Guest User[”I've found a hidden gem of a guesthouse on Yangshuo West Street! The overall environment is comfortable and quiet, the room is clean and tidy, making for an exceptionally relaxing stay. The guesthouse has a bunch of fluffy cats and a gentle, adorable dog. Petting cats and walking the dog cures all travel fatigue. The owner is super friendly, and the location is very close to West Street, making it incredibly convenient for going out and eating. I'll definitely choose this place again next time I'm in Yangshuo, highly recommend!”,”The most delightful stop on my trip to Yangshuo was right by West Street, a peaceful haven amidst the bustle. The moment I walked in, I felt completely at ease. The room decor was cozy and clean, and the bedding was soft, making it incredibly relaxing to lie down after a busy day.\n The biggest surprise at the guesthouse was the array of small animals in the courtyard. There were groups of adorable cats, each with its own charm, who would actively come over to rub against you and ask for pets. There was also a well-behaved, affectionate dog. Sitting in the courtyard, petting the cats and playing with the dog, while looking out at the mountains and water, instantly calmed all my worries.\n The owner was thoughtful and attentive, even sharing tips on which West Street eateries to avoid. The hygiene was excellent, with absolutely no pet odors. This healing little courtyard is perfect for a getaway. I've already recommended it to friends, and I'll definitely stay here again when I return to Yangshuo!”,”I found a heavenly guesthouse on Yangshuo West Street! ✨\nThe environment is so comfy I didn't want to leave, the courtyard is pure healing!\nLoads of soft, cuddly cats to pet, plus a super well-behaved dog for company.\nComing back from West Street to pet the furbabies just boosts my travel happiness to max!\nRoom is clean and tidy, owner is warm and caring, location is perfect.\nA must-stay for animal lovers, you can't go wrong here!”,”Five-star rating! The guesthouse location is excellent, right next to West Street, making travel very convenient. The interior environment is tranquil and comfortable, and the rooms are meticulously cleaned, providing an excellent stay experience. The owner has several gentle cats and an adorable dog, creating a warm and healing atmosphere; the animals are friendly and quiet. The owner's service is warm, attentive, and detail-oriented. It offers great value for money, highly recommended for friends visiting Yangshuo.”]

Guest UserThis guesthouse, or 'minsu' as they call it, actually surpasses many mid-to-low tier chain hotels. They offer free breakfast, afternoon tea, and evening desserts, and while the selection isn't huge, it's pretty decent. The laundry room is incredibly well-equipped; there are two of them on-site with plenty of washing machines and dryers, which is super convenient for long trips. The only minor inconvenience was the lack of a brush in the laundry sink. They've also thought of many thoughtful little details, like bags for clothes, disposable and regular slippers, conditioner in the bathroom, earplugs, unlimited bottled water, and even a tip in the room advising guests that they can hang clothes near the air vent. The hotel also sends daily WeChat reminders about meal times and asks if I want my room cleaned (though this is standard for chain hotels, I've stayed in guesthouses that don't clean your room during extended stays). All in all, it's better than many big-name hotels; I even asked the front desk if it was a chain hotel! The only slight downside might be that they don't offer a shuttle service in Yangshuo city, but taxis are very convenient and quite affordable. There's also a place to see lotus flowers nearby, but the water level was high these past two days, so I couldn't enjoy that.

Guest UserHidden deep within the Ten-Mile Gallery, this hotel completely isolates itself from the hustle and bustle of the outside world. The sense of escapism, in my opinion, is almost comparable to the Lux* Chongzuo, making for a truly satisfying vacation. As a well-established luxury brand originating from Indonesia, it's impressive how it has rooted itself amidst the natural beauty of Yangshuo while still deeply preserving its Indonesian heritage. For instance, the breakfast features an Indonesian-style set menu, all freshly prepared à la carte. The guest room walls are adorned with traditional Balinese Ubud Batik wax paintings. During turndown service at night, candles are lit to warm aromatic essential oils, replicating the local Balinese pre-sleep ritual. The pool is paved with unique Indonesian stone, appearing grey when dry but revealing a beautiful blue-green hue when submerged in water.
The hotel's service and quality are exceptional: the butler's WhatsApp replies were prompt, and despite the high greenery coverage, I wasn't bitten by a single mosquito during my two-day stay, indicating excellent pest control. The 450 sqm single-bedroom standalone villa is spacious, and the private pool is ample in both size and depth. Amenities include Cha Ling toiletries, a brand under LV, and the rooms are equipped with Bose speakers and Laifen hair dryers, ensuring top-notch hardware. It's rare for a hotel to maintain its original quality and standards after many years of operation, unlike many domestic hotels that gradually cut costs and downgrade after just a year or two. If you're looking for an immersive escape into nature in Yangshuo, I truly believe this place is worth a special trip. At the very least, if I get another chance to visit Yangshuo, this will still be my go-to resort for a second stay.

SukiEscape the City Bustle | A Century-Old Guesthouse
This time, I chose a really unique guesthouse. The cottage, with its mud walls and blue tiles, has so much character! This guesthouse, transformed from a 150-year-old house, is nestled halfway up the mountains in Yangshuo's Golden Orange countryside. Open the window, and you're greeted with a view of karst peaks, like a traditional Chinese ink painting.
The guesthouse features rare Guangxi-style rammed earth architecture. The century-old walls blend beautifully with modern design aesthetics, and the designer is quite renowned; every corner tells a story. There's a panoramic terrace on the mountain where you can watch both sunrise and sunset. We received personalized butler service upon arrival, and they kindly helped with our luggage, making for a warm and thoughtful experience.
We stayed in a family room, which was decorated with a serene Zen aesthetic – clean and comfortable. The furniture was exquisite, and even the bedside speaker was a premium brand. Lying in bed at night, you can gaze at the stars, with mountain breezes carrying the scent of grass and trees. It’s truly healing and relaxing 🌙.
Tips for Kids & Family Fun:
You can pet cats in the courtyard, and there's a hiking trail behind the mountain. On a clear day, you can chase the sunset. The yard is adorned with persimmons, giving it a festive, New Year's feel. In this century-old home, slow down and enjoy the mountains and wind with your children.
Nearby Attractions (self-driven and personally tested):
**A Thousand Miles of Rivers and Mountains (Qianli Jiangshan Tu)** | 5-minute drive
This is a real-life panoramic scroll of ink-wash landscapes. Both sunrise and sunset are perfect for photos. Light-colored outfits look stunning for traditional Chinese-style photos.
**Qixianfeng Tea Plantation** | 25-minute drive
The mountains are covered in lush green tea trees. Bring your kids to experience tea picking and making, then sip on freshly picked green tea – a fantastic educational and bonding experience for the family.
**Farm Golden Orange Picking** | 15-minute drive
Orchards abound near Qianli Jiangshan Tu. At 15 yuan per jin (approx. 0.5 kg), it's an immersive rural experience with a bountiful harvest.
**West Street Snacks** | 10-minute drive
Ai Ye Ba (mugwort cakes) and Osmanthus Cakes are sweet and soft. The bamboo tube chicken is a must-try; the chicken soup is fresh and rich, with a natural bamboo fragrance. Perfect for a leisurely food tour.

🏔️😱 Don’t know how it was possible, but this hotel was even more beautiful in real life than the photos. Built inside a renovated historic sugar factory, Yangshuo Sugar House combines the refined aesthetics of the mountain landscape with historical architectural elegance. ✨
🚙🌾 The hotel offers various free and at-cost activities you can book through their concierge. We wanted to go see the Longji Rice Steps during our stay, which is about an 2.5 hour drive away from Yangshuo by car. I messaged the hotel the day before we arrived and they were able to arrange a private driver to take us there and back over an 8 hour trip. Mr. Qin was amazing and very kind! He took us directly to buy the tickets and then drove us to the entrance point of the cable car. There was pretty extreme rain on the way back and he got us down the mountain very efficiently. It was an extremely memorable day which was only made possible by the hotel’s extraordinary attentive drivers and diligent concierge staff. ⭐️
🍴The room comes with a daily buffet breakfast, free soft drinks, and fruit. The hotel restaurant is good, but breakfast is really where the food shines. So many delicious options to choose from, and there was adorable panda shaped buns 🐼
📸 The hotel also offers free travel photography on the premises, which takes about 30~ minutes and you receive 5 free photos, with additional available to purchase at 50 yuan. It was fun and very efficient!
🌸 Overall, a major highlight of our China trip & we wish we had stayed longer. Thank you again!

YipingmaopaodekeleI’m pretty fed up. I traveled thousands of miles to Yangshuo, with high hopes for the Banyan Tree brand, and checked into this riverside mountain hotel. Initially, I thought a four-star rating would be grudgingly acceptable, but I feel only two stars truly reflect my disappointment:
1. I booked a Mountain Impression Suite King room, but upon check-in, I found the room was on the first floor. The balcony on the first floor only offered a view of a row of greenery; I couldn't see any mountains or the sky. Instead, I could look up to see a road and a gray wall directly opposite. If the preview photos of the room had shown this, I definitely wouldn't have booked this room type (was I downgraded?)
2. The room came with a thoughtful hot and cold filtered water dispenser, which I commend. However, with this device, there wasn't a single bottle of mineral water provided in the room. I specifically called to request mineral water and asked the server why it wasn't provided. They said it was because of the dispenser. I then asked what kind of water was added to the dispenser's reservoir. The reply was tap water. I wonder, shouldn't there be a notice indicating to what extent the filter purifies the water to make it drinkable? And how often are the filter cartridges changed?
3. The power outlet in the bathroom stopped working on the second day after one night's use (it worked perfectly upon check-in). I had no choice but to go to the bar to plug in my hairdryer and dry my wet hair. I know you renovated in 2015, but it shouldn't be that in just over 10 years, I'd experience an electrical issue.
4. After 11 PM, electric buggies were still whizzing back and forth on the road outside the door. The road is paved with stone slabs, and the buggies seem quite old. The clanking and rattling didn't stop until 1 or 2 AM, and then resumed at 6 AM. I wonder if other guests on the first floor feel the same way.
5. I chose this hotel because my previous experiences had made me trust the quality of Banyan Tree. I picked this Banyan Tree in Guilin because it had a peacock garden and its own pier on the Li River. After checking in, the peacocks were indeed a pleasant surprise, walking around everywhere. However, regarding the bamboo raft trip from the pier, the entire route and scenery were, honestly, underwhelming – few people, high prices, and short duration. I advise future guests, if you have ample time, to go to Xingping Ancient Town for a better experience.
6. Breakfast required queuing after 9 AM. I've experienced this in popular scenic areas, but the hotel provided no prior notice, and the queue management was chaotic, leading to many frustrated guests. The black truffle beef tartare crisps offered were, at first, something I thought I might have misjudged or was unlucky with, but after a second taste, I confirmed the bread was definitely not fresh. After giving feedback to the server, who then consulted with the head chef, the explanation was that the bread developed that taste from being covered in a box after baking. I have to commend that explanation – no need to argue with the server. At the noodle station, I ordered a bowl of Guilin rice noodles, but the bowl was about the size of a small congee bowl. Once the noodles were in, any topping would make the soup overflow, let alone stirring it. Would using a larger bowl make it seem less refined?
7. After staying for three days and two nights, the butler only sent the reservation method for the hotel's family activities on the evening before our departure. Upon checking, all activities were fully booked. It felt like they were just there for show.
8. The daily housekeeping staff, compared to hotels of a similar caliber, were lacking. Rarely have I seen clothes scattered on the bed or chair simply crumpled into a ball and thrown into my suitcase. I've stayed in hotels worse than Banyan Tree, but the housekeepers there would fold my clothes and place them at the foot of the bed. I wonder if this is an isolated incident, but it's quite disappointing.
9. At 10 PM, I ordered a drink at the Western restaurant and sat outside. The chair I sat on had a broken leg, which caused me to fall.

Guest UserFor first-time visitors to Yangshuo, staying on West Street is an absolute must! It's incredibly convenient and I didn't find it noisy at all. Definitely rent an electric scooter from your hotel; it's cheaper. While there are many places to rent scooters outside, the prices vary. This hotel offers great value for money. There's a small kids' play area on the ground floor, and even though it's not huge, my little one loved it and had to play there every day before heading out and after coming back.

Sabrina IrdThe Yangshuo Lisa Boutique Hotel is a simple place, but a real hidden gem.
Cozy, authentic and beautifully maintained – exactly what you look for when you want to feel at home, even far away. The staff, almost entirely female, are extremely kind, patient, always helpful and genuinely lovely. Their smiles and care make all the difference.
Breakfast is excellent and generous: you choose from three dishes, but portions are large and well-balanced, both sweet and savory. I stayed in room 307 and it was fantastic: traditional tatami with a motorized pull-out table activated by a button (such a cool detail!), a relaxing atmosphere and a stunning view over the city and the karst mountains. Spotless cleanliness with daily cleaning and linen changes – always perfect. I also highly recommend the spa massages inside the hotel:
professional, relaxing and truly rejuvenating – the perfect way to unwind after a long day. Highly recommended:
a simple hotel, yes, but with soul, style and great attention to detail. A true little gem. 💎

This hotel may seem unassuming, but it surprisingly features a small pool and a viewing platform with great views of the surroundings. The platform even has a cute setup perfect for taking photos. The breakfast buffet was quite generous, and the first-floor restaurant offered a complimentary late-night dessert buffet. We stayed in a family room with a 1.5m single bed and a 1.8m double bed, and it was decorated very warmly. You can rent electric scooters for 30 or 40 yuan per day, just return them before 11 PM. The staff, from the front desk to the cleaning ladies, were all very enthusiastic, patient, and thoughtful.
