"Stayed for two nights room only. I really liked the design of the hotel, artwork and facilities. The pool area is really nice and they have their own sun beds on Miami Beach which are complementary for hotel guests. Hotel is about 1 street back from the beach but still a wonderful location.
The room was comfortable without being spectacular, everything worked and it was a decent size. Rooms are not as interestingly designed as the rest of the hotel.
All staff I talked to were very nice and helpful but at both checkin and checkout there were long lines to speak to someone. We waited over 20 mins to start the checkin process.
Overall I would be happy to stay at The Gates Hotel again."

"Pool area was lovely. Beach was nice but the guys did not set up chairs/ umbrellas until almost 10 when morning can be loveliest time. Umbrellas $22 a day. Parking $44 a day plus valet tips. Ordered a “house cab” at the pool bar and was charged $20 which did not include 20% tip nor service charge, coffee in the morning pricey and usually entailed waiting in a long line so incidentals added up very very quickly costing more than the original room bill though we went off site for most of the time for meals. Food there was good. There is construction in the front of the hotel which makes it problematic every time you drive out or back. One way traffic creeps along requiring you to come in, pass the hotel, attempt a u-turn several blocks down and creep back slowly in a perpetual traffic jam to arrive at the front of the hotel. Room was immaculate and well tended though stairwells a bit trashy. Loved the music there on the weekends, excellent food and lovely pool tho. Staff very accommodating too. Those made it a real escape from reality."

"The location is great, right on Wash.st. and the street of shops and cafes Lincoln rd. Also close to the bustling Ocean dr. The hotel itself is very old and has undergone renovation, but it didn’t help much. Audibility is very good, the walls are thin both on the sides and between floors. Cleaning in the rooms is also very poor."

DDeehanSuperb facilities and location. Rooms exceptional and housekeeping staff great! A workforce (and teams) of two halves - some friendly and helpful, others rude and dismissive of guests - equally felt as if some staff were working harder than others and a lot of ‘standing around’ by the work shy crew members pretending to be busy doing very little. Could be an amazing experience if service (and staff training) was consistent.

GGuest UserThe room type should be the most expensive in the hotel. Check-in was delayed until 5:30 pm. The mattress of the king-size bed in the guest room collapsed in half. I complained to the hotel, but the mattress was not replaced in time. Later, I found that the sliding door lock on the first floor of the guest room could not be locked. It was not repaired that night. The lock was replaced the next morning. The coffee cup was not cleaned. You can clearly see the coffee stains on the cup. The round table in the living room was not wiped clean. The sticky stuff on it got on my computer and it was disgusting. Overall, I will not book this hotel next time. Disappointed

任任The hotel is in the heart of South Beach, and the location is superb. The swimming pool is awesome, facing the beach. The room is either facing the swimming pool or looking out to sea. High sea view room is recommended. The hotel is a well-known old building in the art deco district, and there are endless groups of thematic tourism groups in the hotel lobby. Although the rooms are not large, they are full of design and do not have the sound insulation problems common in old buildings. The shortcoming is breakfast: the restaurant is mainly for dinner parties, the quality of breakfast is very poor, and the waiter looks at you to get the voucher. I guess I can't get the tip, the service is extremely inadequate and Ignore. It is not recommended to book a room with breakfast.

JJINGQIANGAt the beach in central Miami, the beach is at the doorstep. The shape is a 50s and 60s building, and the interior is a modern style that has just been renovated. It is very comfortable to live in, and there are fewer restaurants around.

GGuest UserThe hotel was very spacious and with a partial view of the ocean was top! In general, all staff were very welcome (room staff, general reception, small dej...). The swimming pool is very good, quite large, the access to the private beach with transats and parasols is top, as well for the really complete sports room.
The only negative points remain the WIFI not always operational, with a poor general connection ( at the very beginning I was informed that it was due to work ongoing) and breakfast that is not quite varied

GGuest UserThe room was adequate but not luxurious. The staff was polite. The location is good and quiet at night. There are trolley stops on both corners (Collins and Indian Creek) that allow you to travel around the island for free. There's a large supermarket (Publix) less than 10 blocks away. A Starbucks is just around the corner. However, the beach resort service was not honored. For half of our stay, they told us it was no longer available, which makes no sense because it's a contracted service that depended on a hotel located eight blocks away and is part of the same hotel group. This is stated on their website and in the terms and conditions agreed upon through the app. Breakfast is another area that needs improvement... they always served the same thing with few healthy options (scrambled eggs, sausages, ham, roasted potatoes, bread, and either a mandarin orange or orange). In short, it's an affordable hotel with a good location, but it doesn't deliver on its promises and the breakfast is quite poor.

GGuest UserPlace was very nice. Great view. If I had to point out some things. There are some drywall repairs that need attention. Few wobbly pieces of furniture. Bathroom faucet is a bit loose. I’d say invest some time on the aesthetics possibly get a better bang for your buck . Other than that . It was great. Those are my thoughts as I do home repairs for a living. Thank you for the experience and giving us the pleasure to stay at your home.
