Mountain Dwelling Poetry: Settling Body and Mind in the Light and Shadow of Buddha
When the last strand of Sanskrit singing blends into the twilight, you can sit cross legged on the mountain terrace and watch the lights on the top of the Dailuo gradually light up, the gilded pagoda shining with the Milky Way. This place is far enough from the hustle and bustle, close enough to faith - with mountains as pillows, with joy as the moon, let every breath become a practice.
"Looking at the outdoor photos of the hotel, I thought it would be one of those places with its own courtyard. However, upon arrival, I realized the pictures were just well-taken; it's actually a hotel right by the main road. Our room was at the very end and faced west, so I was initially worried about road noise at night, but it turned out to be surprisingly quiet. The reservation originally included only one child's breakfast, but when I spoke to the front desk attendant, she kindly extended it to all three of us, which was a nice touch! The bed, pillows, and duvet were indeed very comfortable, soft, and clean. The room's cleanliness was also decent. The space wasn't as large as I expected, but it was perfectly adequate – it's not like we needed to run around in it! I just thought for over 900 yuan, it would be much bigger and better. However, when we first entered, the smell wasn't pleasant; it was like the previous occupant was an elderly person, or perhaps it had a general 'old person' smell. Secondly, the air conditioning wasn't very effective, and there was no remote control – maybe it was removed, or perhaps AC isn't needed this time of year? Even though it wasn't very cold when we checked in, for those who get chilly easily, it felt like it would need to be on at night. Everything else was quite good! Ultimately, with the price hike for the May Day holiday, I didn't feel it was entirely worth the 900+ yuan per night."
