is locked after 12 o'clock!!! Please note this! Have a nice trip to Japan everyone😆
