2-Star Hotels in Changsha

This guesthouse is located inside the 'Yingshang International Hotel' building, about a 10-minute walk from IFS (International Finance Square). The location is pretty good, but the guesthouse's security is a bit lacking, as anyone can access the floors. The main draw is that it's cheap and the rooms are spacious. Just make sure that when you're using navigation, you set your drop-off point to 'Sen. Bolai Hotel'; from there, it's only a minute and a half walk to the entrance. Otherwise, you'll have to walk a long and difficult path from the other side of the building, going through a construction zone, which resulted in my shoes and luggage getting covered in yellow mud (it was the rainy season when I visited). The room itself was quite clean, but the hot water system for the shower is a residential-style one. If multiple people are staying in the same room, you can't shower freely. After one person uses it, the next person has to wait a long time, which made showering feel stressful.

I highly recommend this guesthouse, and I'll definitely choose it again next time I'm in Changsha! As someone who travels frequently, this is one of the rare guesthouses I've stayed in that offers great value for money, is spotlessly clean, and has a fantastic environment. Located in a small alley by the Xiangjiang River, this guesthouse is a quiet oasis in a bustling area, yet it's very easy to find. It's just a five-minute walk to the subway station, a ten-minute walk to Chaozong Street, and a twenty-minute walk to Wuyi Square – super convenient! The environment is impeccable. The bedsheets and pillows look brand new with not a single stain, so there's no need to bring your own sleeping bag liner. The bathroom also has a wet/dry separation, and even features a smart toilet. In terms of service, I often saw an auntie cleaning. She was very kind and even helped with luggage. The room was cleaned daily, and fresh drinking water was provided. Regarding facilities, each room has two air conditioners, which kept it wonderfully warm. There's hot water, though you need to let it run for a bit. Downstairs, there are plenty of food stalls and a supermarket. The nights were very quiet, and I slept soundly. The owner is also very nice, and all communication was smooth!

My first impression upon arriving was great. The front desk staff were incredibly friendly and efficient with the check-in process. They also proactively offered information about nearby dining and attractions, and patiently answered all my questions. Their detailed and thoughtful service really enhanced my stay, big kudos to the front desk!

I did a lot of research before coming to Changsha and finally chose this hotel. After staying for one night, I realized I made the right choice! The location is absolutely amazing – IFS Guojin, Huangxing Road Pedestrian Street, Taiping Street, and Pozi Street are all within walking distance, just a few minutes away. It's also close to the riverside, and Taiping Old Street is right in front of the hotel. You can even take one subway stop to reach the Snack Kingdom, which is super lively with tons of snacks and great photo opportunities. What's more, the room's cleanliness exceeded my expectations. Every front desk lady was incredibly friendly. The hotel offers free laundry service – just notify the hotel butler, and they'll handle everything. You can also store your luggage for free after check-out. The price isn't expensive either, so the value for money is really high. It's fantastic! [Strong]

The apartment come with 2 rooms, living hall, kitchen, washing machine and dryer. Located in the core business district of Wuyi Square, which is very convenient for travel. Sorrounding has many malls and resturants. The host is very nice and helpful. We bought many parcels online and come in different days, the host helped to contact delivery man to receive parcels for us. Recommend to stay here.

Great value for money overall. The toiletries provided were comprehensive, and the front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. The bed was comfortable and the hot water supply was stable. The location is super convenient for getting around; it's easy to reach places like Wuyi Square and Orange Isle, and it's close to both the subway and bus stations.

We got transferred to another hotel next door so we cannot not provide a review for Welcome Hotel itself but we stayed in adjacent Green Tree Inn hotel. The hotel we stayed in was very clean and tools extremely spacious. No smoke smell and good noise cancellation. Would definitely recommend anyone to stay here

The owner is incredibly friendly and accommodating. The room rates are very reasonable, and the place is clean. They even offer airport drop-off service, which is a huge convenience! On my previous visit, my flight was significantly delayed, and I couldn't confirm my exact arrival time. Yet, the owner kindly waited up for me until 3 AM! This is my second stay here, and I'll definitely be back!

This hotel is located on the top floor of a building, right next to the east bank of the Xiang River. To the west, you can overlook Yuelu Mountain and Orange Isle. The views are fantastic! The hotel's location is super convenient, with a subway station nearby. It's not far from major city attractions, easily reachable by foot, subway, or taxi. On the east side, the old alleyways offer a rich taste of local life, allowing you to experience the seamless blend of Changsha's modernity and tradition. The hotel service is excellent. The rooms are clean and tidy, and the mattress and pillows are just right – neither too soft nor too firm. The soundproofing in the rooms is good. On the river-facing side, due to its proximity to a main urban road and the riverside promenade, there might be a slight rustling sound from passing vehicles and people exercising during morning rush hour. However, it's all within a tolerable range, and the white noise doesn't interfere with sleeping in. (All attached photos were taken from inside the room)

Entrance and lift to the right tower was a little hard to find initially, especially for us who don't understand much Chinese and lift change to a different tower is required. Written instruction would've been useful. Room is ok, very low ceiling, nearly touched our head. Very cramped and not as spacious and nice as in photo. Lots of marks and scratches on the floor. Shower area is not clean, hair from previous stay still there. Our washing machine was broken. It couldn't be fixed in the 3 nights we stayed. The technician came on the second day and the floor was left dirty. We were offered to use the washing machine in a different unit, but with no dryer, it made it difficult. The electricity went out on our first morning and there was no power for about 3-4 hours. Then the evacuation building evacuation notice came on, twice that morning. We evacuated as that's the norm in our country. We're later told it's just a testing. It would've been nice if we were informed or there's some kind of communication on the floor. Very disruptive as we have young children. The evacuation drill happened again the next morning. We knew then to stay. The best thing about this apartment is the location. Close to all the hustle and bustle is Changsha, lots of eateries choices. On the negative side, we could hear thumping music and felt the vibration from nearby clubs until 3-4 in the morning.
