"After comparing a few hotels, I still decided to go with Sofitel! And I'm so glad I did, it was a truly nice experience. Firstly, the hotel has a fantastic design; it doesn't feel old or dated at all, and the facilities are impeccably maintained, definitely five-star standard. Secondly, the billiard and ping-pong rooms are a real highlight! Thirdly, the service was incredibly thoughtful. It just so happened to be my birthday during my stay, and my butler, Xiao Qi, thoughtfully delivered a birthday cake – I was truly touched!"

"Check-in: The system was sluggish, and the front desk claimed the internet was down again. Room: We booked for two adults and one child, but the pillows weren't adequately provided. The mini-fridge price list for drinks was on the minibar, but the mini-fridge was empty, so what's the point of the price list? Bathroom: The liquid toiletries were of poor quality, yet they still branded them with the Sanyu logo. The hairdryer was a terrible choice. Breakfast: A complete disaster! No one to seat guests, it was chaotic, and despite many staff members, they were all just milling around with extremely low efficiency. Breakfast hours were 7:00-10:00, and we went at 8:30. The food quality was poor, and the kitchen's on-site management was terrible. I asked for an omelet, and they flat-out said no, only fried eggs, with a firm and take-it-or-leave-it attitude! I was shocked. How did Trip.com select this hotel? How do they supervise and evaluate it? The milk quality was poor, there was no freshly squeezed juice, the coffee was bad, the desserts and bread had no variety and poor quality, and the yogurt wasn't refrigerated nor was it on ice… Complaint Handling: I tried to find the F&B director at the restaurant, but it was the weekend, and he was off. No one in charge was willing to come out. I called Trip.com, who handled it professionally, and then I received a call back from a lobby manager who was clueless. I requested to speak with the hotel's duty manager, and the person who called back was a man responsible for the kitchen, which was fitting. He immediately asked how I wanted to resolve it, implying he wasn't really concerned. I listed out all the issues one by one, and he replied, 'Minor oversight.' Nothing was resolved. Additional points: 1) Unused 'clean' linens and bathrobes were stored in the laundry cart. 2) When checking out at 11:35, there was no one at the front desk, only two concierges, who said everyone had gone for lunch. Excellent management! 👍"

"I compared several hotels around the airport. Some were overpriced with exorbitant rates, while others were in very remote areas with limited dining and amenities, and I couldn't understand how they justified such high prices. Ultimately, I chose this genuine 5-diamond gem, which offers incredible value for money. It's only a 7-minute drive to the airport and provides a free shuttle service, which was a huge convenience. The hotel's facilities are comprehensive, including a gym and a self-service laundry room. This was particularly helpful for a long trip like the Qinghai-Gansu Grand Loop, allowing me to do laundry and work out. Plus, the surrounding waterscape environment is excellent. The service from all staff members was impressive. The front desk receptionists were gentle and patient, and check-in was very fast. Any requests for room service were promptly handled, making me feel comfortable and at ease throughout my stay. The à la carte restaurant on the second floor offers outstanding value; the dishes are reasonably priced and genuinely delicious. I could easily enjoy a full meal without leaving the hotel. The biggest surprise was the breakfast, which was definitely the closest to mainland Chinese tastes I encountered on the entire Qinghai-Gansu Grand Loop, with a wide variety of options that were comforting and satisfying. Overall, this hotel completely outperforms the overpriced hotels near the airport. It's perfect whether you're looking for a layover spot or a business stay. Full five-star rating, I highly recommend choosing this hotel if you're in the area."

"The hotel's location is excellent, with a lively and convenient area nearby. The room was very clean and offered a view of distant mountains and the city skyline. The front desk staff, especially the lady at the city view desk, was very enthusiastic and upgraded our room, and even upgraded breakfast for our child."

"This hotel is in its own building, which is quite rare for a provincial capital city (many hotels share buildings with other companies or hotels). It also has its own dedicated parking lot. The surrounding area is very bustling, making it convenient for shopping, dining, and taking a stroll. Check-in at the front desk was quick, and they proactively asked about my car and driving situation. The room was clean and comfortable, with modern and functional facilities. The breakfast was incredibly rich, offering both Chinese and Western options. After traveling for over two months, I finally got to enjoy a breakfast with bacon and buttered bread. I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Xining."

"When I first arrived in Xining, the hotel was fully booked, so I couldn't check in. After visiting Qinghai Lake and Chaka Salt Lake, I returned to the city and was finally able to get a room this time. The guest rooms are clean and comfortable, and the service is attentive and thoughtful. This hotel is conveniently located at the airport shuttle bus stop, offering excellent transportation. It's also next to Wanda Plaza, which means plenty of shopping and dining options, making life very convenient. The high-floor rooms offer a fantastic view; the city scenery is expansive during the day, and the night view is beautiful, making it perfect for resting and recharging after a trip. I will definitely prioritize staying at this hotel again on my next visit to Xining."

"The Silver Dragon Hotel has been our go-to hotel for family visits for the past few years. Despite being a bit older, its facilities and service have consistently been excellent, which is why we've always been very satisfied with our stays. However, there was one significant issue with room 810 during our recent stay! The shower in this room is incredibly small. While it's fine that it doesn't have a separate tub and shower like other rooms, the showerhead points directly at the door, the drain isn't deep enough, and the threshold isn't high enough. This means that if you use too much water, it overflows, flooding the entire bathroom after just one person showers. We had to use a large number of towels to soak up the water, which is a serious slipping hazard. We truly hope this issue can be properly addressed by our next visit. After all, this is a hotel our entire family loves, and we hope it continues to improve!"

"The hotel is clean, location is great to the nearby supermarket, shopping malls and the wildlife park. Many restaurants around. It would be great if there's dryer attached with washing machine. Breakfast is great, blended with both western and Chinese selections. I came back to stay with Sebel after my previous stay because of the friendly and informative stuffs who have helped me with the luggages and check in. However, why I rated the service with lower point because after I came back to stay for 2 consecutive nights, we have encountered different stuffs that gave totally opposite vibes, which were arrogant and no greetings, no smile."

"My stay at Qinghai Kaiyuan Grand Hotel in Xining completely exceeded my expectations. Every moment, from check-in to check-out, was incredibly comfortable and pleasant. I absolutely have to sing its praises! First off, the service was exceptionally warm and attentive, making the entire experience fantastic. As soon as I arrived, a doorman proactively helped me with my luggage and directed me to the Sky Lobby on the 21st floor. Check-in was super efficient, and they even thoughtfully recognized my member status and upgraded my room for free, along with complimentary fresh welcome fruit. The 24-hour front desk was always responsive to my needs; whether I needed directions or extra items, they were quick to assist. The staff were friendly and professional in every detail, adding a touch of warmth to my trip. Secondly, the facilities were comprehensive and high-end, ensuring a very comfortable stay. The design of the Sky Lobby was simply stunning, blending Chinese style with panoramic views. In the evening, I even caught a breathtaking sunset – perfect for photos! My room was spacious and bright, with a well-designed layout covering over 50 square meters. It featured a soft sofa, a large desk, and even a humidifier to combat the dry climate in the Northwest, which was a very thoughtful touch. The guest rooms were fully intelligent, with features like sensor lighting and electric blackout curtains adding a futuristic feel. The bathroom had a separate wet and dry area and a bathtub, and the toiletries were high-quality. The King Koil mattress provided an amazing sleep experience. The hotel also boasts a free gym, a table tennis room, a book bar, and a tea room – perfect for either exercise and relaxation or quiet reading. The amenities truly cater to various needs. What truly surprised me was the breakfast – it was abundant and unique. Served at the buffet restaurant on the 5th floor, it covered everything from Chinese and Western to Halal cuisine, with an incredibly wide variety. There was freshly prepared Lanzhou beef noodles, authentic Halal 'Sazi Mahua' (fried dough twists), and other local specialties, along with hot dishes, cold dishes, congee, bread, seasonal fruits, and excellent freshly ground coffee and squeezed juices. I particularly recommend the hotel's yogurt; its rich and creamy texture was delicious with grains or fruit. The dining area was spacious and clean, with plenty of seating, so there was no need to wait in line – a perfect start to an energetic day. Additionally, the hotel's location is superb. It's right next to Xining Railway Station, just a few minutes' walk away. Within a 1-kilometer radius, there's a night market, large shopping malls, and the distinctive Mojia Street pedestrian area. It's also close to the Dongguan Great Mosque and the Huangshui River, making it incredibly convenient for getting around and finding food. The free public parking also eased any concerns for those traveling by car. It offers incredible value for money. In summary, Xining Qinghai Kaiyuan Grand Hotel excelled in every aspect, including service, facilities, and dining. It's perfectly suited for both business trips and leisure travel. I will definitely choose this hotel again next time I'm in Xining and highly recommend it to everyone!"

"This is an older hotel, but it's clean and well-maintained. The staff we encountered were all very friendly and helpful. They even upgraded our room, so we had a lovely view of Nanshan Mountain. The hotel's location is super convenient for getting around, and nearby Jiaxiaolane offers plenty of food and shopping options. Definitely recommend for a trip to Xining!"
