2-Star Hotels in Lanzhou

The room was exquisitely designed, with clean and soft bedding for a good night's sleep. The bathroom featured a separate shower and toilet, and all necessary toiletries were provided, with each paper cup individually wrapped for hygiene and a great attention to detail. The front desk staff were warm and attentive, providing quick check-in and helpful recommendations for nearby restaurants. The location was superb, just a 5-minute walk from the Provincial Government subway station, making travel incredibly convenient.

A great hotel for the price. The location is fantastic, right next to Exit D of Xiguan Subway Station, adjacent to Zhangye Road Pedestrian Street, and within easy reach of Muta Alley Snack Street and Dazhong Alley Night Market. I expected a noisy stay in such a place, but the room was surprisingly quiet. Upon chatting, I discovered the owner had put a lot of effort into noise isolation, resulting in excellent soundproofing. The room resembles the design of the Atour Hotel, with smart curtains and toilets. The toilet itself is particularly impressive; it's as comfortable, convenient, and fully automatic as my own at home. The towels are all disposable, clean, and reassuring. I accidentally lost my room card while visiting the night market, but the owner, true to his Northwest roots, generously didn't fine me. I felt really bad about it, thank you!

I stayed in this hostel for a total of 5 nights, with two breaks when I went on tours outside of Lanzhou. I have put in reviews earlier, so this is my final for the hostel that had begun to feel like Home. The hostel itself is very comfortable a stay: clean, comfortable wide bed with sliding door for privacy, nice seating areas... It is run by a family who take turns staying over so that there is 24 hour reception. All are friendly and kind, especially the father. The parents don't speak English but you can easily use a translation app; other guests will probably interact with you. The location: it is situated about a 5 minute walk to the Yellow River Tower, and a further 10 minute walk to the Lanzhou Old Street area where there is an amazing array of food options. Just outside the hostel is a Halal (Muslim-run) restaurant called (Ruhua 如华）which the hostel owners say have been in operation for 20 or 30 years. The hand-pulled (手抓) mutton that I had there was fantastic, even though I am typically not a mutton eater --- the taste is a delicate and balanced mix of light spices (I could taste a hint of ginger, for example) and saltiness. And the 八宝茶 is also excellent. A 7 minute walk to the right after exiting the hostel (past the above -mentioned restaurant) to the main road where many buses ply, you will find another good mix of local food options, especially in the morning. The hostel is conveniently located near the Lanzhou West railway station. There is a bus 136 that runs just outside the hostel and gets you to the railway station in 20 minutes. Hope this helps someone deciding on where to stay in Lanzhou, since there doesn't seem such a good range of hostels. On the map this hotel is about 900m away from the Lanzhou West train station, but I would advise you to take a taxi/ride-hail vehicle if you have large/heavy luggage. You have to either cross an overhead bridge without lift to reach the hotel, and because the stretch of road has buildings beside it that are undergoing construction, it can be a bit difficult to navigate the footpath which sometimes spills over to the road. Alternatively, you can take the metro for one stop and backtrack, but you would have to put your luggage through the scanner, let security test your liquids in the luggage, etc. There is a convenience store outside the hotel, but otherwise there isn't much shopping to be done. The location is good only because it is near the train station.

The price is reasonable, so don't expect too much. Overall, it's very good. The rooms are similar to those in Hong Kong hotels. #Location, Transportation, and Shops: It's just 50 meters from Jianlan Road Pedestrian Street and very close to Xiguan Shizi Metro Station. It's near Gansu Provincial Museum and Lanzhou Center, making it convenient to go anywhere. There's also the West Railway Station Night Market nearby. There's a Ma'anjun Spicy Beef Noodles restaurant downstairs. #Value for Money: During the National Day Golden Week, this hotel, considering its location, should offer the best value for money.

離文理學院蠻近的，衹是需要繞一圈過去。房間很大，床也很大，被子很厚實暖和，採光很好，晚上還能看夜景。老闆姐姐人很好，非常熱情善良好説話，如果你第二天有考試的話姐姐説可以不用趕十二點退房（我是晚上六點入住的，如果超24h應該不行）。這會還沒裝修完畢，沒有無線網，公共廁所沒有洗手液和衞生紙以及其他洗漱用品，介意的話可以詢問一下。

It is a 5-minute walk from Lanzhou Station. The service of the two older sisters is rated 5 stars. The service guy delivered my wife's suitcase to the room on the 2nd floor. I sincerely wish you a prosperous business and a lot of money.

It's a great place to stay if you know the location, but it can be a bit challenging for foreigners. Even I, who speak a little Chinese, wandered around for about an hour, especially since I couldn't understand a single word of the local language. Still, I managed to find it, despite the twists and turns. I was grateful for the early check-in. However, my first impression wasn't so positive. I encountered a guest smoking a cigarette in the living room, which was quite casual. Next, the room was so dark that even with the lights on, it felt like nighttime. Nevertheless, the bed was comfortable, and all the amenities were there. There was even a small folding desk. I was impressed by the owner's sense of style. However, the bathroom sink was constantly littered with cigarette ash and the smell of cigarettes permeated the room. This was a mixed-use space, which was a real challenge. For non-smokers, the smell is excruciating. My throat eventually swelled. It's a good place for smokers and those who are very familiar with Chinese. I wouldn't recommend it to non-smokers or women due to the shared bathroom.

The owner is very nice, the environment is clean and hygienic, and everything is complete. The toilet even comes with a toilet seat cover, which is very thoughtful and matches the picture perfectly.

*If you are going to Lanzhou …* … this is the hotel to stay especially if you are an independent traveller! Even before arrival we reached out to Li and she promptly promised to send a car to meet us upon arrival at Langzhouxi. The Tumendun metro station is right in front of the hotel. So is the bus stop which serves buses running to several Lanzhou attractions. Aside from the obvious locational advantages the thing that strikes me most is the warmth and hospitality of the family running the place. Everyone from father, mother, 2 sons to DIL was eager to help with any questions that we might have. We couldn’t believe how patient they were in providing invaluable insights for the benefit of the tourist. The room and bathroom were kept clean. Hot and cold water were readily available as well as a kettle. We are grateful and would like to thank the whole family for treating us like family during our short stay here!
