"Right after parking at the guesthouse's back entrance, even before I stepped into the room, I caught a glimpse of the shimmering river nearby. A gentle breeze, carrying the fresh scent of the water, instantly swept away the fatigue from my journey. When I checked in, the owner smiled and told me the room had a direct river view. The moment I opened the door, I was completely stunned—the floor-to-ceiling window offered a full panoramic view of the river. The river was wide, and I could take in the lush greenery and walkways on both banks, even the distant bridge was clearly visible. I didn't even need to step outside; I could simply sit on the sofa by the window and enjoy the entire river view. The room also had a balcony. In the evening, I watched the sunset slowly dip into the river, painting the water in warm golden hues. At night, I saw the lights on the opposite bank gradually illuminate, creating a particularly soothing night scene with the sparkling water. "I've had this B&B saved for ages, and finally got the chance to visit Chenzhou with friends. It was super clean, and they even provided toilet seat covers. Plenty of power outlets too. They turned on the heating for us in advance, which was a really thoughtful touch. The housekeepers were all great and answered every question we had. The 'Shazhufen' (Pork Killing Noodles) for breakfast were also very fresh. The overall design of the B&B is minimalist and comfortable; you can tell the designer has good taste, vision, and put a lot of thought into it. The view from the window of this suite is also excellent; seeing the morning light was very pleasant. It's less than a five-minute taxi ride to Dongjiang Lake Scenic Area, and there are many good restaurants nearby. The only thing is, it would be even better if the projector came with a screen."

"The itinerary was basic, but the hotel was anything but. We stayed at a truly elegant hotel on the other side of the Xiaodong River. I pondered for a long time what words to describe it. It had a wabi-sabi feel, yet the details were human and warm. It had a traditional style, yet the rooms reflected a technological and modern aesthetic. Finally, I realized this might be the ”quality” we were looking for. It's said that the owner had previously worked as a teacher, then achieved financial independence by starting a tech company. In his 50s, he built a hotel, freed from worldly scrutiny and able to design and operate it to his own taste. In the evening, I sat in the lounge, enjoying a rich cocktail, listening to the graceful guzheng music, and observing the beautiful young women. All my emotional wrinkles were smoothed out, leaving behind a stable core. Not only the food and accommodation, but also the hotel's cultural experience programs were thoughtfully curated. The hotel also has its own dock with direct access to the Xiaodong River Visitor Center on the other side. Riding on a bamboo raft, the river breeze caressed my face, making me feel that life is beautiful and life is precious."

The hotel environment itself is wonderful; sitting on the observation deck, looking at the lake and clouds, is incredibly relaxing. The iconic pool is a must-visit spot for tourists to take photos. The rooms are standard but very clean. Breakfast offers a wide variety of choices, and on the third floor, there's a self-service laundry room and a gym. Just a heads-up: the laundry room locks at 9 PM, so if you plan to do laundry, be mindful of the time."

"The room was spacious, and the public areas were definitely worth the price. The photo op spot on the second floor was also a nice touch. We drove there, and parking was very convenient. When we used the bath, they proactively asked if we needed a bath liner, and they provided real, large towels (I'm so fed up with some B&Bs and hotels that only offer disposable ones). The complimentary breakfast was tasty, and if you weren't full, you could order another bowl of noodles for free. It was raining when we left, and the front desk staff specifically came out to offer me an umbrella. I told her we were leaving and wouldn't take it since we couldn't return it, but she said it was fine and not to get wet. Absolutely wonderful. Warm winter sun [Tea around the stove]: Tasted good.
