Impeccable stay at Utopian Hotels. From the second you walk in, you feel like you’re home. The Hotel and Rooms Utopian is located in a beautifully restored Portuguese home that still has some of its most beautiful original elements. The hotel is filled with beautiful artisanal furniture and a great selection of art and photography. The rooms are cozy and have all the amenities you need for a trip in Porto. Every detail was thought of. The rooms all have a FREE minibar filled with snacks and drinks for their guests to enjoy - such a treat - and the common area has a beautiful coffee machine with games and books to enjoy. Great Location Ideally located a short walk away from all the best restaurants and boutiques in Porto in a beautiful quiet neighbourhood, making you feel like a local! This place feels like a hidden gem and made my trip to Porto perfect.

The food in the hotel's bar is very good. The room is not very big, but the view and overall facilities are okay. It is between 4 and 5 stars. The only problem was that they forgot to clean our room, even though we didn't go out in the afternoon, they still forgot after reminding the hotel that it could be cleaned. Breakfast is relatively excellent. You cannot hail a taxi at the hotel entrance, but you can walk 2 minutes to the alley entrance to hail a taxi.

This was a fabulous place to start our trip in Portugal. Our apartment was well appointed and had a magnificent view over the river. It couldn’t have been in a more central place to explore the sights of Porto on foot. There was lots of activity below by the river but all noise stopped at 10pm sharp. The included breakfast had a good selection of food. Our only suggested improvement would be that it starts a little earlier given people often go on day trips. (It starts at 8am.) having said this, they gave us a takeaway breakfast one morning when we had an early start. The staff at the counter were super friendly and helpful.

Perfect location- just a few minutes to the river and a host of activity- easy walking around and finding several nice shops, bars and restaurants, all within an easy (ok sometimes uphill) walk around a beautiful city. Very nice hotel staff helped immensely with a bit of jet lag as well. Would stay here again for sure.

An obvious first class hotel. The room was exceptionally appointed and very spacious. The bathroom was stunning with all marble, separate water closet, shower and double sink vanity. Two closets for hanging and multiple drawers. Very quiet when windows were closed but opened to get the Porto city vibe, when desired. Great location and easily walkable to river or around town. The breakfast buffet was plentiful and delicious. The hotel team was gracious and helpful. The gym was small but had everything you needed to maintain some workout routine on vacation! We didn't enjoy the spa but toured it, including the indoor pool, and it was beautiful. The bar was cozy for a pre-evening drink and the staff was wonderful. Highly recommend this hotel as it will make your Porto experience one to remember!

What a royal style! I really like the interior design and the elevator is so interesting! Great location, walking distance to main attractions. Breakfast is good too! There is a complimentary tasting of Porto grape liqueur at the front desk and a lounge with coffee and other refreshments.

The tour itself was PERFECT in terms of balancing driving time, stops, explanations, guided walks & incorporating free time at each stop to stroll & explore each town at our own pace. Oh, most importantly, the group was small & manageable; wasting little time getting on or off the bus. The bus was for 20+ persons & we were 8. Felt like stretch-out first class seats (compared with an all day tour the previous day with Living Tours where the bus was FULL & time wasted getting on & off; although that tour was great as well. PExcellent communication with Buendia Tours. My only suggestion is to provide a photograph of the point of departure because there are TWO possible locations for the description provided. In the alternative, just say it’s the exit by the elevator (only one possibility). “Perfect” is the word I’d use to describe this hotel. NEW (smells new), stunning view of City Hall across the street, adjacent to two metro stations (one w direct airport access), varied & beautifully -presented breakfast, cozy bar serving Port & Portuguese wines (and free distilled water for guests), compact but beautifully designed lobby & chic well-lit corridors, fair price (book early) & a short Uber ride to Campahna Station (train to/from Lisbon). From the hotel, you can walk to many tourist sites & land tour meeting points. Fortunately, UBER & BOLT! operate in Oporto & are reasonably priced. I usually walked downhill but requested a ride share for my return or took the (new, clean, modern & safe) metro. The hotel has a staff of well-groomed, polite, professional, energetic & helpful Portuguese & Brazilian young people who together made my stay PERFECT. I especially commend Edoardo who handled a seamless (and very pleasant) check-in & David who, working with Edoardo as a team, took my luggage to my room, showed me how to operate all the room gadgets & made sure I always had (free) bottled water in my room. David also kept the lobby tidy &, if that was not enough, David serves as the bartender & maintains the free distilled water jug & clean glasses for guests. Every member of the staff that interact with guests spoke English well. The room was massive; looked & felt brand new. Spectacular firm bed & high quality bedding & towels, terry cloth cotton robes, slippers, large rain shower (no tub) with excellent water pressure, two huge TV’s with programming in many languages, high-end toiletries, couch & lounge chairs, writing desk, two a/c controls (for bedroom & sitting room), and a wide Juliette balcony overlooking the City Hall & main square in Aliados. Yes, spoil yourself & reserve a suite (slightly more than a regular room but worth it). Many restaurants & cafes nearby; walking tours assemble on the square across from the hotel. I had a hamburger & fries one night at the hotel restaurant. The burger was large but excessively salty (I left half). In addition, the burger was not cooked through. The hotel is in the center of the old city, and the navigation is also very easy to miss in a path, there is valet parking service at the door, parking fee 15 euros per day. The room was unexpectedly small, but the rooftop bar could add points. Good service. The hotel is surrounded by Portuguese specialty small restaurants, very convenient.
