2-Star Hotels in Zurich

The hotel location is convenient, right next to a large supermarket. However, parking is limited. When we arrived, we were told there were no spaces available, so we had to park in a nearby mall, which was quite expensive. The room was tidy and clean. There was no air conditioning, but they had a cooling unit. It wasn't as effective as AC, but luckily it was cool at night and not stuffy. The bedding was comfortable, and the furniture felt high-quality. The soundproofing was a bit poor, though, making it easy to be disturbed.

The hotel's location is excellent, right across the bridge from the train station. There's a large supermarket by the bridge where you can buy vegetables, fruits, and bread. To the right of the entrance is a Starbucks, and to the left, down an alley, are many restaurants and souvenir shops. From the hotel, it's walking distance along the Limmat River to Bahnhofstrasse, Zurich's Old Town, and Fraumünster Church. The room was small, as expected, and the bed was on the smaller side but clean and comfortable. There's no air conditioning, but a floor fan was provided, and with the window open, it wasn't hot even in late May. However, one incident was unacceptable: on May 31st, we were out all day, and when we returned that evening, our room door was open (the cleaning staff must have forgotten to lock it after cleaning). We immediately checked, and thankfully, nothing was missing. We were too tired to report it to the hotel at the time and checked out early the next morning.

The people at Arlette Hotel were great! Very friendly and helpful. Zurich is a very expensive city and the Arlette is a very good value. The room (101) was smallish as was the bathroom. But we have come to expect that in the older European hotels. It was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed after a full day of sightseeing in Zurich and the magnificent Alps. The Arlette is just a short walk away to the bus and train station; and there is a great breakfast spot right next door and good kebab restaurant a few doors down. The gentleman at the desk even allowed us to check in very early after a long redeye flight. That was truly wonderful gesture. It says a lot about how caring the staff is. If we ever return to Zurich, we will be sure to stay here.

In general, the hotel offers a balance between fee, location, and service. The room is clean, the location is suitable for walking to all the sightseeing places in Zurich. However, it is noteworthy that the bathroom and the toilet are not inside the room, you must go to separate places. This is not mentioned when I place the booking, or I didn’t pay attention to this detail. I travelled during the not-busy season so it is OK, most of the time when I wanted to use the bathroom, it was available. However, during the travel seasons, you should be aware.

The location is very good, only a few minutes walk to the Zurich Hb station. The bedroom is neat but a little small. The bedroom is only equipped with a sink, whereas the toilet and shower are shared, one in each floor. The check-in service only runs at 9-12 am and 2-7 pm. If you arrive late, remember to fill in the late check-in form and you will receive an email in the arrival day. Then yo ucan pick up your key in the key box.

The location and cleanliness of the room were excellent. However, there doesn't seem to be a permanent staff member at the hotel, so you need a passcode to enter. This means you must complete the web check-in by the day before your arrival to receive the passcode and room number via email from the hotel. It's absolutely essential not to forget to do the self-check-in beforehand.

The location of the hotel is excellent and the service is very good. The price in the place of Zurich, Switzerland is quite affordable. The important thing is that the hotel is in the central area, close to the attractions and stations.
