Wusuowei1990The location is fantastic, making it super convenient to get around. The owner is incredibly kind and thoughtful. I arrived at the apartment with my child at around 12:40 AM, and since it's right on the street, it was very easy to find. The room was spotless. Everything in the apartment was from Xiaomi, and the owner even gave us a map with recommended attractions and local eateries – not a single bad recommendation! The subway station is right downstairs, and it's only a 2-minute walk to Chunxi Road Pedestrian Street, and very close to Taikoo Li. This was the best apartment I've stayed in during my travels, and I'll definitely be back.

Posted on Apr 26, 2026|Eight-Person Male-Only Dormitory (Per Person Rate)
Guest UserI stayed at Subway Hostel for one night (April 14–15, 2026) in the eight-person male-only dorm, and overall it was a decent budget stay with a few trade-offs.
The price is definitely one of the main advantages—it’s an affordable option if you just need a place to sleep. The dorm itself was fairly standard for a hostel: multiple bunk beds, limited personal space, and a very communal feel. With eight people in the room, it did feel a bit more crowded compared to smaller dorms, so it might not be ideal if you’re a light sleeper or prefer quieter environments.
Cleanliness was acceptable but not exceptional. The room was generally fine, though it could use more frequent upkeep, especially with that many guests coming in and out. The shared bathroom situation was similar—usable, but sometimes a bit busy and not always spotless during peak times.
One positive was the location and convenience—easy to get around and access nearby areas, which is always a plus when you’re only staying briefly. The atmosphere depended a lot on the other guests; during my stay, it was manageable, but noise can vary.
Staff interactions were minimal but efficient. Check-in and check-out went smoothly without any complications.
Overall, Subway Hostel works well if you’re traveling on a tight budget and don’t mind a busy, shared environment. It’s not the most comfortable or private option, but for a short, inexpensive stay, it gets the job done.

This is the only genuine review from a guest who actually stayed there: 1. The actual room did not match the advertisement. The layout, room type, and size were all completely different. It was terrible, only 15 square meters, tiny, and the window was small. It was false advertising. The solution offered was to upgrade the room type for an extra 200 yuan. 2. It opened this month, and the formaldehyde levels were seriously excessive. I couldn't open my eyes after staying there. 3. The air conditioner vent was directly facing the bed, and I felt like I was going to have facial paralysis when I woke up. 4. Strict check-out time was 12 o'clock. If we were 10 minutes late, the front desk would knock on the door frantically. We were 50 minutes late, and the entire 100 yuan deposit was deducted. 5. The mirror faced the bed. You can't open your eyes at night or you'll be startled. 6. The guesthouse is located in a residential building and is very hard to find. It occupies two floors, with many twists and turns, making it easy to get lost. You also have to climb stairs yourself; there is no elevator. 7. The owner was rude. Not only did he deduct the deposit without reason, but he also used insulting language such as ”white girlfriend” and other derogatory terms. 8. The infinity pool is a gimmick. It's actually located right at the entrance of the guesthouse and is tiny! It was bustling with people; swimming here might be a nightmare. In summary: I paid 343 yuan for a lesson. All the reviews were from Sichuan IPs, obviously fake. I'm giving it two stars to avoid being blocked; the actual experience was zero stars. I spent a day and a half arguing with the owner…

Tuan Ying GohSituated within the old town. Filled with food options downstairs. Many stores as well. Touristy place. Don’t expect too much for this price. The general area and room are clean enough. Mattress is thin but didn’t bother me much for my three nights stay. Squad toilet with shower overhead. Small cubicle but enough to move around and does it’s work. Might be hard to find the place, so give the boss a call when you are in the area. He will guide you up this apartment. Stairway is dark and dirty. But then again, for this price. Go with an open mind. Eight person dorm has window that opens out to the outside. Whereas the four person room is much smaller and window opens out to the living room. Btw, the boss stay in the hostel compound too. He’s happy to share his travel stories and recommend places to go.

The room was spotlessly clean, and the location was incredibly convenient. It's just a few minutes' walk downstairs to the Giant Panda Research Base. If you visit early in the morning, you'll see many pandas, and you won't even need to wake up early for a bus from the city center. My niece absolutely loved the panda theme! The decor was so incredibly photogenic, she could have spent all day just taking pictures in the room – it was fantastic! Our host even gifted us panda headbands, which we absolutely adored and immediately wore to the base for photos! Highly recommend!

The location is super convenient, right next to the subway exit. You can find it quickly after getting off the train, no need to navigate small alleys, which is great if you arrive late in Chengdu as it feels safe. I forgot my power bank, and the staff member (Ayi) was super responsive and helpful in finding and retrieving it, so a big thank you to her! The only minor points for improvement would be that some beds are very close to the restroom, which can make it a bit stuffy and humid, and the place feels a little dated. However, considering the price, it's understandable. So, if you're booking, you might want to make a note about your bed preference, as they can usually accommodate if there are empty beds. Wishing the Ayi fully booked days!

Guest UserThere are pictures and the truth. You can take a look at the pictures. This is the dormitory environment without beauty and filters throughout the whole process. The accommodation is similar to the university dormitory. Every bed has a curtain for me. It gives me a good sense of security. I ordered it yesterday afternoon and I didn’t find it for a long time. It was already 20 o’clock at that time. The boss took the initiative to ask me where I went, can I find where I have been, do I need to pick it up, it makes people feel warm, sisters who need accommodation can consider this
