citizenM Austin Downtown is deep in the heart of Texas' capital city. From here, take a stroll to the shores of Lady Bird Lake or wander along Congress Avenue. Austin City Limits Live is just a few blocks away – perfect for a night of live music before heading back for a margarita by the rooftop pool. With 344 rooms featuring XL king-size beds, blackout blinds, mood lighting and smart tech, you’ll rest easy – or party hard. Stay connected with free Wi-Fi, fuel up with 24/7 food and drinks at canteenM, and check in like a pro (aka contactless). There’s world-class art, a stylish living room to lounge in, and a fitness room when you need a stretch. All this, just minutes from Downtown Station, Shoal Beach and the Capitol Building. Oh, and we heard everything’s bigger in Texas – including citizenM.

"Booked a two-night stay at the Citizen M Hotel in Austin on Trip.com , the hotel is conveniently located in the core area of the city. The lobby is on the second floor, an open space that integrates reception hall, book bar, bar and co-office functions. It is full of design and full of artistic atmosphere. Check-in and check-out are self-service. The interior of the room is equipped with modern intelligent control system, and all the facilities in the room can be controlled by the tablet by the bed, with a modern and artistic atmosphere. The disadvantage is that the room is small; The hotel does not have a parking lot. I booked the opposite Indeed Tower basement for two nights for $75; I asked for the second bath towel towel. The hotel asked us to throw the one we wanted to change underground. It felt a little unhygienic. We still threw it in the shower."

"This hotel has so many intangibles. Being a boutique the experience feels very tailored and relaxing. I could spend all day at the pool but there is so much within walking distance to take advantage of. I'm so glad we had my wife's birthday here and had friends from out of town to join us. Because of the location, clean sophisticated style, and attention to detail I would classify it as a premiere downtown experience for those looking to soak up all that downtown Austin has to offer."

"I had a great trip . We enjoy the lake view . It was close to all the activities. Ladybird lake is only steps away. You can rent kayaks at a walking distance and get into the water at a walking distance. As well. We went for a fourth of july.We were able to get an affordable room with a lake view. And everybody was very friendly and helping. The only one complaint is that there is no fan in the restroom for when you go.It is the only thing that was odd to me.But the room is very beautiful.Clean, comfortable, and I would stay again. We stayed for the 4th of July and we got to enjoy the fireworks from the pool area and we had an amazing day. Thank you ."

"Loved the simplicity of this hotel. Perfect for an overnight stay and so easy to catch the shuttle to the airport.  The front check in person was professional. I got there 30 minutes before check in and they just checked me in. My room was super clean, and the temperature was perfect.  The bed was so comfortable and the bedding felt luxurious.  I loved how the desk was on wheels and could be moved so I could eat my dinner and watch TV!  And, breakfast was self/serve and easy. Coffee was good!  All in all, a very good experience,"

"Attempted to check in after we received the room ready alert via app but the front desk acted like they didn't have any rooms ready before 3pm though we eventually got in. The hotel itself it brand new, very nice, and very clean. Hotel looks to be in an area that is being built up with newer hotels. Later that night came back from dinner to find the front desk sitting in the lobby eating dinner, didn't look very professional and felt like you'd be bothering him to ask anything. I called down later that night to ask about the airport shuttle. Whoever answered was not very informative at all. Just said we have one, it runs 24 hours. I then had to ask well how often, do we just show up? All we were told was it runs every 30 minutes. Okay perfect, get downstairs for the 3:30a shuttle and we are told ”oh you had to sign up for this last night, the shuttle drive just left for his 30 minute break.” Why didn't we get told this when I called the desk the night before? We moved from a downtown hotel to the airport to be able to get shuttled. We ended up having to order an Uber. They offered to try calling sister hotels but there was no guarantee. I would probably try this hotel again but there are definitely some improvements that need to be made."

"The hotel was in the best location downtown. I was able to easily find street parking next to the hotel with the city meter. I stayed Sunday and parking was free but the main entrance was locked due to construction I believe. My only “complaint” is having to access the room via another hotel, but it was manageable. I was able to walk to popular spots like 6th street in minutes and walked to the Moody Center for a concert. There were many places to visit nearby with many attractions nearby. Overall great hotel!"

"There is nothing to recommend in Austin, except for the State Parliament Building and UT Austin, you can barely take pictures, and there are no attractions. The city may be a music bar, but I don't like to soak in the bar, so I can't enjoy this fun. The hotel is average, far worse than the domestic Hampton. The airport sunset is beautiful"

EVEN Hotel AUSTIN UPTOWN NEAR THE DOMAIN by IHG

I recently stayed at the EVEN Hotel Austin Downtown near the Domain, and it was a fantastic experience! The hotel’s location is incredibly convenient, with easy access to shops, restaurants, and major highways. Whether you're here for business or leisure, everything you need is just minutes away. The room was spacious, clean, and designed for comfort. The bed was exceptionally cozy, and I loved the modern, wellness-focused amenities, like in-room workout equipment. The overall vibe was refreshing and relaxing. One of the best parts? The value for money is outstanding. Compared to other hotels in the area, EVEN Hotel offers great rates without sacrificing quality. Plus, the parking lot is huge—no stressful circling for a spot, which is a rare perk in downtown areas. If you’re looking for a convenient, comfortable, and reasonably priced stay in Austin, I highly recommend EVEN Hotel!

Cambria Hotel Austin Downtown

Cambria is a newer hotel amidst the redevelopment projects taking place near Rainey Street, a historic landmark of homes turned into entertainment venues. Cambria is opposite side of the spectrum with innovative decor and relaxation. Note that parking costs 49USD per day with valet access only. We chose not to rent a car based on our needs in Austin. Came to visit my son and his family with my eldest son, so we wanted to have some options near nightlife activities. Local drivers shared info on the changes made to the nearby historic street, and staff was friendly with all needs. The water statiins were a plus. Where I think Cambria can improve is in the price of the rooms, menu items and operation hours of their lobby bar/roof bar since staff was short during our stay. Walking to the entertainment street required the back alley short trek, and that aspect took away from the lush atmosphere of the hotel. Grafitti and Limestone hotel venues can easily adjust their marketung strategies towards in-house entertainment along with the Valet arrangement to flow more smoothly and affordably. It’s a lovely hotel which can become full circle staycation with a few adjustments regarding that aspect. New business developments working alongside grass roots businesses is key to smooth changes for both visitors and long-time locals. The pool atmosphere is great, the gym is clean, and the first floor waiting area an easy meeting spot.

The stay was not pleasant. Checked in due to family member having scheduled surgery. Actually added check in (1) day earlier than planned and booked through hotel directly. I should have known there would be issues. Walked into lobby and it was hot. Hotel had fans set up. The biggest complaint is terrible water pressure that made showering extremely difficult for family member to prep for surgery using antibacterial soap that we brought. The water was basically weak sprays through clogged up shower nozzles the water was never hot but lukewarm. Not enough water to wash our hair. Cold water had a better spray but not acceptable to shower in cold water. Maintenance came very quickly the first night and took apart the shower head but also admitted this has been a frequent issue. Spent full day at hospital, came back to hotel and water pressure still bad. Front desk staff was kind and this is no complaint about the staff. He recommended running the sink faucet for 15-20 min and run the shower at same time to get hot water. This is crazy but ok I was able to take 5 min shower with same weak shower spray with a bit warmer water. Went to bed and decided to check out 7/16 Thursday at 5:30 am, a full 6 hours before I needed to leave. Told the front desk staff and they also agreed I could leave a review. Why did I not fight and demand that something be done? I was sleep deprived due to very loud Air conditioning unit turning on and off and prepping for the surgery. I do want Hotel Indigo to make things right with me. At this point I will never book again with this hotel.

Check-in was a breeze and Veronica at the front desk was very pleasant. Once in the room, because I cleaned up water spilt on the floor, I found the white toilet paper turned absolutely black AND with ***** hairs on it to boot. All this within 1sq ft. I called the lobby and asked how often the floors were mopped. I was told “every day.” I related what I had found to the contrary and was asked if I wished to change rooms to which I said “yes!”. When I went down to retrieve the new key, I took the wadded toilet paper with me and she took a picture of it before throwing it in the garbage! There were two very large, well lit, vending machines in a hallway off the main lobby, and the ice machine was in good working order and the ice, clean and solidly frozen. I decided I was too tired to check and see if the new rooms’ floor was dirty or not so I proceeded to not ever walk on the floor with my bare feet. The day manager, Mari, was very nice and the coffee was hot fresh out of the thermos on the side table…hot water and tea bags also available. If you detest “sweet ‘n low” bring your own natural sugar. I ran into the head of housekeeping and happened to mention how disgustingly dirty the floors were in my first room, and I informed her that the night manager had taken a picture of what I had wiped up on my piece of toilet paper and she said she would go and ask to see it. I later learned that Mayra had indeed done so. So that was good attention to detail. Everything in the room worked fine including the remote and TV, the microwave was spotless and looked brand new and it even had a childproof lock on it for those families traveling with curious offspring that haven’t internalized the meaning of “NO” yet 😵💫. The refrigerator was spotless and new looking as well. WiFi was strong and reliable. I walked by the pool, which I noticed was closed (understandable for this time of year!). It was full of water, but I must say that it looked the equivalent of a Louisiana swamp and I was prepared to see a ‘gator come climbing up those darkened, slimy stairs at any point in time.😆 The parking lot at night is VERY well lit around the entire property which is a very welcome sight! Being right off the interstate doesn’t provide for any exciting venues to walk to but there IS a wonderful grocery store (HEB) .7miles away straight down Rundeburg on Lamar/Rundeburg. Other than that there are a plethora of food trucks doling out South American ‘cuisine’ just yards from the front of the hotel as well as across the street. I didn’t try any of them so cannot opine. I hope this was worth the read, if indeed you got this far! Cheers!🥂
