New Hotels in Xining

"This was the last stop on our Northwest trip, and we booked a family room. When checking in, I asked if we could get an upgrade, but the front desk staff said no. Since we were staying two nights, I then asked if breakfast could be included, but the front desk again flatly refused. Honestly, it's not a big deal if breakfast isn't included; I can afford a breakfast that costs a few dozen yuan. But that cold, formulaic service attitude was really off-putting. Well, after apparently offending the front desk, I was assigned a 'great' room where the shower drain was blocked, causing water to pool up to my ankles (I have pictures to prove it). It was already past 10 PM, and I didn't want to bother the staff, so I just figured I'd ask them to send someone to fix it tomorrow. But then, after my shower, the air conditioner stopped cooling, and it was very late by the time it started working again. What was even more frustrating happened the next morning: around 8 AM, the cleaning lady knocked on our door, asking us to put out our trash for her to take. Seriously? This was the only day of our entire trip we could sleep in, and it was completely ruined. I was so frustrated. To be fair, besides that one front desk staff member, the other service staff were quite nice, and they even gave my child a souvenir when we checked out. But overall, this stay was absolutely terrible."

"This hotel is newly opened with a fantastic location. The receptionist was very helpful and upgraded us to a room with a window for free. The room was fully equipped, including a 100-inch movie screen. It was spotlessly clean, with fresh linens for each guest. The bedding was very comfortable, and the hotel provided disposable linens and towels. The soundproofing was excellent, ensuring a good night's sleep. There's free parking, and the surrounding area is convenient for dining and shopping. A bus stop is right outside. I highly recommend this hotel."

"The hotel's location is great, and they have a free parking lot. The front desk staff, particularly a young lady who went by 'Serta Mattress' (or maybe that was her name, it's a bit unclear!), was incredibly friendly and enthusiastic. She showed me the rooms, helped me compare prices, and even upgraded my room type. She also recommended some night markets. The breakfast was very good too, so I decided to extend my stay!"

"The hotel has a great location, with underground parking available. It's within walking distance of the pedestrian street and the Qinghai Provincial Museum. There are plenty of restaurants nearby, as well as a supermarket. The downside is that the bathroom light, exhaust fan, and a night light are all linked. So, when you go to the bathroom at night, everything turns on and gets incredibly noisy, which disturbs anyone sleeping in the bedroom. During the day, the same thing happens – the exhaust fan even turns on just from walking past the bathroom. Smart technology is great, but if the logic is flawed, it's worse than simple manual controls. It also seemed like the air conditioning wasn't working, so we had to open the window to cool down, but being near a school, it could get noisy at times."

"On this business trip to Xining, I stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn Xining Chengdong the entire time, and my overall experience was fantastic. I have to especially commend Julie at the front desk; her meticulous service made me feel incredibly welcome. The hotel is located on Bayi East Road in Chengdong District, right next to Wuyue Plaza, making dining and shopping very convenient. It's also not far from the highway entrance and Xining Station, which is great for both driving and public transport. As a newly opened hotel, the lobby design is elegant, and the room amenities are brand new and complete. The floor-to-ceiling windows offer a wide view, and the room was spotlessly clean. The 24-hour gym and self-service laundry facilities are well-equipped, and the breakfast buffet offers a rich variety, including local Qinghai specialties like yak yogurt and甜醅 (sweet fermented oats). I arrived feeling exhausted in the evening after a long journey. Julie greeted me with a constant smile and efficiently handled the check-in process. Seeing my heavy luggage, she proactively offered to help carry it and patiently explained the room facilities, Wi-Fi password, laundry room, and breakfast times. When I casually asked about self-driving routes to Qinghai Lake and local food spots, she patiently outlined an itinerary, even recommending niche attractions and reminding me about precautions for high-altitude travel. When my room card stopped working, I contacted the front desk and Julie came to resolve the issue within minutes, without any pretense. Her service was professional yet down-to-earth throughout, without any rigid formalities; she genuinely thought about the guests. While good hardware is a hotel's foundation, warm service is what truly adds value. Thanks to Julie's thoughtful service, my travel fatigue disappeared. I'll definitely choose this hotel again on my next visit to Xining, and I highly recommend it to everyone!"

"This hotel is brand new, having just opened. There was a slight new-renovation smell in the room upon entry, but the facilities and cleanliness were excellent. There's a night market nearby, which is very convenient. I deducted one star because of the front desk. Before arriving, I called to ask about parking, and they said there were no spots available downstairs at the hotel. When I asked where else I could park nearby, they simply told me to come and find a spot myself. While technically not wrong, it felt like the front desk was lacking something in their service."
