"- microwave and washing machine in the room(recommended to buy Hakodate milk and heat it up using microwave, make your own milktea using free tea bag from hotel) - great location, right beside hakodate morning market - there is a Hot spring bath with sea view - free coffee and a comfortable lounge with sea view - unpleasant check-in experience, one of the staff is impatient - No bottled water provided in the room. Check-in experience was a bit unpleasant when we arrived earlier (we knew we were early and weren’t requesting for early check-in). One of the male staff was quite unfriendly and kept repeating “no early check-in” when we were just asking whether we could store our luggage before check-in. He seemed quite impatient throughout. However, the rest of the staff were good, and even lent us a knife and cutting board to cut the melon we bought. Location is great, right beside the morning market, and only about a 7-minute walk to the JR station. We came during spring so the walk was totally fine."

"This is definitely my favorite hotel in Hakodate! The hotel is stylish, modern, and feels brand new. We stayed in the tatami room, which was incredibly comfortable for our family of five. The room was spacious and even had a dining area, making it perfect for relaxing after a day of sightseeing. The breakfast buffet was excellent, with a wide variety of delicious Japanese and Western dishes to choose from. The onsen was another highlight of our stay—clean, relaxing, and definitely a must-try! Overall, everything exceeded our expectations. If we're lucky enough to visit Hakodate again, we would definitely stay here again. Highly recommended for families!"

"The location is very convenient, right next to the station, and Hakodate Morning Market is just behind it. We stayed in a double room with one bed. The room space was a bit small, but for Japan, where space is at a premium, it was acceptable. Check-in wasn't until 3:00 PM, so after we dropped off our luggage, we went exploring the city. I booked a room with breakfast included, and the quality of the breakfast was quite good, as you can see from my pictures – it was varied and well-balanced. The hotel lobby offers hot coffee and various small packaged toiletries, but these are only available after 3:00 PM, not in the morning. A minor disappointment is that the hotel doesn't have a large public bath."

"The hotel's location is fantastic! It's super close to Hakodate Morning Market, squid fishing shops, Hakodate JR Station, and popular restaurants, offering a wide variety of dining options. It's also not far from other attractions. Great value for money, perfect for a family trip."

"If you have a rental car, the location is great. They also don't charge for parking! The accommodation is clean, has a balcony, and there's a convenience store nearby. We had both breakfast and dinner, and the food was nicely prepared and presented. About 95% of the guests were Japanese. The bedding was good, and everything was great, but what stood out the most was the onsen water. I've been to many places in Japan, but I think the seawater onsen here is the best; it makes your skin so smooth!"

"The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of Goryokaku tram station. There are convenience stores, a Loft, and Starbucks nearby. It's also not far from Goryokaku Tower, where you can find Lucky Pierrot burgers and Shunka Sushi. A slightly longer walk will take you to Rokkatei for some delicious pastries. I arrived early and the staff kindly stored my luggage for me. They even provided pajamas, which was a lovely touch! 🥰"

"The hotels in the Yunokawa Onsen area are generally quite average, and Umi to Akari, which is a Four Points by Marriott, is no exception. However, its price is double what you'd expect. Perhaps I booked too last minute. To be honest, for this price, I'd choose other, higher-end options, and even taking a taxi there to enjoy the hot springs would be more cost-effective. This hotel does offer day-use hot spring access. Here's my experience from a few perspectives: 1. **Hygiene:** You generally don't need to worry about hygiene in Japanese hotels, and this place is no different. 2. **Dining:** I opted for the one-night, two-meal plan, and after checking in, I realized it was the worst decision. The food quality was truly average. Although there was a lot of seafood and unlimited crab legs, it was just… mediocre. I ate one meal and never went back. I'd rather walk across the street to ”Ichimonji” for Hokkaido ramen 🍜. Coincidentally, it was a Japanese holiday, and the breakfast queue was unbelievably long 🤪. 3. **Clientele:** This hotel primarily caters to tour groups. Buses kept pulling up, dropping off loads of tourists, if you catch my drift. 4. **Accommodation:** The bed and pillows were really uncomfortable. I'll spare you the details... 5. **Hot Springs:** Clean, and the quality of the hot spring water was good. It was slightly salty, and my skin felt silky smooth after bathing. There weren't many Chinese guests, and everyone was very particular about hot spring etiquette, maintaining personal space. This was a definite plus (especially with so many tour groups staying there)."

"The view is absolutely unbeatable! I stayed in the annex last time, and while the main building is a bit dated, the incredible scenery makes up for everything. The room size was just right, and the cleanliness was acceptable. Breakfast was definitely plentiful and delicious, better than the annex in my opinion, but in other aspects, the annex was superior. The front desk staff were quite good, but the other staff were just so-so, treating both Japanese and foreigners with the same rather indifferent attitude. Also, there's no private onsen (hot spring bath). Checkout was super easy and self-service."

"I stayed for three nights in a king-size bed room, room 422. On the morning of July 21, 2026, I saw a maid tidying up the room next door, so I told her I was on a multi-night stay and didn't need my room cleaned, just a bottle of water. Then I changed my mind and asked for the water for the third day as well. She responded rather rudely, curtly refusing me with 'no,' stating that only one bottle was given per day. She didn't use polite language and had a completely different demeanor from the other hotel staff. The maid on the second day, however, was very polite. She proactively asked if I needed a bottle of water. I said no, but she thoughtfully left bathrobes, towels, and water outside my room door later. Although I didn't use them, her service felt warm and considerate."
