Shimaoliuliu6This resort is absolutely amazing! I personally tried it out! Although it's a bit far, the environment is fantastic, like a natural oxygen bar.
Transportation: If you're coming from the airport by taxi, it might be a bit far and remote. The driver might have trouble finding it or ask for extra money. You can add the hotel's WeChat and book an airport transfer in advance (a small cost for a big convenience).
Service: Incredibly good! The boss is a young guy who is very hands-on from the moment you arrive. He's very nice and chatty, and even told us how to bargain for seafood!
Food: Their chef's seafood! Unbeatable, so delicious!!!! And in the evenings, the restaurant has music (KTV), and the boss sings 🎤 – the atmosphere is great!
Cleanliness: I expected a lot of bugs (because it's in the mountains), but it was surprisingly clean, with no mosquitoes or insects at all!!!!! You won't get bitten. It's truly amazing!!!
Plus, their shampoo smells super good! Oh my goodness!
I'll be back next year! It's so comfortable! A place for complete joy and relaxation for both body and mind!!

Guest UserThe guesthouse was definitely worth my money and stay. The family room was comfortable and surprisingly spacious enough for five people. Upon entering the room, my first impression was how cozy and aesthetically pleasing it looked. The beds were comfortable and dust-free, while the bathroom and toilet were also clean. However, the room was not spacious enough to accommodate an extra bed, and we had to rearrange some of the furniture to make space for our luggage.
As for the common areas, there was a spacious communal dining and relaxation area where people could spend time with friends and family. It’s also nice of them to provide instant noodles for breakfast. It was convenient when we were in a hurry, as we could quickly prepare a meal before heading out. Another helpful facility was the laundry room upstairs. After our water activities, we were able to wash our bathing suits immediately and hang them up to dry.
The location was also very convenient, as we did not have to walk far to find food or explore the area. There were many nearby restaurants and cafes, souvenir shops, and the public jetty within walking distance.
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay even though it was only for two nights. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and convenient place to stay in Semporna.

Guest UserI forgot to take pictures of the hotel interior; it has both pros and cons.
1. My AirAsia flight was delayed, and I arrived at the hotel at 8:30 PM. The good thing was that the receptionist spoke fluent Chinese, and there was no deposit required. The hotel only has two floors and no elevator, but staff were always there to help with luggage, whether you were going up or down!
2. The family room I booked was very spacious, with a small balcony and plenty of clothes racks, making it very convenient to dry clothes. There were also two soft beanbag chairs, a large table with plenty of space, air conditioning, a safe, and all the necessary disposable amenities. The slippers weren't disposable, so I didn't use them.
3. They changed the disposable amenities daily. If you need housekeeping for a consecutive stay, you can turn on the light outside your door; otherwise, just turn on the ”Do Not Disturb” button, and they will bring the new amenities to your door. They are very meticulous in their cleaning! We always left our suitcases open when we went out, and put valuables in the safe. They put a security camera at the door before cleaning, then removed it afterward, which made us feel quite safe…
4. I was worried about noise at night, but there's a restaurant downstairs where many locals gather in the evenings, but it wasn't as noisy as I expected. Once the balcony door is closed, there's almost no problem. Regarding the issue of noisy car chases at night, I think there are some. If you stay in town, it's hard to avoid, but we stayed for three days, and only one day did we experience this problem, around 10 PM, with a few intermittent bursts of speed. Actually, after a day of sightseeing, we fell asleep almost immediately.

My stay at 'Fairy Tale Wonderland Resort' in Semporna completely exceeded my expectations. Let's start with transportation: the hotel offers a shuttle service that picks you up directly from the airport, which was a huge convenience. The driver was incredibly friendly and even gave us tips on where to exchange money and reliable dive shops.
The accommodation was fantastic. The room had wooden floors and a high ceiling, and it felt clean and dry. The bed was super soft, and the pillows weren't flat at all. The big sea turtle plushie on the bed was absolutely adorable. Both the fan and air conditioning were quiet at night, ensuring a very restful sleep. The courtyard felt like a small garden with coconut trees, flower walls, and colorful signs. It was incredibly relaxing to just sit on the woven hanging chair and zone out; every photo I took turned out beautifully.
The food deserves a special mention. For dinner, we ordered steamed crab, mantis shrimp, soy-sauce steamed fish, and a plate of water spinach. The freshness was undeniable, and the cooking was perfectly executed, bringing out the natural flavors of the seafood without being overly salty or greasy.
Overall, the hotel's attention to detail in service was excellent: convenient transfers, clean and comfortable rooms, and high-quality food. If you're looking for a relaxing holiday in Semporna, I highly recommend staying here.

Guest UserMy Semporna trip was full of pleasant surprises, and I absolutely have to rave about the overwater villa I stayed in! 😆
Before I left, I'd only booked a standard terraced room, but to my surprise, the owner upgraded us to a private standalone villa for free when we checked in! It worked out to only about 800 yuan a night for a private sea-view villa with its own terrace – what a steal! We were grinning from ear to ear the moment we stepped inside.
Once we actually settled in, we didn't even feel like going out to sightsee. In the mornings, we'd just pull up a small chair on the terrace, feel the sea breeze, do some fishing with our feet dangling in the cool water, and just relax. It was so comfortable doing absolutely nothing. In the evenings, we'd sit on the terrace and watch the sunset paint the entire sea a fiery orange. And waking up, we'd see the sunrise emerge from the horizon right from our room. There's also a huge bathtub where you can soak and gaze at the sea – now *that's* a vacation!
I have to give a special shout-out to the butler here; they were incredibly thoughtful. When we wanted to go sea fishing, they had bait ready for us in advance. When we wanted to go into town for food and shopping, we just mentioned it and a car was arranged to pick us up very quickly, no delays at all. Plus, when you look down from the overwater villa, you can clearly see all sorts of small fish swimming around in the sea. In the mornings, we even saw little crabs 'strolling' on our terrace. Feeding the fish breadcrumbs and just leisurely passing the morning was incredibly relaxing.
This is absolutely the most satisfying overwater villa I've ever stayed in, hands down. If you're coming to Semporna, you really should consider this place! 👍

Fengzhongfeixiangdexiaoyaojing897The room was spacious and comfortable. The owner was a lovely and friendly young lady who spoke fluent Chinese. There were several small supermarkets nearby, making things very convenient. The ice cream was also delicious and inexpensive. If you're interested, you should definitely check it out!

I had a fantastic stay at Sunshine in Semporna! This hotel is brand new and impeccably clean, which made my stay incredibly comfortable. Most importantly, they have a elevator. The staff were exceptionally helpful and went above and beyond—when I requested a change from my booked room (without a balcony), they kindly upgraded me without any hassle.
While the hotel isn’t right by the sea or jetty pier, it’s just a short 10-minute walk away, which I found very manageable. As a solo traveler, safety was a top priority, and I felt completely secure walking around the area, even at 9 PM. The location is a huge plus—it’s in the heart of Semporna, surrounded by gold shops and plenty of eateries serving delicious local food. I actually preferred this spot over the pier area, which can feel crowded and has many homeless children asking for money or food.
The only minor downsides were that the hot water wasn’t quite hot enough and there was some barking from dogs at night. However, the dogs were very friendly and didn’t bother me for food, so it wasn’t a big issue.
Overall, Sunshine Bouquet Hotel is a gem for solo travelers or anyone looking for a clean, safe, and convenient stay in Semporna. Highly recommend!

Anonymous UserStayed here for less than 24 hours since our night flight arrived Tawau 8.30pm, and then airport transfer to Semporna took about 1.5 hours. Called the hotel earlier informing that we will be arriving late, and there are still receptionist waiting for us to check in. They even helped us bring our bags to the room. Only few things lacking - the aircond is not too cold, and then the water shower is too hot 🫠 we are too tired to complaint so we just accept it. Location wise very very strategic. Very near to jetty and got watsons, guardian, 7e, mart, halal restaurant.

Really basic hotel. All of the other reviews are correct about the state of it but the location is perfect!!! So close to the best restaurant area and by the water. I would highly recommend staying in this area of semporna. Just know that you're getting a basic room.

ShanyouzhenI chose this hotel for a one-night stay before heading to the overwater bungalow the next day. Although the room facilities were a bit old, they were very clean. There's a convenience store right downstairs, and it's very close to the pier. The sea breeze was a bit loud at night, but the breakfast was excellent and plentiful.
