"Nestled along the serene shores of Manazuru Port, this quaint Japanese-style inn exudes warmth and tradition at every turn. Run by a charming old lady whose hospitality transcends generations, the inn offers a glimpse into Japan's rich cultural tapestry. From the moment you step inside, you're enveloped in a sense of tranquility. The tatami-matted rooms, though old, are meticulously clean, each carrying a tale of bygone eras. The gentle aroma of freshly brewed tea wafts through the air, inviting you to unwind and savor the moment. What truly sets this inn apart is its breathtaking view of Manazuru Port and the expansive sea beyond. Whether you're enjoying a traditional Japanese breakfast or simply basking in the afternoon sun on the veranda, the vista never fails to mesmerize. The rhythmic dance of fishing boats against the backdrop of rolling waves is a sight to behold. But it's the innkeeper's unwavering dedication to her guests that leaves the most lasting impression. With a genuine smile and a kind word, she ensures that every visitor feels like family. Her attention to detail and personalized care elevate the stay from ordinary to extraordinary. For those seeking solace in the embrace of Japan's timeless charm, this hidden gem on the shores of Manazuru is a haven like no other. Amazing
Kkifteh97Amazing experience in this ryokan! Felt very warmly welcomed by the owner who would come out to send us off or receive us when we entered or exited. Also received a welcome cake from him! Rooms were comfortable and the private onsen experience was really luxurious. Easy drive out to see the attractions we wanted to in Hakone.

GGuest UserQuiet, safe, and clean. It was so quiet all night I only heard barefoot footsteps around 5:30 am. The cleanliness is comparable to Hanting Hotels in China. It's about a 12-minute walk from Hakone-Yumoto Station. Note that they provided two sheets, one for the bed and one for use as a duvet cover. The receptionist spoke fluent English and gave a brief introduction to the surrounding area.

JJette Marie☀️ When i first arrived, i thought i was at the wrong place - i‘ve never booked something so nice for myself before! 🪲PROS - chill 4 people bedrooms, with a comfy bed and a big personal shelf + locker and a fridge for the room - clean facilities and rooms - towel, toothpaste/toothpaste and yukata were provided as well as shampoo and showergel - the common room was so cozy and nice, with tea and water always at the ready and a great view of the garden - i was satisfied with both the dinner and breakfast and the price was fairly cheap (~1200¥ or a bit more, depending on your choices) - PRIVATE ONSEN that you can book for around 50minutes at night and can use in the morning if nobody else is already using it (costs around 150¥ per use) - there is a shuttle bus going at pretty regular times in the morning. They offer a ride to both Gora-Station or Hakone-Open-Air-Museum! 🩸CONS - far from the city-centre/train station 🌱 i really enjoyed my stay. I had cool roomies that became travel companions and absolutely loved the inn, the onsen, the food and the kind staff! Definitely a recommendation if you ever decide to stay in Hakone - i would book again!

TtakamanI stayed overnight on my way back from climbing Mt. Kintoki. Since I was traveling alone, I booked a capsule-type room (sleeping space). The guests were mostly Western and Chinese, and there weren't many Japanese people there on weekdays. There was also a hot spring and the common areas were well-equipped. There were no noisy people, so I was able to sleep quietly. It's only 5-6 minutes to the convenience store and about 10 minutes to the tozan railway station.

MM10880****This is a surprisingly old hotel. While many of the amenities are dated and some rooms lack private bathrooms, my personal experience makes it highly recommended. I stumbled upon a deal on Ctrip and booked a room with an indoor hot spring bath and private bathroom. Each room has a different name. We stayed in Chidori, which was on the second floor without an elevator, so we had to carry our luggage upstairs. It was spacious and had a simple river view. The hotel signs the names of guests arriving at the door, which was a great experience from the start. They check in their slippers upon arrival, so you need to use them. There's free-flowing drinks and a variety of flavored liquors, and free cold drinks are available outside the public bathrooms. We booked a two-meal package, which includes two time slots for dining, which is recommended, as many restaurants in Hakone close around 5 PM, making it difficult to find food, except for 7-Eleven and Lawson. Once you reserve a table for dinner, you'll also have breakfast the next day, so you don't have to worry about repeating meals if you stay multiple nights. They also offer different dining options based on the length of your stay. Dinner includes a 75-minute all-you-can-drink offer, which is quite impressive. The hotel provides special bathrobes, but the straps are stored in a basket in the room. The towels in the basket are for guests to use in the public hot springs. Since the hot springs are recreated from the Edo period, they're quite basic. There's no shower head, so you have to scoop water to shower, as the tap below only dispenses cold water. If you're using an indoor hot spring, you can skip it. For transportation, if you're arriving at Hakone-Yumoto Station, exit the station and cross the overpass to take the mountain bus from the opposite stop. If you're arriving at Kamito-no-Sawa Station, it's about three stops. Remember to ring the doorbell before arriving, otherwise the bus won't stop unless someone else gets on. Whether you're using a card or a pass, you need to swipe or present your pass when you get on board and swipe or present it again when you get off. Remember, the Izu Bus does not accept passes. Because the mountain roads are rugged and difficult to walk, it's best to take a bus rather than hike. Remember to take a photo of the departure time to avoid missing the bus or waiting too long. In addition to most of the tourist attractions, the most lively places in Hakone are the shops in the hot spring town outside Hakone Yumoto Station. Most of them close at 5 pm, so if you need to go shopping, remember to go early.

GGuest UserVery good Japanese-style inn experience! Box Burger is not difficult to find using the location navigation. It is not far from the station, but it looks a bit out of the way. The hotel's own hot spring is also very comfortable, the breakfast is delicious, and the sound insulation is better than expected. The only thing is that there are not many toilets, which may be a bit inconvenient to use. And remember to try the burgers at Box Burger, they are super delicious!

AAnonymous UserA comfortable experience overall. The room was a bit old, the onsen (hot spring) a bit small, and the seafood dinner was a little disappointing. But for this price and time, a one-night stay with two meals in Hakone is perfectly acceptable.

GGuest UserA nice cozy home right near the main train station. Easy access to transportation and right in the heart of the town. The house had many beds to choose from and good separation of rooms. A stocked kitchen and laundry machine was a bonus. The only slight bother was that the space in front of the toilet was very narrow and it was slightly uncomfortable to be on the toilet. Also there are cockroaches that come in at night, but this is fairly normal in Japan. The walk up to the house consists of many stairs and is not suitable for persons with handicaps/mobility issues.

EErick858Nestled in a peaceful corner of Mt. Hakone, yet conveniently connected by bus, only a 5-10 mins walk. This charming little hotel offered an unforgettable immersion into Japanese culture, complete with tatami-matted floor, soft futon bedding and soothing onsen. With it's effortless check in and out, it's perfect for travelers seeking tranquility and authenticity without sacrificing to much convenience. Pros: If you plan to visit the Hakone pirate ship and the Hakone ropeway at Togendai, it will give you an early start because it's only 11 minutes by bus. Con: To get to the hotel you will need to go up a little hill, not too hard, but if you have a lot of luggage it could be a bit of a challenge (But it's an easy walk back to the bus stop) Be mindful of the bus time getting to the hotel as the bus tends to end around 5:00 p.m. Also, there aren't any places to eat near the hotel, so you may need to take food with you, order breakfast with the hotel or buy some snacks and instant noodles from the hotel shop.

林文泉The room is clean and the breakfast and dinner set meals are very Japanese. It is about 5km away from the Owakudani scenic area and can be reached by running (but the 1.2km road before entering Owakudani is restricted from 09:00 to 16:30). The quiet environment is a good choice for a relaxing vacation.
