Romantic Hotels in Kangding

Our trip to Tagong, Western Sichuan, found its warmest surprise in the Kangding Tagong Pokhara Smart Manor. Located in Tagong Town, the manor perfectly blends the relaxed, rustic charm of the ******* plateau with a tastefully tidy courtyard and rooms. Our deluxe sunroom was exceptionally bright, offering breathtaking views of the clear highland sky and distant mountains right from the window. Our three-day stay was incredibly comfortable and soothing, completely melting away the fatigue of our long road trip. What truly touched us was the genuine warmth and hospitality. The owner and front desk staff were incredibly friendly and approachable, making us feel right at home. Every evening, they thoughtfully delivered warm milk, chasing away the chill of the highland nights. On one occasion, returning to the manor after being caught in the rain, the owner immediately brought us freshly brewed ginger tea, its warmth spreading from our tongues throughout our bodies. These thoughtful details, more than any luxurious amenities, truly resonated with us. This is far more than just a place to stay; it's a welcoming haven on our Western Sichuan journey. Should I ever return to Tagong, I will undoubtedly stay here again, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to every traveler venturing into this beautiful wilderness.

The hotel's decor is very ******* style, exquisite and beautiful. The room even has Rhodiola rosea tea that you can brew, and there's a diffused oxygen concentrator. The breakfast selection is also very generous. Furthermore, our butler, Ms. Si Qu, was very attentive and welcoming, proactively helping us with our luggage and providing all the necessary information. She's also very pretty. The other hotel staff greeted us warmly every morning. Highly recommended!

The scenery is decent, but the poor hardware maintenance and inadequate services severely detract from the experience, making it poor value for money. First, the pros: The location is very close to Tagong Grassland, with open surroundings, and some rooms offer direct views of the snow-capped mountains. The scenery is indeed beautiful. However, the drawbacks are fatal: 1. **Room View is a ”Blind Box”**: Not all rooms have a snow mountain view; some room types have obstructed views, only seeing the grassland. 2. **Disgusting Equipment Maintenance**: The room comes with a humidifier and an oxygen concentrator, which are thoughtful amenities for high-altitude areas. However, when I turned on the humidifier, I found its interior to be very dirty, clearly not cleaned for a long time. The oxygen concentrator was even worse; when I used it, water actually sprayed into my nose. Upon inquiry, I learned that a previous guest had refilled it themselves and the staff hadn't checked or cleaned it. Such a basic lack of maintenance is completely inconsistent with the room price. 3. **Oxygenation Effect is Useless**: The oxygen concentrator has a time limit for use, after which you have to pay extra to rent it. Moreover, the dispersed oxygen supply is not very effective, and I didn't feel much improvement when experiencing altitude sickness. 4. **Poor Value for Money in Dining**: The on-site restaurant is overpriced, and the taste and portion sizes are nothing special. In summary: If you're only looking for scenery, there are more options around. If you choose this place, be prepared for the possibility of ”winning the lottery” with the equipment.

The room and hotel design are nice, but there's no underfloor heating, and the air conditioning is noisy and doesn't heat properly. When I first called to request a quilt, I was told they didn't have any extra quilts... That's outrageous! This is the first time I've heard of a hotel without extra quilts. Although they did eventually deliver the quilt, I'm not sure why they initially said they didn't have any.

After comparing several hotels, I decided on Yunzhi Hotel, and it didn't disappoint. The room layout is simple and elegant, and everything is clean, especially the bedding which was spotless and soft. It was very quiet at night, so I wasn't disturbed at all. The front desk staff were responsive and polite. The location is also convenient. I'll definitely prioritize booking here again next time.

Everything was perfect! The hotel is very beautiful in a great location close to the main attraction and many restaurants (the hotel’s restaurant was also very good!). The staff is very kind and helpful with everything needed! She helped us to manage transportation and when I forgot something in the hotel she sent it to me. Highly recommended!!!

The room was genuinely spacious, and the double bed was impressively large – a great choice for those who appreciate ample space. The mattress comfort was only average, and the pillows were a bit of a letdown, being overly soft and fluffy and offering little to no neck support. Hotel service was excellent. Both the front desk staff and the housekeeping team were incredibly warm and accommodating. Extra requests, like additional toothbrushes or blankets, were promptly delivered. The housekeeping staff even helped put on the duvet cover for the extra blanket, a thoughtful gesture as some hotels expect guests to do this themselves. The room offered a nice mountain view from the window. However, small bugs were quite prevalent, which I found a bit unsettling. The stick-on window screen had started to peel off, leaving gaps and allowing insects in. The bathroom was also very spacious and featured a smart toilet. However, the hot water pressure in the shower was quite low, which wasn't very refreshing. A full set of disposable toiletries was provided. Breakfast, served until 9:30 AM, offered a decent variety, including bread, porridge, milk, fruit, and a mix of steamed and fried options. However, freshly cooked noodles or vermicelli were not available. The dining area wasn't very large, so it's best to avoid peak hours. Free and ample parking was available.

The hotel is located right next to National Highway 318, with extremely convenient transportation and a large parking lot, making it very convenient to drive to surrounding attractions. The surrounding scenery is picturesque and the facilities are complete. It is a good choice for both business trips and leisure vacations. The rooms are clean and comfortable. What's more worth mentioning is that there are many delicious foods around, so people can enjoy their stay while also feasting their mouths. First of all, I read reviews before booking that their home is on a slope... I found out after I went there... that slope is really steep, and it is two consecutive slopes. Cars with low displacement and manual transmission are really discouraged from leaving. However, this hotel has an independent parking lot, which is rare in Kangding, and the rooms are large. The two 1.35M beds are enough to sleep two adults. The service is also great, but in Xincheng, you have to walk 2 kilometers to the square.
