Serene_lanThe hotel ambiance exudes old-money charm. During my stay, I even had the pleasure of seeing their Sultan King. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating. The hotel's location is excellent, said to be in the best 'feng shui' spot, feeling grand and impressive. It directly faces the river, and in the evenings, it's very convenient to stroll along the riverside to Marina Bay Sands. The only issue was that the air conditioning wasn't cooling when I checked in, but it was resolved after I reported it. Later that night, I discovered the shower gel dispenser was nearly empty, and no product would come out. Then, the shower drain clogged, quickly flooding the entire bathroom during my quick shower. The hotel does show some signs of aging facilities, but everything else was great.

AaronW31The hotel is quite new, and very close to the airport. The buffet breakfast is good. However, it seems the staff were not familiar with the system so the check-in took a long time. Besides, there were renovation noises at 8-9am in the morning upstairs which was a bit disturbing. Lastly, it can take a long time for deposits refund (3 days already and I haven’t received it)

My stay was disappointing. The room was very hot when I arrived and remained uncomfortable, definitely not ideal in warm weather. The surroundings and ventilation need improvement. The toilet was dirty, and the sliding door did not close properly it hung awkwardly over the rim. I have to do it myself to make it inside the rim so it can slide better. Breakfast was okay only and not attractive. They mentioned a tablet would be provided, but it wasn’t. Also, no one answered the contact number for inquiries. I expected much better for the price. Overall, this place is only for Instagrammable.

Guest UserWe had a lovely 3D2N mother-daughter and intergenerational friends’ stay at Cove 55, Santubong, and it was exactly the sort of peaceful break we were looking for. The grounds are beautiful and very calming, with a real sense of tranquility and serenity. The staff were lovely — warm, attentive and thoughtful throughout our stay. Our mothers are in their 80s, and the pace and setting were perfect for them. Two nights felt just right for a restful getaway. The room was spacious, bright and comfortable. The bed was firm and very comfortable, and the air-conditioning was powerful — an absolute godsend in the Santubong heat. The complimentary water, coffee and tea provided were adequate. The weather was generally nice, although scorching during certain parts of the day, so we were glad to have a cool room to retreat to.
Our stay was simple and very enjoyable: we basically ate, chatted and swam. The food was good quality, with generous portions, and we were very satisfied with the meals. The place feels lived in rather than brand new, but it is respectably clean. I would not describe it as immaculate, but it is by far cleaner than many hotels and retreats in Kuching.
The only thing I wish we had done differently was to request ground-floor rooms in advance. As our mothers are in their 80s, it would have been easier for them to avoid climbing the stairs. For anyone travelling with elderly guests or anyone with mobility concerns, I would suggest requesting ground-floor rooms when booking. Overall, Cove 55 is a beautiful, serene place for a quiet escape, especially for families or friends wanting to slow down and spend time together. I would happily recommend it.

Yongan16This is by far the best hotel in Kuching. It's newly renovated and even better than the Sheraton or Shangri-La. Perched high on a hilltop, its elevated location means it's safe from floods, a real plus in an island city like Kuching. The hotel complex itself is massive. The upper floors house the hotel, while the annex downstairs is a shopping mall. They're currently hosting a book exhibition, and there are plenty of bubble tea and ice cream shops – perfect for an afternoon stroll. The hotel breakfast is truly luxurious, with crab and salmon available in abundance. Make sure to book your stay with breakfast included!

Janet.tyyThe front desk service was excellent. I had an appointment outside and was unable to return to the hotel before the check-out time. The staff kindly kept my luggage safely at the lobby until I returned later to collect it. I really appreciated their helpful and accommodating service.

TamendoujiaowojiegeTo be honest, I've stayed here many times before, including weekends, and I've always found it quite good with excellent value for money. However, this time I arrived late, and the staff gave me a room facing the road. It was incredibly noisy at night with motorcycles constantly passing by, making it impossible to sleep. Next time, I hope the hotel can prioritize assigning rooms not facing the road. I look forward to improvements.

1. Hard to contact. I tried to call, WhatsApp, email. No response at all or left on read. We just want to know if its possible to drop off bag before check out. I know it's not compulsory service, that's why we want to ask just incase. But since we can't reach them, we can't plan our itinerary properly. After arrive, finally they answer our call and told us we cant drop off our luggage. So we had to wait at nearest cafe from 10am-2pm. If we know we cant drop off bag early, we might rent a car for that day. Then, even at 2pm, we still had hard time to contact them.
2. Usually all details to self check in will be given before check in time. But we had to contact them first for them to give the passcode. Again we stranded outside hotel just waiting but just for few minutes. Even we met other guest who standing infront of hotel at 4-5pm something and ask us how to get the passcode. If that person just waiting until midnight, does the hotel gonna wait too? If you cant be reachable, at least be proactive before check in time.
3. Sound of shower from other room is bearable. But the smell of smoke??? What kind of ventilation system is that I can smell smoke from other room? Since my room doesn't have window, yeah I'm just having hard time to breath while awake and while sudden wake up during sleep.
