"Very close to Yungang Grottoes. Parking is easy. The room is comfortable, clean, has floor heating, and is pet-friendly. It is also convenient to walk the dog out of the small hill in the courtyard. I ordered noodles and stir-fried vegetables in the evening, which suited my appetite. Breakfast is a bit simple, porridge, steamed buns and pickles, eggs or noodles. Those who are demanding can go to the living area to eat."

"Datong Jixia Mountain, 3600 a night – seriously, avoid this place. I guess you could say it's the best hotel in Datong, but by the same token, it absolutely does not live up to its price. Maybe it's because Wen Yu Tang gave me so many pleasant surprises that I had such high hopes for Jixia Mountain, but it turns out, with very few exceptions, B&Bs are just B&Bs. The fact is, don't set your expectations too high. The entire public area feels like it's purely for Instagram check-ins. Everyone comes here determined to get that perfect shot. All the facilities are incredibly user-unfriendly, plus the key card system often takes multiple attempts to work. Inside, the cheap, hard finishes are just indescribable. Did the designer even consider the actual guest experience when they designed this place? The most outrageous issues are the privacy and lighting in the room. The bedroom in my room had a huge glass window directly facing the outdoor corridor, separated only by a wooden fence. I could clearly see the opposite rooms and courtyard. I was hoping the turndown service would be more thoughtful, but the staff didn't even bother to close the blackout curtains on the corridor side. I wanted to get a good night's sleep, but then I realized there were an insane number of light sources in the room. After turning off all the lights, all the switch buttons glowed in the dark. I was already exhausted from a packed day of 'special forces'-style sightseeing, and I couldn't sleep well because of these glowing buttons. Then, early in the morning, I was woken up directly by sunlight streaming in from the corridor. Now I'm utterly exhausted. The only thing I can praise is the staff. They were very enthusiastic and you could tell they tried very hard to meet guests' requests, but the overall service process still felt quite clunky. Never mind. Paying this price really bought me a lesson. The cost of having such high expectations was utter disappointment. (The restaurant food, however, was unexpectedly good, much lighter than outside, and the staff were very warm.)"

"The location is superb, quiet yet conveniently located, within walking distance of all attractions, yet not on a main road, giving a strong sense of security. It's surrounded by the Southeast Yi commercial district and close to the Drum Tower, which is beautifully lit up at night. The hotel's infrastructure is excellent, incredibly clean, and stylishly upscale, with super comfortable beds. The private hot spring is incredibly relaxing and offers excellent privacy. They even provide complimentary grapefruit and grapefruit tea, and the toiletries are from Le Labo, adding to the luxurious feel. The breakfast is plentiful, with plenty of protein, staple foods, and vegetables. The service is truly exceptional, making guests feel right at home. We didn't know that airport transfers were only available, but the staff offered to take us to the high-speed rail station if no other guests needed a transfer. It's been a long time since I've experienced such excellent service at a hotel. Having only been open for a little over a month, I hope they maintain this high standard of service and accommodation. It's definitely the best choice for visiting Datong. The only three minor drawbacks are: the pillows were a little soft (the staff mentioned on the way back that they had received feedback that buckwheat pillows and memory foam pillows were available and could be requested from the butler); and the lack of a smart toilet seat, which was a little cold at first in winter."

"That road is full of big cars and no street lights. I keep switching the lights from far and near. But this hotel is the only highlight (the other is the Yunxuan Hotel together). There is a large parking lot. Visually, seven or eighty cars are no problem. The best thing is that there are about 20 charging piles. Great wine. The store is very clean. "My daughter and I made plans to see a JJ Lin concert in Beijing. She mentioned the spectacular thousand-year-old wooden pagoda in nearby Datong's Yingxian County, so we decided to visit Datong. When we booked a hotel, we found a fantastic deal, so we booked five nights, only arriving in Beijing for one. Once we arrived, we discovered Datong is truly a gem. The temperature was a comfortable 20 degrees Celsius, and the attractions were breathtaking, from the natural wonders—the earth forests and volcanic clusters—to the cultural and historical attractions—the Yungang Grottoes, the Datong Museum, the Hanging Temple, the wooden pagoda, and the Huayan Temple. I highly recommend this B&B. It's clean, the service is excellent, and the location is fantastic. In the morning, when I opened the curtains, I could see the sunrise over the mountains—a breathtaking view. It's also conveniently located near the train station, just a 10-minute bike ride to the ancient city. The shopping mall is just around the corner, and the famous Long Juxiang is right there—delicious food with no lines. The best part is, I expected the proximity to the train station to be noisy, but it was incredibly quiet. Otherwise, I would have stayed a few more days to catch the concert in Beijing. Datong was the main attraction of this concert trip, and the concert itself took a back seat. I was so happy!"

"Overall, it's good. There's a free parking lot. It's about a 15-minute drive from Datong Ancient City. It's recommended to take a taxi. The ancient city is very big and it's hard to find it after parking the car. Since it is on the edge of the city, it is more convenient to go out of the city to Yungang Grottoes the next day. The facilities are a bit old and the price is high. It must have been glorious back then."
