Guest UserSo happy I stayed at this Inn for my trip to Suzhou. Nearest metro station is Beisita. Only 1 station from Suzhou railway station. From Beisita come out to exit 1, turn right, walk a few steps and you see a big zebra crossing on the main road. Cross this zebra crossing and almost in front of you is the small alley/lane Dawangjia Alley. Go straight down this alley a minute or so and you come to another even smaller alley on your right. Turn into this alley. The first door in this alley is the location of the Inn. On the day I arrived. I came out of Beisita station, exit 1 and was met with torrential rain. I had no idea which way to go. I called the owner via the trip phone service. Somehow I got the owner to understand I'm stuck at station and don't know where to turn. She kindly came to station on her moped to pick me up. Saving me from the downpour. I'm so grateful.
The Inn is very traditional Chinese style housing. The room large and very comfortable. Has everything you need. But I especially like the large, clean and fully tiled bathroom which has it own window opening to the outside allow for good ventilation. All the other places I stayed so far the bathroom is tiny with no window thus no proper ventilation which makes the bathroom always feel damp with a musty, mouldy feel. This is the first time I feel the bathroom is airy and comfortable.
Inn is close to Suzhou museum, Humble administrator garden and Lion Grove garden. Took me around 15mins walk to these places. The owner also make good recommendations on what to avoid and where to eat etc. I highly recommend this Inn and should I come back to Suzhou shall certainly stay here again.
I will be uploading more photos and videos of the Inn and my travels in China on my YouTube channels TheTravelDiary and goody2shoos once I'm back in the UK so check out the channels for more information. Happy travels.

As someone from Inner Mongolia, I found this hotel to be excellent for around 300 yuan. I stayed for two nights, and the front desk staff even helped me with my luggage, which was a huge help as I'm pregnant and traveling alone. My experience here was great, and the service was really good. The room was clean and spacious. As for soundproofing, it's pretty much the same as any other hotel, but I didn't hear much noise during my stay, and my neighbors were quiet too. I asked housekeeping for two bottles of water, and they gave me four, which was a nice touch!
The location is fantastic, very close to Zhuozheng Garden subway station, and also near Lion Grove Garden and Suzhou Museum. It's definitely worth recommending, and I felt very safe traveling alone and staying here. Five stars! 🌟

CalabresepepperThis little traditional inn was absolutely delightful 1 night stay and the host family could not have been more kind and helpful. The owner helped us get our bags to and from the inn as everything in this area is pedestrianised and no vehicle is available for transporting luggage. You must register for entrance into the historical zone at the main office before you try to enter the security gates by showing your ID as is the case with all things in China. Don't let this put you off. Smoking indoors is common so ask for smoke free treatment. Highly recommended.

Guest UserOpening the window reveals a picturesque江南 (Jiangnan) scene with small bridges and flowing water. The room was clean and cozy, and the thoughtful touches like the smart toilet and 100-inch projector were definite bonuses. But what truly stood out was the owner's incredible hospitality – sending travel tips in advance, picking us up from the intersection, and even delivering fresh fruit daily. It felt just like visiting an old friend's home. The location is also fantastic, tucked away in a quiet spot yet only a few minutes' walk from Shantang Street. This trip to Suzhou was made even more wonderful because of Wanhe Inn. I'll definitely be back!

I arrived in pouring rain. I thought I could walk to my hotel but it was impossible in the downpour. I didn’t want to bother any hotel owner. I didn’t and still don’t have an eSIM that can make local call but thanks to Trip.com, there is a link that I could call the owner for free. I didn’t advise the owners my arrival time so they were off running errands. I called the owner to pick me up and thankfully he answered. He was busy but gracious enough to turn around and picked me up. It knew Zhouhuang requires a ticket but I didn’t know that no cars, nor motorcycles, nor bicycles are allowed. Without him I would have arrived the hotel easily.
I always like to meet the owners instead of employees . They were very helpful and answered all my questions. They are honest people who dedicate their blood and sweat to their business. The owner even offered to walk me to the bus stop to Suzhou which was my next destination.
This operates two hotels with 9 in one and 6 in the other. The one that I stayed in with 9 rooms is in a lively and busy area . Just outside the hotel is a restaurant and there are plenty of places to eat. Inside the hotel is a peaceful oasis where you won’t hear any noise. The location is the best. The other hotel is in a quieter neighborhood a few minutes away. Each of the 15 rooms has it’s own personality, is different and has its distinctive decoration. The owners said they decorated them themselves. I love the decoration and especially the lighting.
After you reserve a room, be sure to contact the owner for the exact address in case you want to arrive on your own. I think it is best to request the owner to take you there because he/she will lead you to the ticket booth to buy tickets. There are a number of bridges so heavy big luggages can be a bit of a challenge . If you arrive after 5 pm, you can enter free of charge as no one is there to check your ticket. . But once you are inside, and if you choose to leave the area after 8 or 9 am until 5 pm, you have to pay to come back in. You can buy a one day or in my case 3 days pass. Do check with the owner for up to date information.
The room was quite clean. There were hot water all the time. There were other guests during my stay but they were not noisy at all. I barely heard them. I slept very well during my 3 nights there.
Zhouhuang is really beautiful. There are many canals, bridges, boat rides, good food of all kinds. I had some of the best meals there. In fact , I ate in the same restaurant that serves dumpling twice. One night I had grill (BBQ) meat just outside the entrance for 4 yuans. . There is decent size supermarket just outside the turnstile and not too far away is a much bigger supermarket. It was there where I bought half a Peking duck for only 32 yuans . The seller sliced the meat and separated the meat from the bones. The bones he fried so it was crunchy. It was delicious. There is a theater that offers performances.
The night view is great. If you step out your room, you will be overwhelmed in a good sense by the exciting surroundings.
This hotel definitely is one of the best that I have ever stayed in. Look at the beautiful pictures and find one that you like.
I stayed only 3 nights and one of those days I went to Tongli. In my opinion, one should spend at least 2 to 3 full days in Zhouhuang (and especially this hotel ) savor the ambience. I don’t think Tongli is worth the time because it was twice as expensive and there are not that many canals and boat rides. It is much quieter and has fewer things to see. . The worst is that the sightseeing places require you to show your ticket. After 2 places, I lost mine ticket and I couldn’t get in the rest of the places. It is unnecessary to require proof of entrance because you can’t enter the area without a ticket.

MAXIM D.Very good apartment in one of the skyscrapers in the Suzhou Industrial Park district. Despite our request to live on the higher floor with a lake view, we lived in the apartment on the 27th (from 47) floor with the city view. Probably, they just don't have lake-view apartments. However, there is another skyscraper in front of our building. Though, the room was perfect! Very clean, with home shoes, slippers, bath and face towels, teeth kits, kitchen (fridge, microwave, kettle). However, there was no cookware or dishware. We also needed an iron (as was promised in the room description), but the administrator brought us a steamer (which is even better) a few hours after the request.
There are many convenient stores around, where you can buy even cooked food.
In general, we recommend this place to everyone!

This hotel is great for families or friends traveling together. I was initially hesitant after reading some reviews and almost canceled, but decided to tough it out for one night. It completely exceeded my expectations! Upon arrival, the front desk offered tea and hot towels, and even provided a cover for my ID card. The hallways had thoughtful little amenities. Our room even had a bathtub, which the kids absolutely loved. The cleaning staff kept asking if the children needed water. When we were leaving, the front desk staff thoughtfully opened the door for us. Our taxi hadn't arrived yet, and they insisted we wait inside the hotel instead of outside because it was so hot. The service was incredibly warm and caring. I'll definitely book here again next time I'm in Suzhou, and stay for a few more days!

Anonymous UserI really had to write this review because my stay was incredibly uncomfortable. In all my years of traveling, this is the first time I've encountered such a poor environment. I'm not sure why all the other reviews are so positive; this is my genuine experience, and I'm not trying to be malicious.
**Facilities:** First off, the air conditioning, whether on hot or cold, doesn't blow downwards. This single-story-converted-to-two-story layout is really bad. The AC unit is high up, so the air just circulates at the top. Downstairs, it's either freezing cold or stiflingly stuffy. The bathroom is particularly awful – dim, tiny, and with wooden walls painted red. After a shower, it emits a sour, foul, and irritating paint smell. I had to keep the door closed at night; it was truly nauseating. The toilet and fixtures are basic. For this price, even in tier-one, tier-three cities or remote guesthouses, outside of holidays, I'd expect smart home features throughout.
**Hygiene:** The simple facilities and small space weren't the main issue. The real problem was how dirty the bed and the overall sleeping area were. The ceiling is from an old renovated house. When I got into bed, I found black debris on the sheets. The ceiling was moldy and covered in dust, with small bugs flying around. In the bathroom, a centipede crawled out, which startled me. I sprayed bug repellent all night and slept with the AC on and under the covers just to get some sleep.
**Environment:** This is another major complaint. The windows and doors are practically nonexistent; the soundproofing is zero. I'd advise couples to speak quietly in their room because everything outside is clearly audible. I could clearly hear my neighbors coughing and talking. Early in the morning, people chatting and greeting each other in the courtyard were loud, and late at night, around 1 or 2 AM, I could hear people dragging their suitcases past, making a huge racket. It was incredibly noisy.
**Service:** Objectively speaking, the service was okay. The auntie was very enthusiastic, answered all my questions, and was very thorough with everything. However, my main needs when staying at a hotel are showering and resting, and clearly, the core needs were not met. I only got about four hours of sleep that night; it was truly miserable.

Our stay at this Suzhou apartment was nothing short of perfect! As first-time visitors, we were blown away by the incredible value. The location is great, just a quick 5-minute walk from the MRT, which made exploring the entire city effortless.
The apartment itself was exactly as described: spotlessly clean, surprisingly spacious, and equipped with everything we needed. The highlight for us was the big projector screen; winding down each night with Chinese dramas was a unique and fun experience. Having a washer and dryer in the unit was also a huge convenience, allowing us to pack light.
The true standout was our host. She was exceptionally helpful, providing a personal recommendations. Their tips truly made our trip special.
We felt so at home and will 100% be recommending this gem to all our friends. Don’t hesitate—book this place for a seamless and memorable Suzhou adventure
