"The hotel's location is great, right next to the bus stop, and the room was decent too. The buffet breakfast was excellent, with very fresh fruit, and the restaurant staff were attentive. However, the entire hotel's value is completely dragged down by the front desk staff! From check-in to check-out, they were utterly indifferent. They barely responded to any questions, never offered help proactively, and were just stiff and rigid! It's as if they were put to work without any training whatsoever – absolutely terrible! The front desk staff are the core reception for the entire hotel and represent its service, yet this is precisely where a huge problem lies! What a real shame!"

However, perhaps Wutaishan is just too cool, but the air conditioning was broken, and the room temperature stayed at 25 degrees Celsius. We had no choice but to call twice, and the maintenance staff moved us to the room across the hall."

"Great value for money! The price is a third of what you'd pay at a Marriott, and it has all the essentials. It's really convenient for those who don't want to exert too much energy. We could hike up Dai Luoding, come back to the hotel to rest, and then head out again in the evening. Or walk around Shuxiang Temple and then easily return to the hotel. It's also only a 10-minute walk to the bus stop, which is a plus. The hotel service was good, they quickly resolved any issues, and the owner even kindly helped us with our luggage. The cleanliness was acceptable. Recommended!"

"The front desk staff were incredibly kind. They turned on the A/C in my room beforehand, worried I'd be cold, and even upgraded my room! They also gave me breakfast vouchers. They were asking if I'd arrived and how I was getting there even before I landed. I originally planned to stay two nights, but there was no underfloor heating, and the A/C couldn't really heat the room. Plus, the hot water was only lukewarm, which left me feeling a bit chilly. It would be much better if they improved this, especially in such cold weather. The environment itself is quite nice though."

However, since you have to climb a few hills, I felt a bit tired after walking for a few minutes once inside the hotel. While the room facilities are a bit dated, the underfloor heating made it very warm and comfortable during winter. The breakfast was rather basic, and although the equipment seemed a bit old, the staff were still very friendly."

"Traveling to Mount Wutai alone made me a bit nervous, so after reading many reviews online, I decided to book the Hanting Premium Hotel. Some reviews mentioned that the Hanting Premium Hotel is a bit out of the way, but they offer a dedicated shuttle service to Dailuo Ding, which is available anytime and takes less than four minutes to reach. You can contact the front desk for both outbound and return trips. As a solo traveler, cleanliness, quietness, and convenience are my top priorities. The breakfast selection was quite rich, and I could have lunch and dinner at the hotel's restaurant.
What surprised me the most was the incredibly thoughtful service. Since I had to leave very early the next day for Wuye Temple and needed to book a car, Xiaoyan at the front desk meticulously noted my reservation time. The next morning, when I inquired about the car at the front desk, the lady at the front desk handed me a breakfast to tide me over. Such attention to detail truly reflects their excellent service, and the Hanting Premium Hotel certainly didn't disappoint.
I'll definitely choose the Hanting Premium Hotel again if I have the chance. After a tiring journey, a quiet and reassuring place to stay is exactly what's needed. I also wish everyone's wishes come true."

"Checked in on May 20th. The lovely lady at the front desk gave us a complimentary room upgrade and breakfast vouchers. This is our second time staying at this hotel, and I love the name (both beautiful and grand – Meili Hao, which means beautiful and grand). The hotel is clean and hygienic, the lobby is spacious, and they offer free mini ice creams. Since we stayed for two nights, the cleaning staff always did a fantastic job. The breakfast spread isn't huge, but it caters to both Western and Chinese tastes, and everything is very clean and fresh. I usually don't write reviews, but I'm rambling on this time, mainly because the front desk staff, particularly Xiao Guo, left such a wonderful impression. She was incredibly kind and patiently answered all our questions about local attractions, offering helpful tips. Xiao Guo is very dedicated and responsible in her work, and she deserves praise! 👍 The hotel itself is so clean and tidy that I didn't even take any photos. Since I need to post a review now, I've just uploaded a picture of the rainy exterior from that night and a landscape painting behind the bed (which I just randomly snapped at the time)."

"Self-driving tour, I wanted to live in Wutai Mountain Scenic Area, but after the tour, I felt that it was really great to live here. The car was parked downstairs, which was very convenient. , Living in the mountains is far from the hotel, driving parking spaces are difficult to find, and those who do scenes have to run with their luggage. Self-driving treasures really recommend. The price is very high. , The only bad thing is that I live in the innermost part, and the hot water needs to be put for a long time before I can barely reach the standard of bathing. Within my range, the village can have this condition and accept some shortcomings."

"There were so many guesthouses to choose from when booking accommodation for our family trip to Wutai Mountain, but we ultimately picked this one. What won me over were its strong Inner Mongolian character and the owners' warm hospitality. From the moment we walked in, we felt a cheerful,草原-like welcome. The landlady, Sister Tuya, and her husband were incredibly talkative and hospitable, readily sharing tips on Wutai Mountain's routes and stories, making us feel like we were visiting relatives. The guesthouse also serves Inner Mongolian hotpot, and the lamb was incredibly tender. After a full day of hiking, coming back to a hot, hearty meal was instantly rejuvenating – a huge plus! The location is also very convenient. The guesthouse is inside the scenic area. Although Wuye Temple is currently under renovation and inaccessible, it's very close to core temples like Tayuan Temple and Dailuoding. "I carefully selected this hotel for my trip, and it didn't disappoint. The facilities are new and very clean, and the breakfast was delicious. The hotel has its own restaurant with great food too. Upon arrival, the staff immediately provided a simple guide, which was a thoughtful touch. My absolute favorite part was the beading and calligraphy area on the third floor. They even gave me a special aged vinegar as a gift when I checked out. Overall, my stay was fantastic and offered excellent value for money. I would definitely choose to stay here again."

LailaiwangwangkanshijieI went to Mount Wutai by chance during the May Day holiday. I checked out many homestays and finally chose Tingshan. I added him on WeChat before I set off, and it was already past eight in the evening when I arrived. No matter what you need or when, the housekeeper Yin Yin will respond to you promptly. Along the way, from dinner time to the need to enter the mountain, the conditions of the journey were explained clearly and concisely, which made people feel at ease. I was even happier when I arrived at my accommodation. The entire homestay was beautiful and quiet, and the staff were very nice and answered any questions I had. We stayed in two room types, each with its own characteristics, but the ”courtyard” room at the back was more comfortable, especially when the temperature suddenly dropped and we turned on the fireplace, drank tea and chatted with our family, and looked at the distant mountains. It was very comfortable! Besides that, the apples in the room are really delicious and sweet! The black tea is also very delicious! After returning home, my father said that they would go next time too.
I wish Tingshan gets better and better! See you next time! ❤️

For our Spring Festival holiday trip to Wutai Mountain, we booked the Huazhu Duicui Pavilion B&B in advance through Ctrip, specifically for its value for money, and it certainly didn't disappoint. On the evening of the second day of the ***** New Year, we drove up the mountain from the North Gate and arrived at the B&B smoothly. The location was excellent, just a short distance from the roadside, quiet yet convenient, with easy parking and charging stations nearby. The B&B was spacious and warm from the moment we entered. The lobby and common areas were grand, like a luxury hotel. Check-in was smooth, and the staff helped us with our luggage upstairs to our room – excellent service. The room was spacious and bright, with two 1.35-meter beds, enough for a family. The underfloor heating was excellent, the decor was tasteful, the bedding was new, clean, and the facilities were complete – everything was perfect. Breakfast, though simple, was hot and filling. When we needed to get to the attractions, the B&B thoughtfully arranged transportation to the nearby bus stop, which was very thoughtful and truly five-star service. The overall environment of the B&B was very nice, and the cats were adorable, which my child loved to play with. Overall, the Duicui Pavilion B&B in Wutaishan offers excellent value for money and is highly recommended.

Guest UserWhen I was choosing accommodation in Wutai Mountain, this place immediately caught my eye.
The service was truly exceptional. Whether it was the butler or other staff members, everyone was incredibly enthusiastic. Any questions or requests were always addressed and resolved promptly.
The hotel environment is also very good. There are activities on the first floor that you can participate in, and the second floor even has a singing bowl space, which creates a very peaceful atmosphere.
We stayed in the 'Red Rattan Cane' room type, which offered a very expansive view. A fruit platter was delivered to our room every day, but it would be even better if the fruit selection were more carefully chosen – on the second day, the strawberries in the platter had mold on them 😧.
Breakfast was a semi-buffet. While the variety wasn't extensive, the taste felt very home-style, and the Wutai Mushroom and Pork Pancake was delicious! 🤤
During our three days in Wutai Mountain, we basically had all our meals at the hotel. The preserved egg and tofu was delicious and very unique. The meatball soup is perfect for those who prefer lighter flavors. Among the two hot pot options, I'd recommend the 'Special Warm Pot' more. In contrast, the 'Wutai Mushroom and Chicken Soup Hot Pot' mostly contained chicken bones, which was a bit disappointing 🤦♀️.

The boss is very good, stayed for about 20 days. The first time I lived in the room downstairs, I changed to the room upstairs when I lived. Especially warm, the boss is very good. My brother's feet were broken, but when I returned to Beijing, I was broken. Thanks to the boss's reminder, I must go to the hospital to check it. During the stay, the temples in the core scenic area of Wutai Mountain were almost all worshipped. When returning to the room, the boss will make up the water. It is very convenient to go to the core scenic area from the homestay. If there are Tibetans staying, it will be particularly lively.

TAN BOON LIANG BERNARDThis is our first time visiting Wutaishan and we stayed here for 5 nights. We came here by a direct bus from Beijing and the hotel picked us from the bus terminal in Wutaishan. The hotel driver was helpful and polite. We were greeted by 2 pleasant front desk ladies upon check in. We received a beads bracket gift and welcome fruit plate .
During the first day we had an issue with the air conditioning unit in our room and they changed our room the very next day.
The hotel is located just off a busy street with lots of restaurants and shops. There is also a shuttle bus stop just around the corner. There are many famous temples here all within walking distance from the hotel. There is a restaurant in the hotel and the food is delicious and we had a meal served in our room.
The lady boss (who we didn’t meet) provided us with information for our trip planning and helped us to book a land tour of the 5 mountains.
Lastly we would like to compliment the 2 front desk staff, the 2 cleaning staff and the driver for their enthusiastic attitude and service.
Overall we enjoyed our stay here.

Guest UserOt's a small boutique hotel . The room was large and new looking. It had a small living room with comfortable chairs. The bathroom is average size with good hot shower.
The location is very good with easy access to restaurants and grocery shops. Be aware that everything concerned with food is just that little bit more expensive than other cities in China. But I guess the cost of hauling everything up to wu tai shan is costly.
The hotel is also close to the central bus station.
The manger Tong Tian Tian was most helpful. She came to pick us up from the bus station, helped us to book a day tour of the 5 mountain temples. ( which had to be cancelled halfway due to a snowstorm on the mountain tops, where the main temples were.
She then helped us to get our partial redunds.
And then helped us to book bus tickets for onward travel to Datong.
She was really helpful. On our first day she dropped us off at a temple nearly 20 mins away.
So top marks for her customer service
The hotel is a little short on the normal facilities like gym , small room fridge in the room, a restaurant ( so no breakfast )

Anonymous UserLocated near to Taiyuan town bus station. Can walk to the hotel from bus station, or if u tired of walking, can take the public bus from 普化寺 stop to 友谊路口 stop. (FOC, all public bus in Taiyuan Town does not need to pay bus fare). Only one bus stop to the hotel.
Very good location. Walking distance to the centre of Taiyuan Town temples. Cos, public buses sometimes are packed, Can choose walking if not tired. Traffic jam in the morning too.
Outside hotel is shopping street of the town. Hotel are near to 3 vegetarian restaurants. Can buy flowers baskets and fruits baskets from the shopping street flower n fruits stores if u wanna offering to Buddha. Flowers baskets are huge, price from RMB80. Fruits baskets RMB100. If buy from store outside temples, price might be more than shopping street price.
The hotel boss and staffs are very friendly and helpful. Always distributing bottles drinks to us when we leaving hotel.
Helped us book van to wutaishan mountain 5 terraces. And helped us book car for our one day trip out of the central, to the temples which are not so accessible by public buses (清凉寺，金阁寺, 竹林寺 and etc). Car booking half day trip is RMB300, full day RMB500. Recommended to book car, less walking up slope, driver can park car straight to temples car park.

Guest UserWholeheartedly recommend this place. It is clean and comfortable, with really modern showers/barhrooms.
Additionally - the real highlight - Liu Kaidi couldn’t have been more helpful in helping to organize our trip with us. Amongst other things she: answered all of our questions we had about our hike around Mount Wutai, gave us a route and map, was extremely responsive on WeChat throughout our time in the area. She also allowed us to leave bags during our hike free of charge, helped us book and catch our bus to Taiyuan, arranged our bus to the East Terrace at 3.30am at the start of our hike (waking us up) and gave us a fantastic food recommendation for dinner (even walking us to the restaurant).
Our stay would not have even the same without her help and we are so grateful. I wouldn’t stay anywhere else if I came to the area.
