"Beautiful hotel with wonderful service. The onsens were well cared for and we had them to ourselves. The views of the mountains and river from the onsen were spectacular. The food was great and transitional to Japan. We loved our the stay in the traditional Ryokan. Probably our best stay of the trip."

"I loved my stay here at Kamikochi Alpen Hotel! The dinner and breakfast served were delicious. As we stayed for 2 nights, we got to enjoy 4 different meals. The onsen was decent sized, a nice retreat after a long day of walking. If you are taking a bus to Kamikochi Bus Terminal, the hotel is a ~10min walk away. You will need to cross the Kappabashi bridge. I will definitely book this hotel again if I come back to Kamikochi!"

"Excellent hotel, super clean. With nice river and Mountain Views. Bear bells and walking sticks and other equipment which can be borrowed during the stay. Delicious breakfast and dinner, suitable for some kind of celebration. Best to book a taxi to/from bus terminal after 3.30pm or before early morning otherwise will need to tug your luggage for a 20 mins walk, even the walk from imperial hotel bus stop is also a distance 15 minutes walk."

"I enjoyed my stay in this hotel . The room is a traditional Japanese tatami room, very spacious for 2 persons with a balcony facing the river and the mountain. Room is just as shown in the photos. The front office staff are very helpful and friendly. They do speak abit of English. Breakfast and dinner were included . Dinner was multi course Japanese meal using seasonal produce . Do advise the hotel a few days in advance if you have any food preferences as they will try to accommodate. Meals very lovely presented . I stayed here 2 nights and dinner menu was different for each night . Hotel is about 20 to 25 min walk from the bus terminal. Best to pack a hand carry bag instead of a trolley bag as certain part of the trail to the hotel is unpaved and muddy after rain . Or check with the hotel for luggage delivery service Hotel also has a 24 hrs indoor and outdoor onsen ! Spacious and well maintained."

"Really great for solo travellors from tokyo. U can shuttle bus from Matsumoto which is a train away from shinjuku station at 2.45pm (easy reservation over email). There is shuttle bus as well to kamikochi at 8am and 9am (reserve at hotel). The 8am bus will be sufficient time to explore the major sceneries at kamikochi if you walk fast and the hotel will bring your luggage to the shuttle bus if you reserve a seat for the 12.20pm bus from kamikochi bus terminal."

"I love it! This family-style hotel is very nice. The owner was very nice. There were no cars at the ski area, but he drove us back. The owner's mother cooks delicious food!"

"I really loved my time at Park Lodge Kamikochi, it was truly magical and I can’t believe our luck in finding this place. Location is great, very near to the bus terminal and starting point for many treks. The main areas and the rooms were simple, well-designed and very comfortable. Although note that there is no air conditioning in the room as the weather is already cool. The food was the best part, a delicious variety of offerings, including a live grill! My friends and I were amazed and felt like we got great value and experience out of this stay. The staff were mostly friendly, but we were once suspected of trespassing the premises. However, it was one-off and not a problem as they might experience non-guests entering. Overall, a fantastic experience that I highly recommend."

"The dinner was super delicious. The chef has won many awards. The hot spring is like a clear spring in a secret garden. It feels like a paradise. The room is a little simple but very warm. It is very comfortable to stay. Highly recommended!"

"Lovely Ryokan, close to the busy stop. Everything is clean and the staff is friendly and attentive. Spacious room and comfortable futon. The onsen baths are lovely, on the riverside for a great view of the valley, you can ”reserve” four of them for private use for a bit of time, just locking the door. Dinner was superb"

"A family owned hotel with Japanese room and natural hot spring onsen near Shin-Hotaka Ropway. There are indoor bathrooms and open-air bathroom with natural hot spring water. Good environmental open-air hot spring bath, the rooms are little bit run down but comfortable. He took me to Ropway station after checked-out."
