Overall, it was a good stay, but there are a few drawbacks to consider: 1. They didn't inform me before check-in that I needed to purchase a membership card to extend my stay for a second night. Otherwise, I'd have to check out and then check in again. While it wasn't a lot of money, it left a bad impression. 2. The check-in time was a bit odd.

We booked a 2 Double room bed and love how amazed of this scent and most importantly the area is full of famous coffee house and one of the Michelin Restaurant is just foot away . Definitely recommended to others who love and enjoy the peace and away from the crowd

This hotel is the top choice for comfort, cleanliness, safety, and convenience. It's located right by the Green River, just a 5-minute walk from Taichung Railway Station, so meals are never an issue with plenty of dining options within walking distance. The room was clean, and the bed was a firm spring mattress (the kind that doesn't sag). The hot water was plentiful and very hot, and there was no water accumulation. Next to the front desk, there's a coffee machine and various coffee and tea bags, along with a 24-hour supply of water at three different temperatures. The rooftop has free washing machines and a dryer (NT$10 for 20 minutes). The hotel offers free parking at a partner lot, just a 5-minute walk away. It's incredibly convenient and comfortable for travelers. Highly recommended!

Positive Feedback I had a pleasant stay at the hotel. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. The staff were friendly, accommodating, and responsive to our needs. The location is excellent, right opposite Taichung Station. There's a supermarket, convenience store, and restaurants next door. The price is also reasonable. What I didn't like was their very strict check-in and check-out times – check-out at 11 AM and check-in at 3 PM. They charge you for exceeding these times. However, one morning, they started cleaning the hallway at 9 AM, and the noise of the machines woke me up, even though it wasn't even housekeeping time yet. Also, on my first day, my room was already clean, but they wouldn't let me check in early. This feels like a double standard.

The hotel's location is excellent, very close to the airport shuttle bus stop and Taichung Station. They offer late-night snacks and breakfast, which is very convenient. The staff are all very polite and enthusiastic, and the place is very clean.

The first day we arrived there was a city cleaning and so there were so many cockroaches on the first floor but the staff was trying to clean it and it's not their fault. The rooms are very spacious and nice. Breakfast also included and very delicious. (The fries are the besttttt) Tho you have to walk a bit to another hotel, the aunty there is really nice! They no longer provide you plastic amenities but i guess that's for every hotel in Taiwan. Overall a really nice place to stay!

I booked a double standard room with a bathtub. The bathroom fixtures were high-quality TOTO and VOV. For a solo traveler, the space was perfectly adequate. The room and overall decor had a tasteful, elegant Japanese aesthetic. The minor dust on the windowsill was negligible. The hotel entrance is understated, but after checking in, you absolutely must visit the lobby. Take a seat, relax, and enjoy a cup of their complimentary self-serve brewed coffee – the aroma and taste are perfectly balanced, on par with a five-star hotel.

I love the whole vibe of the hotel where it give off this rustic industrial look but the interior of the room is really nice. Front desk was super accommodating when we wanted to upgrade our room but the initial upgraded room was not to our liking and they kindly suggested another room for us to have a look first before we decide on it. we were able to check in an hour earlier as well and was able to keep our luggage at the front desk after check out and return back later to collect. overall an amazing experience with SOF hotel and would definitely come back to stay when im in taichung again

Had a good short business stay at The Metro Hotel. The room was clean and comfortable, with everything working as expected. It’s a straightforward, no-frills setup but perfectly adequate for a couple of nights. Check-in was smooth and staff were efficient. The location is convenient and easy to get around from, which made the trip more practical. Overall, a simple and reliable option for a business trip that serves its purpose well.
