"Have a night stay at this hotel. Location is nearby Mojiko station. Could see the Blue Wing Moji Bridge. Room is clean and size is considering ok for a couple. Easy to find restaurants at the surrounding. Night view was great."
"I had a truly wonderful stay at VIA INN SHIMONOSEKI and would happily give it a well-deserved 5-star review. The hotel’s location is absolutely perfect—just a short walk from Shimonoseki Station, making it incredibly convenient for sightseeing, dining, and onward travel. Whether you’re exploring the Kanmon Straits or heading out for a day trip, everything feels effortlessly accessible. The room was spotlessly clean, thoughtfully designed, and very comfortable, especially by Japanese business hotel standards. The bed provided excellent support, ensuring a restful night’s sleep after a long day of travel. Despite being near the station, the room was quiet and peaceful. What truly stood out was the service. The staff were consistently polite, efficient, and welcoming, always ready to assist with a smile. Check-in and check-out were smooth and stress-free. Breakfast was another highlight, offering a good variety of Japanese and Western options, perfect for starting the day on a satisfying note. Overall, VIA INN SHIMONOSEKI offers exceptional value, comfort, and convenience. I would highly recommend it to both business and leisure travelers and would definitely stay here again on my next visit to Shimonoseki."
"The hotel is located really close to Shimonoseki station. The room is clean. The front desk staffs both night shift and morning shift are friendly. I arrived the hotel around 10PM so there weren’t many restaurants that still open at that hour. I had to walk a bit far for a convenient store. But I really enjoyed spending the night there!"
"Very close to the Shimonoseki cruise terminal, about a 7-minute walk from Shimonoseki Station, take the elevator over the overpass~ Dormy late-night ramen and sauna pool, with a view of the Kanmon Strait"
"Convenient,3 min walk to the JR station. International ferry terminal to Busan is also close. Friendly helpful staff, clean comfortable room.. Simple but good japanese breakfast. Good value. Recommended"

Great
GGuest UserIt was super convenient for my husband and I as we were taking a break in the middle of our journey from Osaka to Oita. Just a couple minutes walk from the train station. It is more spacious than most hotels in major cities. And it is also within walking distance to restaurants and major attractions in Kokura. And they also provide a self-service luggage storage. We will stay here again if we ever need to transit through Kokura.
GGuest UserAll of the workers at this hotel were very nice and kind. The hotel’s location is close to Kokura Station and very easy to walk. I found the room to be spacious and very comfortable for a night’s stay.
KKathy24I decided to stay at Rihga Royal Hotel Kokura for my last three nights in Japan before flying back to Manila via Fukuoka International Airport, and I’m so glad I did because the room was very spacious, the amenities were complete, and the breakfast was such a delight. The hotel is also connected to the Kokura Station via a roofed walkway, so the weather (rain or scorching heat) wouldn’t be a concern.
SShin-Woei FannThis hotel locates near by the Kokura train station makes it one of the most convenient hotel I have ever lived. Unfortunately I could only reserve a smoking room, but the smell was not too strong to clear out by some splash. I would suggest the manager to inform smoking customers not to smoke in the bathroom, in order to avoid the smoke on the shower curtain. And the services are pretty good provided by kind stuff with multiple language skills. There is even a snack and drink corner 24 hours on first floor. The only deficit of this hotel might be the sound proof of the top floor, 6th floor I lived. The sound could not penetrate through rooms, but there were multiple huge machines on the top of the room running through day and night and generated big noises. During the last night I lived, one of the noises was similar with the sound of unlocking the door, so I couldn' t sleep well because I felt like somebody was unlocking the door.
GGuest UserIt is our repeated stay at the hotel. We like larger room size and the excellent location which is surrounded by choice of food varieties, and proximty to the station.
GGuest UserLocation is walkable from the JR station, surrounding malls and tourist spots, while not being in the centre of it all, making it a quiet and comfortable stay. There are many buses nearby so taking the bus instead of train was a good option to have. Walking distance can also be reduced sometimes via taking the bus. At the same time, the airport bus is at the JR station, so it was very convenient. The hotel while a little dated, is well maintained with floors segregated by non-smoking and smoking. Luggage deposit before and after is also available and the staff are very helpful with that. The bedside console comes with an alarm clock and even a music player where ambience music can be played - it is a very nice touch to have!!
TThomas_ZacThe Hotel is located very close to the Wakamatsu Railway station. The area around the hotel is a very quiet area with few shops around. I arrived the hotel at around 2200 and by then all the shops around was closed. I managed to find a family mart near the station and for dinner i went to Sukiya which I understand is open till 3 AM. The staff was very courteous and the checking in process was seamless. The rooms were small and very similar to other Japanese hotel rooms. The bedding was clean and neat and the linens were nicely tucked in. Since the air conditioning units remote was in Japanese language , had bit of a trouble in getting the AC started. However this was immediately resolved by the staff at the front desk and the AC cooling was very good. The toilet was small and was similar to other Japanese hotels. The supplies in the toilet was nice and adequate. The Morning breakfast spread was nice with western and Japanese cuisine and the food quality and taste was very good. I will definitely recommend Route Inn to all business travelers travelling to Wakamatsu / Hibiki Nada Area
GGuest UserThanks to netizens for their comments and reminders. I will contribute a little bit. Because I got on the wrong expressway that night, I should have arrived at 10 o'clock on the left... I called him immediately to talk to him. It turns out that there is no need to go there at all. You can just check in by yourself using the door password and reservation number on the left 😂 It’s so convenient~ Check-out is also done by pressing the room pad 👍🏻👍🏻 The hotel is located across the street and has both GPS and 👌🏻 In addition, there are three parking spaces downstairs in the hotel, and there are many hourly rentals nearby. Shop D in Mojiko has to close early, but luckily there is a Lawson 5 minutes away🤪
GGuest UserIt is a relax place. No convenience store nearby. Suggest to buy food before driving there. The landscape is great. And the hot spring is cool. The food there is great too
