Seaview Hotels in Hakodate

"Parking is easy to access and there are still plenty of car parks even if you arrive later in the evening, which we did. Lobby area provides free flow welcome drinks from the soda machine, which is quite a pleasant surprise. The room layout that we had was very odd, not something we would have picked if we had known. The queen sized bed was placed in the middle of the room, facing the windows. Behind the bed post was a small area with arm chairs and an additional TV. The design intention probably was to create a lounging area away from the sleeping area but it’s a neither here nor there kind of space. The pillows provided were very small, more suitable for children than adults. I have attached a photo of the pillows. It’s the most uncomfortable pillows we ever had throughout our travel in Japan."

"This is the hotel we changed from the chain hotel at the station. Because there is a hot spring here. It is only one stop from the airport to the hotel, and even if you take a taxi, it is only 50 RMB. There is a very convenient bus stop at the door of the hotel, and it takes about 30 minutes to get to the city. The hotel's breakfast is very rich and you can eat it every day. The hot spring service is also quite commendable. I highly recommend it. If you go with a family, book a room by the sea. In fact, it is very cost-effective. "The hotels in the Yunokawa Onsen area are generally quite average, and Umi to Akari, which is a Four Points by Marriott, is no exception. However, its price is double what you'd expect. Perhaps I booked too last minute. To be honest, for this price, I'd choose other, higher-end options, and even taking a taxi there to enjoy the hot springs would be more cost-effective. This hotel does offer day-use hot spring access. Here's my experience from a few perspectives: 1. **Hygiene:** You generally don't need to worry about hygiene in Japanese hotels, and this place is no different. 2. **Dining:** I opted for the one-night, two-meal plan, and after checking in, I realized it was the worst decision. The food quality was truly average. Although there was a lot of seafood and unlimited crab legs, it was just… mediocre. I ate one meal and never went back. I'd rather walk across the street to ”Ichimonji” for Hokkaido ramen 🍜. Coincidentally, it was a Japanese holiday, and the breakfast queue was unbelievably long 🤪. 3. **Clientele:** This hotel primarily caters to tour groups. Buses kept pulling up, dropping off loads of tourists, if you catch my drift. 4. **Accommodation:** The bed and pillows were really uncomfortable. I'll spare you the details... 5. **Hot Springs:** Clean, and the quality of the hot spring water was good. It was slightly salty, and my skin felt silky smooth after bathing. There weren't many Chinese guests, and everyone was very particular about hot spring etiquette, maintaining personal space. This was a definite plus (especially with so many tour groups staying there)."

"The hotel is a bit far from the city center; the closest bus stop is the botanical garden, and it's about a 15-minute walk from the tram. The public baths are located on the first and eighth floors. On the first floor, there's a sauna, a jacuzzi, a large indoor pool, a small outdoor one, and a cold plunge pool. In the evening, after your bath, you can grab some ice cream from the freezer next to the women's bath. On the eighth floor, there are two smaller pools, one indoor and one outdoor. From the outdoor pools, you can hear the ocean and smell the sea air. You need to bring towels from your room, but yukata are provided. In the room, there's tea, coffee, and cold water available."

"I'd call this unbeatable. First off, the front desk service was truly above and beyond my expectations. It was snowing heavily, and the bellhop was still waiting outside for guests to arrive, helping with luggage. The outdoor private onsen in the room was also exceptional; the view and atmosphere were incredible. The breakfast, with its unbeatable ocean view, topped it all off. I had a wonderful day in Hakodate!"
