This was our second time staying here, and we chose the ground-floor room with a private hot spring bath tub, which was super attractive and truly enjoyable. The room is well-organized and beautifully decorated, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere. The only downside was the air conditioner, which wasn’t quite strong enough during our stay. Overall, it’s a relaxing spot perfect for unwinding, and we’d definitely come back again! 🌿

This is purely a general account of the stay without any comments. Upon check-in, two young receptionists quickly checked our information, explained the facilities and surrounding area, and carefully reiterated the procedures for those not being accommodated after 10 PM. They then helped us with our luggage to our room. The only thing they didn't fully explain was where the dinner included on the booking website was, but since we planned to eat out anyway, it didn't bother us. Room 218 was a standard four-person room. Upon entering, there was a private indoor hot spring bath with a shower. The rest of the amenities were typical of three-star hotels in Hualien and Taitung, such as a bidet toilet. It's worth noting that these were quite new; the lights and electricity were readily available upon entering, and power was available regardless of whether a card was inserted. The room was clean, and the amenities seemed new. As is customary, the staff explained the facilities before saying goodbye and leaving the room. Our family came to Ruisui specifically to enjoy a hot spring bath. This hot spring is the traditional Ruisui Spring. The water temperature was just right, according to what people who regularly bathe in hot springs are used to. Because the water volume wasn't large, it took a while to fill the tub. The water temperature is supposedly just right when full, but I didn't find it hot enough. However, the temperature was perfect when I went out for a walk in the morning and then went back to the room for a second bath, though the water volume was still a bit of a letdown. In the evening, playing billiards, cards, and foosball with the kids was enough to pass the time. For those who weren't full after dinner, there were some reasonably priced items on the first floor, including instant noodles, drinks, and alcohol. I recommend having breakfast early. Upon entering, a friendly, mature man greeted us warmly and introduced the dining environment. After putting your breakfast voucher in the box, you find a seat yourself. Generally speaking, breakfast wasn't a typical hotel buffet, but it was quite substantial and met my standards. After breakfast, we rested briefly and then checked out. Overall, the accommodation experience was good. Incidentally, there are four cats outside the shop. They are clean and friendly, so if you love cats, dogs, or other furry friends, you can pet them.

I really enjoyed my stay on a weekday. Even though the facilities are showing their age, the overall experience was good. The room, bathroom, and hot tub were all very spacious, and the bed was comfortable. However, there were definitely too few power outlets.
Once upon a time, in a remote corner of Ruishui Township, there was a barren piece of land. No one knew that the ground they walked on was a hidden treasure, rich with natural hot springs and minerals. A young man, standing at the age of 30, decided to take a chance for his hometown and his youth. At a depth of 430 meters underground, he discovered an entirely new world.
This journey was a story of gradual accumulation and continuous transformation. Every step forward was meant to let Ruixiong’s guests truly feel warmth and a sense of home. Over the years, our friends who witnessed us tear down various structures and watched us grow, we are deeply grateful to you.
In May, our square public bath was retired, moving into history. Many were in disbelief, even thinking it was just an internet rumor. Thoughtful guests still called to ask and share their concerns. Next to retire was the semi-open-air hot spring bathhouse. We knew that many of our loyal friends came to Ruixiong just for this experience. On the last day of operation, November 30, 2022, seeing your expressions of nostalgia made us realize we must strive even harder. Thank you, dear friends; your support is our driving force. In two years, we will re-emerge with new elegance, so remember to come back and visit us!
Due to the color and transparency of the hot springs, there are often misunderstandings. When it first emerges from the earth, the spring water is clear and colorless. However, after a brief moment of oxidation, it transforms into a golden hue, known as the “Golden Spring.” This water, with its high mineral content, crystallizes easily (calcium carbonate being the main component), and the color deepens as the water temperature increases. With this unique nature, Ruixiong has upheld the use of the original spring water for the past 20 years.
This place was fantastic. After a long day of cycling I was in dire need of a hot bath. The hot spring water is pumped straight into each room. The staff were very friendly and helpful too.

Room was clean and tidy, with amenities in good condition. Had a great time visiting their garden after a scrumptious breakfast prepared by the host. An enjoyable stay🤗
The environment is very clean, messages are replied to promptly, it's close to the city center, there are many restaurants nearby, and it's also very close to the train station—just a short walk away. It's very quiet at night.
The service, food, and scenery were unforgettable. There's an outdoor swimming pool and public bath, but unfortunately, the bath requires advance reservations and there are small black mosquitoes. The rooms were quiet and spacious, but the bathroom door was a bit stiff; in winter, if two people want to shower consecutively at night, be aware that the hot water might not heat up in time. Breakfast was delicious, and the landlady was always very welcoming and attentive, even proactively asking if we needed help taking photos.

The room is bigger than the picture shown on the website. Good location, opposite the hotel has family mart,McDonald and KFC.. walk 3 mins and have breakfast shops. The hotel staff are very friendly.
This is a nice hotel. It is clean and welcoming. I did not try the food there. The seaview is not really worth as it is too far from the sea, but the rooms are a good size. The staff were friendly. Just make sure you message the staff 24 hours in advance to book a free transfer. They would not provide a same day service. Overall, a good hotel. About 3km from downtown. I did not mind walking, but taxis are cheap.
Updates: I had a great stay at Fullon Hotel Hualien. The room was spacious, comfortable, and has awesome view of the harbor. The location is ideal for me—close to the coast, at the start of the bike trail, and in a peaceful area. I loved being able to borrow a bike from the hotel, making it easy to explore the bike-friendly town. The staff was friendly and attentive. Even those who didn’t speak English used Google Translate to communicate, which I appreciated. The only downside was difficulty reaching the hotel before my arrival to confirm the station pick-up, which wasn’t sorted out and confirmed until the day before I arrived. Overall, a wonderful experience, and I highly recommend this hotel. Most likely will stay here again next time I'm in Hualien. Hopefully, I can reach them easier next time. ==================== 2025/01/13: Impossible to contact as a foreign visitor. I tried to send messages to the hotel via both email and LINE that were listed on their website since I don't live in TW. I tried to arrange for their pick up service from Hualien Station which is included with my stay. I have sent my inquiry for the details. I finally managed to get messages back one time via LINE after a day with a website that's not in English and a picture showing only a phone number for booking. At least the hotel didn't ask me to do international phone call and finally said I can request the booking with them via the LINE channel. So I sent the booking request with details. That was 3 days ago. And I have not received any message back or heard a peep from them. So I assume the service is still not booked. Not that the free ride matters since I should be able to get a cab easily, but the service, especially what's promise and the helpfulness of the staff, is quite underwhelming and on the side of not hospitable. For the same trip, I also had to reach out to Tango Hotel Taipei. They were very helpful with my inquiry and very fast. Hopefully the stay is nice. I'll come back to update my review then.
Quiet place. May be inaccessible but easy to get taxi. The breakfast choices are good, soybean is extremely awesome! Different from what we had back home in Singapore.

During my recent trip to Hualien, I had the unique opportunity to stay at the Peace Prison Cafe Inn Hostel, and it truly exceeded my expectations. As soon as I arrived, the prison theme instantly caught my attention. The rooms were designed to resemble prison cells, which added an intriguing and immersive element to my stay. One thing that stood out to me was the absence of a traditional reception desk. Instead, to gain entry, all guests need to do is call the contact number provided, which adds a touch of mystery to the experience. The lady working there was exceptionally helpful and patient, even taking the time to explain how to use the facilities in Chinese. Her assistance made my stay all the more enjoyable. As a solo traveler, I couldn't help but appreciate the eerie vibes that the place exudes, especially since I'm a fan of horror. Every night, I found myself immersed in an atmosphere that perfectly catered to my taste. It's not often that you come across a hostel that provides such a unique and thrilling ambiance. Cleanliness is always a priority for me, and I was pleased to find that Peace Prison Cafe Inn Hostel did not disappoint in this aspect. The rooms were well-maintained, ensuring a comfortable and pleasant stay. The convenient location of the hostel was also a major plus, making it easy for me to explore and enjoy everything that Hualien has to offer. In conclusion, if you're an adventurous traveler seeking a one-of-a-kind experience, I highly recommend checking out Peace Prison Cafe Inn Hostel. With its prison-themed rooms, helpful staff, eerie ambiance, and convenient location, it's an ideal choice for those looking to add an exciting twist to their trip. Trust me, you won't be disappointed!
It was absolutely fantastic! The host, David, is so kind and helpful in getting to know the island and answering all your questions. You can rent a scooter (including e-scooters, no license required) and explore the island. Everything was very clean and in excellent condition! I would love to come back here again.
