Perfect
GGuest UserThe wind across the Sangke Grasslands holds the gentle warmth of Yunshang Creek House.
The textures of wabi-sabi flow across the wood and stone, and sunlight streams across the teacup, bringing the tranquil beauty of the grasslands into the house.
The service is unobtrusive, the tea brewing around the stove just enough to dispel the evening chill, and the gentle reminder of sunrise time holds a thoughtful, well-placed thought.
That night, the hot pot, simmering with the freshness of lamb, mingled with the laughter of the sisters. Outside the window, dusk deepened, and within the pot, the hustle and bustle of the human world rose.
It turns out that beauty never needs words.
GGuest UserThe homestay is on the edge of the grassland (accurate navigation), with grassland and rolling mountains at the door. There are flocks of sheep passing by the camp, and in the distance, groups of yaks and horses are walking under the blue sky and white clouds. Sitting on the wooden terrace, drinking hot milk tea and watching the sheep and cattle, it seems like being in an idyllic world like an oil painting. The most surprising thing is that on a clear night, the Milky Way crosses the sky like a bright ribbon. It is the first time I see the Milky Way with my naked eyes! This starry sky feast that is hard to find in the city is unforgettable.
Although it is a grassland tent camp, the facilities are far beyond expectations: 24-hour constant temperature hot water, dry and wet separation bathroom, and electric heaters that continue to heat all night completely dispel the chill of the plateau. The ******* staff sisters smiled very brightly and sincerely. They not only helped us move our luggage to the entrance of the tent, but also sent extra mineral water and helped us contact the surrounding herdsmen to help us experience horseback riding. Compared with regular hotels, this place has both the wildness close to nature and comfort, which is especially suitable for travelers who want to experience the grassland in depth but are unwilling to compromise on the quality of accommodation.
GGuest UserMy trip to Gannan ended, and I've been home for two days now. I have to add this belated review today.
Location and Natural Beauty
The hotel is nestled on the edge of the Sangke Grassland, offering vast grassland scenery as soon as you step out the door. On our check-in day, the welcoming owner offered to take us for a walk by a nearby stream. Verdant grass lay beneath our feet, dotted with wildflowers, the stream gurgled, and in the distance, cattle and sheep strolled leisurely. It felt like stepping into an untouched natural landscape. This immersive experience, detached from the hustle and bustle of life, was one of the greatest surprises of the trip.
Service is in the Details
What touched us most was the owner's thoughtfulness. Due to our tight schedule the next day, we planned to depart at 7:30 AM. We had planned to skip breakfast, but the owner specifically inquired about our departure time the night before and prepared a hot breakfast the next morning. Bread, milk tea, and side dishes...the simple fare held the most simple warmth, making us feel like family on a cool morning. This selfless enthusiasm far exceeds expectations of ”hotel service.”
Summary
This isn't just a hotel offering accommodations; it's a warm, grassland inn. If you're looking for a place on the Sangke Grasslands where you can experience local hospitality, this is definitely worth choosing. The owner's sincerity and the beautiful grassland scenery will be the most unforgettable moments of your trip.
GGuest UserThis hotel is located in a town near Sangke Grassland. The rooms are standard and large, the service is friendly, and the location is good. There are several restaurants downstairs, making it convenient for dining. They provided extra pillows for the children, thank you!
HHaloumaliaoThe overall feeling is quite good. The first hotel I stayed in during my self-driving trip in Gannan is located in the area where Labrang Monastery is located, about three kilometers away. It is not on the main street, and next door is a very popular ******* restaurant. The store owner was very welcoming. In the morning, I had a ******* breakfast on the terrace of the ******* house on the second floor, which was quite pleasant. The boss was very enthusiastic and willing to give various suggestions about the trip. He told us about the observation deck of Labrang Monastery.
SShuizhonganyueWe were upgraded when we checked in, but when we took a shower, we found that the bathroom was leaking into the bedroom. The front desk that night was very responsible and saw that there was no solution, so they arranged the best suite for us and helped us carry our luggage. I would like to especially praise the staff on duty that night 👩💼
GGuest UserIncredible stay at the Xicheng Inn. The hotel is very cozy with fascinating decor. I loved spending time in the third-floor library, filled with cultural artifacts, games, and books – you'll never get bored! The hospitality from the hotel staff is also unmatched. I stayed alone but never felt lonely. They take guests on walks around the city to discover ******* culture. I recommend staying here not only for the comfort of the hotel but also for the wonderfully warm atmosphere.
GGuest UserThe dorm was very clean and equipped with a kettle, which was nice. I was the only guest during my stay. As mentioned in the other reviews, the dorm is located in the basement and you have to walk a bit to reach the toilet.
The „shower“ is located across the front desk. It’s a small room where the hotel is storing their cleaning equipment, so showering there is a quite dirty and unpleasant experience. As there are so many dorms in the basement (I would guess 50+ beds), I wonder how they would handle the situation if the hotel is fully booked.
Overall I would recommend staying there for one night, if you are not picky.
JJingshengjingseThe last stop of our Gannan trip was also the one that left the worst impression on us. When we first arrived at the hotel, we thought the service was ok. They helped us carry our luggage to the room, but the following experience greatly reduced our experience. When we arrived at the wooden house, someone came to let us ride horses. Because we were in the accommodation area, we thought it was a hotel, so we asked the price of 100 yuan for half an hour of riding in a big circle. There were 6 people riding horses, but we didn't know that they came back in less than 10 minutes. We didn't know where the person who agreed with us went, and we were threatened by the horseman. We found the hotel to help us deal with it, but we could only suffer a loss of 20 yuan to keep things quiet. We were all Tibetans and we were out again. This was the only depressing part of this trip. The room was generally ok. The upper bunk is not easy to climb up, the bathroom smells quite bad, there is nothing to eat around, it is very far, very far, very far from the county town and it is not convenient (Important things should be said three times). In fact, I don’t recommend staying here. Secondly, the hotel breakfast is too late. Since it is a homestay, it should have a sense of service, not catering to your time. The meal is not served until 8:30, which affects the departure. I saw several rooms were pushed with luggage by themselves at 8 o'clock. There was no one at the front desk in the morning of the second phase, so you don’t need to collect the deposit. In the morning, you have to wait for the front desk to refund the deposit, and you have to pull the luggage yourself. I shouted in the group for a long time to drive a tricycle to tow the luggage. In the end, I waited for half an hour before two people came and there was still no car, so the experience here is really bad, and the room rate is still the most expensive
NNikoas4The hotel is extremely close to the monastery. Some people at the reception speak english and they can book you a private tour to visit the grasslands and the monasteries outside the city that otherwise would be unreacheables for 400rmb per vehicle. The room is big and the beds are warm.
