Chigusa Hotel

This was my first time experiencing a tatami room, and the sleeping arrangements were very comfortable. The location was excellent, and parking was convenient. Honestly, everything was great, except for one thing: I felt their hygiene wasn't handled very well, which is rare for Japan. The cups I used weren't properly cleaned before being re-wrapped and put back in place! Also, the blankets felt a bit old, and the air conditioning couldn't maintain a consistent temperature – it was either too cold or too hot!

This hotel is great for those traveling by car. It's about an 8-minute drive to the Kitakyushu Outlets. The area around the hotel is very quiet, so if you prefer a lively atmosphere, this might not be the best choice for you. The breakfast is mainly Japanese style, and there aren't many options. It costs about ¥125 per person, so I'd recommend eating breakfast elsewhere.

The location is fantastic, like a quiet guesthouse. It's clean and spacious, and they even have two owls, which is quite unique and interesting.

The hotel offers plenty of free parking, which is very convenient for guests traveling by car. In addition to the outdoor parking behind the hotel, there are also a few covered parking spaces available. The rooms in the annex are very spacious, with standard double beds – each bed is a double, so there's plenty of room. The rooms in the main building are a bit old-fashioned.
