Outstanding
FFreelaxStayed one night. As it’s a pretty new hotel, the hotel room amenities are very new. We checked in late. Although it’s self check in, the staff is very helpful and very obliging. The room has got shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Personally, I quite fussy but I like their products. They also provide toothbrushes and toothpastes etc. They give 2 bottles of drinking water. They gave humidifier in each room. There is bath tub and standing shower. The hotel is located in the industry area but they are quite near to Hsinchu HSR. If I would travel to Hsinchu, I will stay again.

GGuest UserThe hotel rooms decor and bathrooms are a little dated, plus the mattress was very hard to sleep on. Also had someone knock on my door but tried to enter immediately without giving time to see if I was in the room which was a little strange. But clean, large space in the room, nice and quiet for sleeping. Great location to access restaurants.

GGuest UserThe rooms offer a variety of themes, especially the character-themed rooms designed for children, which are very appealing. The reception staff explained everything clearly, and the 안내 (information/guidance) was also very helpful. The environment is incredibly clean and tidy. The coin laundry is a convenient addition. There's a large kids' play area on the first basement floor that the children absolutely loved. The breakfast had a wide selection, was colorful, and delicious. The kids kept saying they wanted to stay again!

LLucasoPros: Breakfast is perfect, very good combination of western and *********. Location is perfect if you are visiting Jiao Tong University and Tsinghua University. Only a couple of bus stops. Very authentic local restaurants around. Employees are willing to help. Free soda in the fridge, decent gym. Good balcony view in certain rooms.
Cons: My room was clean but shower head was loose, although I was able to fix it myself, it made the bathroom a chaos. Shampoo and bodywash are not good considering it's a 4-star. Electronic bidet that cleans you but doesn't dry you out... public baths could be a good place to relax, but it only open 4-10pm, which is not friendly to travellers who only stay for the night.

GGuest UserClean room. They got machine to do self check in and check out. Parking space was available in the basement level. Location wise is not too far from central area if you drive, but have to walk very far. Breakfast was nice. They will also give you voucher to redeem cake or drink. Recommended.

MMona(모나)The Hotel Royal Hsinchu is a budget-friendly option, perfect for business travelers. While the hotel doesn't have its own parking lot, there are public parking options nearby, like the 'Tu Ji Cheng' parking and the Hsinchu City Public Parking, both just a 3-minute walk away, making transportation quite convenient. The hotel also provides breakfast vouchers for two nearby breakfast shops, which offer good quality and delicious food. In terms of location, it's very well-situated with amenities close by. It's only about 3 minutes from MacKay Memorial Hospital, and near Tsing Hua University, Kuang Fu High School, McDonald's, and New Park. This makes it incredibly convenient for both business trips and short stays. Overall, it's a practical and value-for-money accommodation choice.

GGuest UserFor the price, this place was very disappointing. First surprise was when checking in, you're told that you have to hand your keys in whenever you leave. I asked why, and they said they don't want people copying the keys, but it certainly doesn't make me feel my stuff is safe when I don't have the key. Why they couldn't use a key card system like every other hotel, I don't know, but they wouldn't have that problem if they did. In any case, the locks are terrible. Like the kind for locking a bathroom door, it'd probably open if you rattled hard enough!
The room itself clearly hasn't been redecorated in years, and looks tatty and everything is old and outdated. Worryingly, clearly there's a water leak from the bathroom and the corner of the wall on the bedroom side showed obvious water damage and looked damp. I think the room had been cleaned well enough but everything was so old, I didn't really want to touch anything. There was no quilt cover, just a sheet under it, so who knows how dirty that might have been. Likewise, there was a water cooler in the room rather than supplying bottled water, but I didn't feel confident trying it and bought bottled water from the shop instead.
I think they'd tried to make an effort to make the rooms colourful. That was a focus of the room pictures and also they have photos of different room styles downstairs in the breakfast room too, but it just looks a bit weird. In my room, it looks like they found a random outdoors picture on the internet and copy pasted some random English text over the top. So, there's a full wall sized advert for a foreign internet company. It just looks tacky on a bedroom wall!
The shower is over a bath, which is pointless as the bath is about 1m long and so nobody would fit in it comfortably anyway. Of course, there's no shower curtain so everything in the wet room gets soaked when you have a shower. Also, there's a sign by the toilet paper dispenser telling you not to put paper in the toilet, so I put my dirty paper in the bin provided. Was quite shocked that they don't clean the room daily as it wasn't a pleasant smell a day later.
The breakfast was very basic Chinese style. I've enjoyed the Chinese breakfast in every other hotel I've stayed here, but here it's basically only rice, tofu and pickled vegetables.
The location is good though. Close to the train station, and so near to all the sights as well.

GGuest UserThe location is within 10 minutes walk from Shinchiku Station and close to the center of the city on foot, which is convenient.
The breakfast was also buffet style, the number of items was abundant and the taste was delicious.
The room is clean, there is a dryer and a large refrigerator, and there are two waters.
Some rooms have no windows, so I requested it at check-in this time and it was vacant, so I changed it. There is also a large bathtub, which is helpful.
The front desk staff is very kind and can respond politely to questions, so it feels very good.
I personally recommend it.
