Hotels with WiFi in Kamikawa District

This hotel is located about 1km before the Asahidake Ropeway. It's a bit hard to get to without a car, but we took bus number 66 from Asahikawa Station Bus Terminal, stop 9. Being in a remote mountain area, there are no convenience stores. The lobby on the first floor sells simple snacks and beer, but I recommend buying these in advance from the city. The hotel has an old mountain lodge feel (it’s a place with history and tradition, apparently over 100 years old). It seems they have some kind of agreement with Switzerland. It looks like it was recently renovated and expanded, with a main building and an annex. The first-floor lobby has a restaurant for breakfast and dinner, a cafeteria exclusively for guests (with unlimited water, tea, and coffee), a lounge area with a fireplace, and hot springs. The staff are, of course, incredibly friendly. We stayed in the main building, and the room was quite spacious and comfortable. The room only has a sink for washing hands and a toilet. There's a safe, a toilet with a state-of-the-art bidet, and a large window that can be opened for ventilation. Unfortunately, the wall-mounted TV isn't a smart TV. There's a hairdryer, refrigerator, table, and desk, and the bed is quite large and comfortable. There are a total of three themed hot springs. The annex has an outdoor hot spring called 'Annex Jang,' which has one outdoor bath and two indoor baths, for a total of three baths. It's available from 7 AM, excluding cleaning time until noon. The outdoor bath is less than 3 pyeong (about 100 sq ft), but it was snowing at the time, so I enjoyed a warm soak. The main building has the Yukoman and Shikoro baths. Yukoman has about three baths, and Shikoro has six, with different water colors and temperatures, allowing you to move around and try them all. Shikoro, in particular, has large moss-covered rocks within the baths, with the interior designed to replicate that natural environment, making you feel like you're soaking in nature. These baths are cleaned from 9 AM to 3 PM, and the male and female baths swap between 8:45 PM and 9 PM. This hotel was satisfying just for its dinner and breakfast. The Japanese course meals, made with ingredients produced in Hokkaido, were a delightful experience, allowing us to taste the natural flavors of the ingredients. I particularly enjoyed looking up the ingredients on the timetable and savoring them. It was even better that the female server explained everything kindly in English. I want to visit again next season. It was a wonderful one-night stay.

1. The staff all speak English and are incredibly friendly. They helped us book dinner, rented bikes for us to go to the supermarket for cantaloupes, and provided excellent service. Highly recommend! 2. The breakfast was absolutely delicious, perfectly seasoned, and tasted just like homemade food. You can tell a lot of care went into it. 3. I highly recommend going to Takumiya Yakiniku across the street. We stayed here for two nights, and on the night in between, we tried 'Jiu' Yakiniku, which was opened by ********* owners. I really don't recommend it, despite being run by *********. Takumiya Yakiniku, on the other hand, has excellent quality wagyu beef and vegetables. It's definitely our top choice for dinner. 4. Loved it! I'll definitely stay here again next time! ^_^

This was the best accommodation I had during my Hokkaido trip, bar none. Although it's a hostel, it had single rooms and was very affordable. During the snow season, the value for money was incredibly high. What was delightful was that the hostel had a private onsen (hot spring bath) with a small outdoor pool. You could relax in the onsen while watching the snowscape, observing the moonlit night and the birds flying south – a completely different experience for the price. After bathing, stepping out of the onsen, you could hear the piano music from ”Princess Mononoke” playing in the lobby – a truly wonderful evening. The hotel had a supermarket and a kitchen available. I cooked some simple food (pictures 4, 5, and 6), which was very convenient. The hotel is about a ten-minute walk from the Asahidake Daisetsuzan cable car station. If you're comfortable with hostels and don't have high expectations for food, this is fantastic.

Had a pleasant stay here. It's about 10-15 min walk from the station. Shared bathrooms and toilets. Only 1 with a bathtub. Free washing machine and dryer (about 3-4hrs) but you pay ¥100 for the launch pod. Free coffee, tea, etc. Beds a bit noisy and squeaky. Whole place smells like pine cos most of the furniture is pine. Place is quite quiet but you can still hear other guests walking. Good thing we stayed with few guests. There's a gap between the bed and wall so depending on how you sleep, might drop your pillow in the gap. There's a Lawson right opposite and a good restaurant, a decent ramen place and some bakery further up.

A Convenient and Comfortable Retreat There are 4 units in this building. One parking slot per unit is provided at the corner near unit 101. This apartment offers a truly practical and comfortable base for exploring the area. We really appreciated the thoughtful touches, like the basic utensils and cutlery for easy meal prep, and the welcome inclusion of instant slippers, toothbrushes, and toothpaste. The microwave was also super handy for quick snacks and reheats. Comfort is well-managed with one air-conditioner that kept the unit at a pleasant temperature throughout our stay. The washing machine was a huge plus, and we found the designated drying area right above it in the toilet very efficient. The separate dining table was also a nice touch, providing a comfortable space for meals. 2 dryers are outside the building. With two double beds, this unit is well-suited for small groups or families. We also enjoyed being able to link our Netflix account to the TV, which was great for unwinding in the evenings . Things to Note About the Location The apartment is located in a quiet neighborhood, offering a peaceful atmosphere. While there aren't many eateries directly nearby, there are two convenience stores within easy reach. Do keep in mind that local supermarkets tend to close around 7 PM, so plan accordingly for groceries. We found the area to be quite pleasant for getting around, with not many cars on the road. This makes it particularly fun to explore the town by bicycle, and there are several bicycle rental stores available if you're keen to pedal around.

This is a little gem in Biei. It gave me cute little cozy wooden hut in the snow kind of vibe. Iooking out from the dining area and our room, the view was fantastic and breathtaking. Few things to highlight 1. Affordable cost. 2. Quite and peaceful space where you can sink in and enjoy at your own pace 3. Beautiful snowy farm view 4. Clean and spacious room 5. Polite and thoughtful staffs who can communicate in Mandarin is a plus point 6. Complimentary breakfast made by the chef was yummy. Thanks to the chef who also specially prepared a vegan set meal for my mother 7. Coffee beans, coffee grinder and tools for drip coffee making is prepared in the room for guests 8. Spacious parking space However, for old people who are weak and unfit to carry heavy luggages up and down the stairs might suffer a little as the hotel doesn't have a lift access to the bedrooms on the second floor.. The hotel bed is not as comfortable as other hotels in Japan. Overall, I love my stay in this hotel and would be glad to revisit this place.

Location The location of Auberge Ninguruforet is a bit remote and far from the main town center of Biei. There are no nearby convenience stores like Lawson or Family Mart, so guests need to plan ahead for their meals and supplies. This can be inconvenient, especially for larger groups with elderly or young children who may have difficulty walking long distances in the cold winter weather. Check-in ProcessTo improve the check-in experience, it would be helpful if the hotel could request guests to provide their passport details in advance. This would allow for a smoother and faster check-in, without the need for guests to go back and forth to their cars in the freezing temperatures just to take photos for the registration process. Check-out Confusion Even though the hotel had implemented the CCTV audio system to provide clear instructions, the language barrier appears to have caused some confusion for me during the check-out. This can be a common challenge, especially in more remote locations where the staff may not be as fluent in English. Breakfast Since our group requires halal food, it's understandable that we did not include the breakfast option in our package. The hotel could consider offering more diverse breakfast options to cater to different dietary needs in the future. Luggage Handling and Car Access One of the key issues we faced was the need to transport our luggage from the parking area to the unit using carts, rather than being able to drive our car closer to the entrance. This was especially challenging given the freezing -10°C temperatures at night .To improve this, it would be greatly appreciated if the hotel could allow guests to drive our cars closer to the entrance, even if just temporarily, to drop off the luggage. This would avoid the need for guests, especially those traveling with elderly or young children, to struggle with pushing heavy carts through the frigid weather. Scenery Despite the challenges, the stunning winter scenery at Auberge Ninguruforet seems to have made up for it. The -8°C temperature that morning must have created a true winter wonderland, with the beautiful snow-covered landscapes and crisp, clear skies. This picturesque setting is surely a highlight of your stay.Overall, with some improvements to the location accessibility, check-in/out procedures, and guest services, Auberge Ninguruforet could provide an even more enjoyable experience, especially for larger groups traveling with families. The breathtaking winter scenery, however, remains a major draw for this property. We will surely come again to Auberge Ninguruforet, this time leaving our larger luggage in the car and only carrying the essentials we need for our stay in our backpacks. This will allow us to avoid the hassle of transporting heavy bags through the frigid weather, and instead focus on enjoying the stunning winter scenery.By packing light and only bringing what we need for the duration of our visit, we can easily move between our car and the hotel entrance without the struggle of pushing carts through the snow. This will make the check-in and check-out process much smoother, especially for our group with elderly and young family members.Despite the minor inconveniences we experienced previously, the breathtaking winter wonderland at Auberge Ninguruforet remains a major draw for us. We look forward to returning, better prepared to handle the cold temperatures, and immersing ourselves in the serene, picturesque setting that this property offers. With a few adjustments to our packing and luggage management, we are confident our next stay will be an even more enjoyable and memorable experience.

The hotel description did not capture the situation enough. I was confused due to lack of room pictures. They also posted several listing for different rooms under different hotel name section. But this room is perfect for us. The location is a bit far (if you are not used to walking) from the station but it is only around 7-9 minutes walking. The surrounding area is a quiet neighborhood. The building is new and very clean. It was also warm inside even when the weather forecast said -14 celcius outside. The japanese food they served was also very good. They provided free coffee/tea and water in common area. They also let us lent their microwave. The bathroom is only one but very clean and comfy. The room has its own mini fridge, ac, and tv. If you are wondering where to stay in Biei, I definitely recommend this place.

Convenient location close to the ropeway and public transportation. The hotel is a little dated though. There are indoor and outdoor onsens but the outdoor onsen is opened to male and female on different dates. The hotel provides shuttle bus service to take you to their nearby sister hotel which has outdoor onsen throughout the week. The buffet breakfast and dinner are very average so don't expect much. The reception hardly speaks any English or Chinese so be prepared to use a translating App.
