After we encountered a bad experience with a desert glamping resort in Dunhuang, we were a bit cautious with Dune when we booked it. However, after I communicated with the manager in Dune via WeChat, I was more confident as he was very polite and helpful. He helped us to booked a transfer from Turpan Airport to Dune resort. As our flight arrived Turpan in the evening, it was late when we arrived at Dune. The manager and another staff came to the entrance of the driveway to welcome us and helped us with our luggage. They took us straight to our tent, and they upgraded us to a bigger tent, too. We woke up to this beautiful Kumtag Desert Sand dunes, right in front of our tent! It was so beautiful. As the off peak season started, we were the only guests there but the staff were serving us with delicious breakfast and dinner. The food was delicious and plentiful! The manager and staff were very attentive to our requests. One of the staff has helped us to arrange a local guide/driver to take us to the Kumtag desert for an exciting ATV ride and sand sliding. We had a great time. We ended up hiring the same guide, a pleasant and calm Uygur young guy to take us for some sightseeing and dropped us back to Turpan. I would say to anyone who is looking for a real desert glamping, please come to Dune in Shahshan near Turpan instead of Dunhuang.

It is a very good hotel with high cost performance. The room is also very clean without any odor. When I encountered a problem, the front desk solved it for me immediately. It is also on duty 24 hours a day. The front desk lady is also very attentive. The room is fully equipped. I personally think it is very good~

Everything except the breakfast was 10/10. Reception was super good, room was spacious, clean and has somewhat of a view over the desert, there was a (very small) gym and free self service laundry area. Free pick up and drop off from train station offered. Breakfast: brought to your room at whatever time you want, but very boring, basically not worth getting.

Shanshan New Town Hotel is the most cost-effective, the sanitation is also very clean, the sound insulation of the room is very good, the room is cleaned and disinfected, the linen is very comfortable to sleep, very clean, the bathroom is also fragrant, the shower is very comfortable, the water temperature is very good, very fast. The price is really high. The service is also very good. During the National Day, the hotels passing by Shanshan were more than 400, and the town tens of kilometers away was also borrowed from tourism. At this price, I lived in a guest house. The carpet in the house was probably not cleaned for a long time. I closed the door and dusted my nose and slept with a mask. Quietness is OK, hot water is sufficient. It’s difficult to travel on holidays, it should be said that there is no money.
