Kita Kyushu Hotel Guide

Kitakyushu is the second largest city in Fukuoka Prefecture in western Japan. With a population of around one million people, the city has convenient links on the JR West Sanyo Shinkansen and JR Kyushu. In addition, the city has its own airport (KKJ), which makes the city accessible from major cities in Asia. Kitakyushu is also a port city which has ferry links to Shimonoseki, Osaka, and Tokyo, as well as Busan and Ulsan in South Korea.

Home to a variety of attractions, visitors to Kitakyushu may be interested in checking out the Space Camp and Space World, an amusement park perfect for family fun.

Kokura Castle, a castle built hundreds of years ago, is also located within the city. Although the castle was burned down during a war, it has been rebuilt and is open to visitors today. The castle is surrounded by a classical garden and an excellent space to spend an afternoon.

The Kyushu region of Japan experiences hot and humid summers, so visitors to Kitakyushu may want to check out Iwaya Beach to cool down. There, you can partake in water sports such as sailing and surfing. Due to the location of the beach in the western part of the city, the beach doesn’t often get crowded, making it a great place to relax. Hiraodai, another natural attraction, is worth a visit as well.

Whether you come to Kitakyushu for business or vacation, there are hotels available to accommodate all types of visitors. Hotels in Kitakyushu range from business hotels to youth hostels.
