"We were freezing in our room air come did not work properly and only received a bed sheet on our bed!! Breakfast and coffee was the worst I had in years big shame for Italy!!! Would not recommend paying for it"

"It's right across from the train station, making it incredibly convenient! The location is absolutely fantastic. The room itself is quite spacious, and the bathroom is also very roomy. They even have a charmingly retro, old-fashioned elevator. However, the amenities are very basic; you'll need to bring your own toothbrush, tissues, and slippers. It's perfectly fine for a short stay, like a couple of nights, if you're just passing through. The staff service is pretty good. I frequently asked them for water refills, which saved me a fair bit on buying bottled water, haha."

"It is a very clean and very new hotel , it is not a hotel, but all the environment is very clean,  character ratio is high, the staff does not understand English, but can also communicate , the boss is very good, and there is a capsule coffee machine , the traffic is very close to the station, it is recommended"

"The mattress is hard, it's very noisy to sleep, you can hear the elevator. And the worst part is the air conditioner blows directly on the bed. It's close to the station. The breakfast is very average, the coffee is capsule-based."

"The appearance of the hotel was very good. The reception area was very clean and quiet. Each floor had an automatic air freshener which meant that the hotel smelt very good. The hotel room had a lovely big bed which was very comfortable. There was a fridge and kettle in the room. The hotel was a twenty minute bus ride from the center of Genoa and once we had downloaded the app it was very easy to buy tickets. The number 1 bus is a couple of minutes walk from the hotel and the bus is every 11 minutes. We discovered a lovely area to eat on the day we left. Leave the hotel and turn right. At the traffic lights turn right . After about three minutes you will find a shopping area with restaurants. We were short of time so went to Tumbler. The staff were very friendly and we had lovely panini. On the negative side, we were woken at 6am with a male shouting very loudly in his room. Later that day, the man was shouting again. I went outside our room and the man was shouting very loudly at a lady in his room. There was a very clear domestic abuse situation with the man hitting the woman which I tried to stop and also contacted reception. Reception asked the lady if there was any problem and she said no so the receptionist left. I said to the receptionist that the man was being violent towards the woman and she said there was nothing they could do. I asked if they could put security on the floor in case anything further happened and she said no. I felt the receptionist could have done a lot more in this situation. I imagine that these situations do occur from time to time so the hotel should give staff guidance on the steps to take to safeguard clients. I felt that the staff at the hotel were not very welcoming. I saw at least four receptionist and not one of them smiled or looked happy to be working. Any time I approached them for information they gave the information but without smiling and were very unenthusiastic.. I would stay at the hotel again as it is convenient for the airport and quieter than staying in the centre. It is also very clean and I got a good night's sleep. Be aware, we booked a taxi from the airport which is 1.1 km away and we're charged 18,50 euros."

"I have lived in many hotels in Italy, this Astoria is definitely the best! The room layout is reasonable, the facilities are complete and clean. The architectural design is colorful, and every detail is attentive. The staff is warm and thoughtful and the service is meticulous. And the transportation is convenient, super close to the square. Really recommend!"

"We had an absolutely wonderful stay! The location is fantastic for exploring the city, and everything was spotlessly clean. The staff were lovely, and our room was beautifully furnished, with even the bathroom lighting being just perfect 😀. The late check-out was incredibly convenient (what a relief!). "A little difficult to find even with GPS, though this is due to an overhead pista confusing the GPS. The staff were very welcoming and accommodating when we requested a quieter room. At every juncture the front desk was extremely professional. The breakfast exceeded expectations with an incredible assortment. The room had good city and harbor views and is quite secure. I would not hesitate to stay there again."

"The staircase is a highlight, the food at Giotto restaurant is quite good, the location is very convenient, there's a shopping street downstairs, there's valet parking, and the rooms are quite spacious."
