"Check-in was prompt, and I got the room I booked. However, I had to walk quite a distance to reach it because guests staying long-term (monthly rentals) occupy the closer rooms, meaning those staying for just one or two nights are assigned rooms further away. This isn't ideal for the elderly. The room itself was nice, but the wooden furniture and fittings were starting to show their age. The air conditioning worked well. In the bathroom, there was no screen or divider, so it was visible from the bedroom. The TV didn't work at all during my two-night stay as there was no signal. Breakfast was delicious, especially the homemade sausages. The restaurant had a beautiful view, as did the swimming pool, but the beach right in front of the hotel wasn't usable; you had to walk to the side of the property. There's no dedicated parking for cars; you have to park on the roadside, which is a hilly, winding road, so you need to be very careful."

"Lovely setting & staff... Breakfast was amazing and the evening meal was great with lots of choices and fab cocktails, just felt that the bar closed quite early but maybe because it was quiet? Our sea view room with pool was great and we didnt get chance to go to the main pools as only here a few days.. lovely night market within walking distance for live music, food, drink & a few bargains! Would recommend!"

"The staff were very pleasent and accommodating, the pools were nice and clean, unfortunately the beach in front of the hotel is terrible, there is no beach directly in front of the hotel and the rest of the bay is covered in oil and quite unkept."

"Excellent hotel. I stayed in a villa located on the seashore. The hotel itself is simply a fairy tale!!! You walk through the jungle, surrounded on both sides by bamboo and tropical forest))) Impressive!!! And in these tropics there are bungalows, really close to each other. You can hear everything, no silence or precariousness. Although living in a villa is like living in a shop window))) nearby there is an area with sun loungers, a bar, a restaurant and a massage area. This hotel greatly specializes in food. An excellent restaurant, large, with two parts - a terrace and on the beach. A huge selection of delicious food!!! The bartenders are superb, such great cocktails))) Overall, the service is excellent!!! A big thank you to the entire hotel team - reception, bartenders, waiters and service staff. You can feel the teamwork))) I want to come back!!!"

Basic services are prompt, and the resort is very quiet, making it perfect for a peaceful getaway. ⚠️ **Cons** Built into the hillside, the hotel is difficult to access by taxi. The winding mountain road leading up to the hotel is very steep. The location is remote with no nearby restaurants or supermarkets, making guests entirely reliant on the hotel's shuttle service. This isn't ideal for independent travelers. Being an older property, facility maintenance is mediocre. Be mindful when running hot water in the bathtub, as it comes from a water tank, and once it's empty, only cold water is available."

"We stayed here for 7 days at the end of January 2026. We received an upgrade to a beach bungalow with a direct view of the beach. What more could you ask for? The bungalow was fantastic and fully equipped, even featuring a rooftop terrace. However, we barely used the rooftop, as the balcony was more than sufficient. We only went to the terrace on Thursday evening to watch the weekly fireworks show from there. When you first turn off the main road, it can be a bit startling as the access road looks a bit run-down. But the resort itself is very clean. The large pool is lovely. The dining options seemed good; we only booked accommodation and had breakfast once. There was a huge selection, enough to satisfy anyone. There are also plenty of nearby dining choices both on the beach and along the main road. The location is at the far end of Lamai Beach, so it's not central. We found it to be a good spot. A 'Baht taxi' can take two people to Lamai center (about 2.5 km away) for 150 Baht. I slept very well. My wife was a bit bothered by the constant sound of the waves. The surf was quite strong during our stay, strong enough to knock you over quickly, so the ocean isn't very suitable for children. The pool would be a better option for them."

"We spent 6 nights in the Mekkala and had a great stay. It was very quiet, but very close to restaurants and the beach. Our room was on the ground floor and was very spacious and comfortable. Outside was a patio with pool access right there. Also there was a table and chairs out there along with an area to lounge on a very comfortable couch. Breakfast was available and cooked to order. Everywhere was clean and the staff were really nice. There was a place to hire a car or bike right next door and next door but 1 took in washing, had taxis and could arrange trips which we did. All in all we would definitely recommend this hotel and if we ever return to Samui would definately go back to the Mekkala."

"When planning my trip to Koh Samui, I wasn't sure which area to stay in, but ultimately, I chose this hotel based on reviews and its excellent value for money. It's a charming hotel with a resort-like atmosphere, and overall, I was very satisfied. My room was a loft style, with the bedroom on the second floor and a large bathtub on the first, complete with a stylish touch of floating petals. My only minor complaint would be the unstable water pressure and fluctuating temperature in the shower. While not a huge issue given the hot climate, it's something to be aware of if you're particular about that. The hotel is about 2-3km from the bustling downtown area, so it's nice and quiet at night."

"We went to this hotel after reading many good reviews, but our opinion turned out to be quite different. The hotel is very old. The bungalow rooms are cozy, and the bathroom has been renovated. There are many windows, but the blinds are incredibly inconvenient to open. Since the bungalows are by paths where people walk by, and everything is visible with the lights on, closing them in the evening and opening them in the morning was a real struggle! They barely moved! Eventually, we just stopped opening them altogether, despite the lush greenery and beautiful views. Due to the abundant greenery (not landscaped, just trees and bushes), it's very humid, and the area doesn't get much breeze. This makes sunbathing difficult by the pools that are above sea level. Moreover, these pools only have about 6 sun loungers, not all with umbrellas, and the wooden deck has gaps where anything that falls through is lost forever! All the sun loungers everywhere are old, with saggy mesh. The sea is shallow at both high and low tide, making it hard to swim, and even harder to get into the water. Waist-deep is the maximum, or you have to walk a very, very long way. There are a lot of small stones, leaves, and grass at the bottom. We brought coral shoes, but had no desire to swim. Due to the rocky sandbar, the water doesn't fully refresh during low tide, leading to stagnant water with grass on the bottom. Breakfast is ordinary; it seems like everything you need for breakfast is there! There are no shops or cafes nearby. The closest 7/11 is over a kilometer walk, but that's not a cafe. Personally, we won't be returning here, and we don't understand the people who write glowing reviews! Maybe they just like the name? Yes, it's an expensive hotel chain, and the price for this hotel was very low – we now understand why!!! Overall, we stayed 2 nights and then moved to Chaweng Noi. Everything is great here now!"
