"Staying at this hotel again after a year, and it's still excellent. The breakfast is highly recommended – so much variety and really tasty. I was surprised the front desk staff still remembered me! The decor in the common areas is really interesting; all the tables and chairs are salvaged vintage pieces with great character."

Destiny Student - Parkgate ★★★

📍 43 Montpelier Hill, Dublin

"Perfect location to access Heuston station and the luas metro line. Also nearby phoenix park. It’s a cheap stay and the room is very basic but nice. We had an issue in the mornings, the water was turned off and we couldn’t brush our teeth, use the shower or wash our hands. Aside from this it would be ideal if you’re looking for a cheap stay/ are backpacking."

Gardiner House Hostel ★★
"It was a little hard to find the hostel because the entrance is easy to walk right past, but it is next to a big church building that is pretty hard to miss. The breakfast had eggs, which is a big win in my book. Rooms were clean and beds are in boxes with a curtain that provides nice privacy. I slept quite well here for a couple of nights."

Clayton Hotel Burlington Road ★★★★
"I stayed at the Clayton Hotel Burlington Road and found it comfortable but not perfect. The room was spacious and clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The location is convenient — close enough to walk to the city centre but still quiet at night. However, the room felt a bit warm, and there was no way to open the window for fresh air. Breakfast was fine but quite expensive for what was offered, and it got very busy in the morning. Overall, it’s a decent hotel for a short stay, though I expected a little more for the price."

"Very cheap and a great location, easy to walk to most major landmarks in the city. Friendly staff. Only small downside is that, although my room was very clean on arrival, it wasn’t cleaned again at any point during my 3 night stay (not sure if this is normal or only my experience). However, I would definitely still stay here again!"

Riu Plaza the Gresham Dublin ★★★★
"The hotel is in a good location, very close to the main pedestrian street, and the lobby is also quite unique. The room is OK, and the sofa bed will be made in advance according to the number of people staying. But the service is really too slow. We are a three-person stay and wanted to change the big quilt to 2 single quilts. No one came after making 3-4 calls. After a few hours, we decided to make do with it for one night. The housekeeping staff came and figured out the needs. After about a quarter of an hour, they told us that the hotel did not have single quilts 😂, and gave us a double quilt. Service needs to be improved"

Ruby Molly Hotel Dublin by IHG ★★★★
"Had a great stay at this hotel. The property was clean and well-maintained, and the location was excellent. The staff were absolutely lovely, welcoming, and always ready to help. My only minor complaint is about the cleaning: the floor wasn't really clean; it felt like it hadn't been mopped. Another point to note is that the amenities provided are quite basic. There were towels and shower gel, but no toothbrush, slippers, cotton swabs, or other small touches that you sometimes find in some hotels. Aside from these details, everything else was perfect, and I recommend this hotel."

"We found the floor of the room dirty, the sheets not exactly freshly laundered and the bathroom sink semi-blocked. After repeated requests, the room was cleaned on the third day and the towels were replaced, while the sink drain remained unchanged. Lazy and unprofessional staff, unclean common areas."

Dublin Travel Recommendations and City Info

Dublin: Ireland's Vibrant Heart

Dublin, the capital city of Ireland, is a mesmerizing mix of history, culture, and modern vibrancy. This lively city, located on Ireland's east coast, is renowned for its friendly locals and stunning architecture. Did you know? Dublin was once home to literary legends like James Joyce and Oscar Wilde, whose influences still pervade the city.

Journeying to the Emerald Isle

Arriving in Dublin typically involves a flight into Dublin Airport, one of the busiest airports in Europe. From there, buses, taxis, and trams offer convenient transport to the city centre. As Ireland is part of the European Union, it's advisable to check and comply with visa requirements before travel.

While Euro is the official currency, most places accept credit cards. English and Irish are the official languages, with English being widely spoken. Embrace local customs by joining the friendly "craic", a unique blend of music, storytelling, and humor that shapes Irish social gatherings.

Unveiling Dublin's Charm

From the historic Dublin Castle and St Patrick's Cathedral to the modern Grand Canal Square, the city offers a wealth of attractions. Literature lovers will relish a visit to the Dublin Writers Museum and the James Joyce Centre. The Guinness Storehouse and Temple Bar are must-visit spots for those looking to sample Ireland's famous brews and vibrant nightlife.

Weather Wonders: When to Visit

Dublin experiences a maritime climate with mild winters and cool summers. July and August are the warmest months, with temperatures averaging 66°F (19°C). The city is known for its rainy weather, so packing an umbrella or raincoat is always a good idea. The best time to visit is late spring or early fall when the weather is most pleasant.

Your Dublin Retreat: Where to Stay

Accommodation in Dublin caters to every need. If you're keen to stay close to major attractions, The Westin Dublin offers luxury rooms near Trinity College and Temple Bar. Gourmands will love the centrally located Drury Court Hotel, with its proximity to Dublin's gastronomic scene.

For budget travelers, the Generator Hostel in Smithfield Square offers affordable lodging, while business travelers may appreciate the modern comforts of The Spencer Hotel in Dublin's financial hub. If you're seeking Instagrammable aesthetics, the boutique Dean Dublin, with its chic decor and rooftop restaurant, makes for a perfect choice.
