I stayed in this hostel for a total of 5 nights, with two breaks when I went on tours outside of Lanzhou. I have put in reviews earlier, so this is my final for the hostel that had begun to feel like Home. The hostel itself is very comfortable a stay: clean, comfortable wide bed with sliding door for privacy, nice seating areas... It is run by a family who take turns staying over so that there is 24 hour reception. All are friendly and kind, especially the father. The parents don't speak English but you can easily use a translation app; other guests will probably interact with you. The location: it is situated about a 5 minute walk to the Yellow River Tower, and a further 10 minute walk to the Lanzhou Old Street area where there is an amazing array of food options. Just outside the hostel is a Halal (Muslim-run) restaurant called (Ruhua 如华）which the hostel owners say have been in operation for 20 or 30 years. The hand-pulled (手抓) mutton that I had there was fantastic, even though I am typically not a mutton eater --- the taste is a delicate and balanced mix of light spices (I could taste a hint of ginger, for example) and saltiness. And the 八宝茶 is also excellent. A 7 minute walk to the right after exiting the hostel (past the above -mentioned restaurant) to the main road where many buses ply, you will find another good mix of local food options, especially in the morning. The hostel is conveniently located near the Lanzhou West railway station. There is a bus 136 that runs just outside the hostel and gets you to the railway station in 20 minutes. Hope this helps someone deciding on where to stay in Lanzhou, since there doesn't seem such a good range of hostels. The hotel is located in an area close to the walking street, shops, restaurants and entertainment venues, quite convenient and easy to find food. There are souvenir shops nearby. The room is smart, the bathroom is clean. The staff is quite attentive to foreign tourists, recommending local restaurants and giving directions. The staff can barely speak English, but using a translation app makes communication difficult.

Good service, super enthusiastic boss, good location, good environment

It was my first business trip to Lanzhou and I had a very good experience at this hotel. The location is good. Downstairs is the Lanzhou Zhangye Road Commercial Street, diagonally across from the Dazhong Lane Xinguang Night Market, and about 200 meters ahead is the Zhongshan Bridge check-in spot by the Yellow River. The room is fully equipped with smart Xiaodu control throughout the house. The mattress is a good place for sleeping, the room is clean, and the service attitude is good. Overall, I am satisfied with the experience. I will stay at this hotel again when I go on a business trip to Lanzhou. It is convenient for eating, drinking and shopping nearby. I recommend it.

It is indeed a smart hotel. There is a machine for direct drinking water in the room. There are different temperature adjustment. It is very convenient to drink water and make tea. The curtain TV is connected to the small speaker. The TV is very large. It is super cool to see. Health is OK. I like the separation of dry and wet in the bathroom. It is the hotel in the old city. There is a bar next door, it will be a bit noisy at night, people with poor sleep quality should consider it

Every day after returning from a trip, the front desk would call me to check if my room card still worked. The excuse was: the system was unstable, and when it crashed, the data would be cleared, and I might need to re-authorize the room card. This continued for several days, and I got annoyed. I complained a few times, but the receptionist on the 18th was rude, acting like guests owed her money. If a hotel's operating system is unstable, you should investigate the cause and upgrade the system. Why bother calling guests every day to check if their room card still worked? If you can't even handle this, what kind of hotel are you running? Also, when I showered, water would overflow along the wall next to the shower, flowing past the two bedside tables and onto the curtained wall on the other side. This meant the overflow would permeate the entire room. After careful observation, I discovered there might be a problem with the hotel's drainage system, or perhaps the sealant on the bottom of the shower wasn't properly applied, causing the shower water to overflow and not drain away properly. All in all, it's a bit bizarre, so if you're planning to stay here, choose carefully.

This homestay is cost-effective and the rooms are clean and tidy. Although there is no air conditioning in all the rooms, it is still acceptable for short-term stays. Because I personally like this kind of home feeling, I feel it is very warm, just like returning to my own home, and living very comfortably. However, given the advice of some reviews, if you are looking for more facilities and comfort, a hotel might be a better choice. After all, there is nothing particularly amazing here, it is more of a simple and comfortable living experience. Because of the special date, I was unable to book a room the next day, which shows that this B&B is still very popular. If you like this kind of living and warm environment, you might as well give it a try.
